Sunderland v Blackburn Odds: Goals Galore Special With Paddy Power
December 8, 2011
Sunderland v Blackburn – Sunday 11th December (Sky Sports 1, 13.30pm)
Sunderland host fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers at the Stadium of Light on Sunday in Martin O’Neill’s first match in charge. O’Neill replaced the axed Steve Bruce last Saturday and will be looking to galvanise a lacklustre Sunderland side who are languishing down in 17th in the Premier League. Rovers are just a point behind in 18th but they will be buoyed by their confidence boosting win against Swansea last weekend. Paddy Power have Sunderland as the odds-on 5/6 favourites to win O’Neill’s opening match, while Blackburn are priced at 10/3 to win their first match on the road since the final day of the 2010/11 season. Meanwhile, a draw can be found a 5/2.
Sunderland have been on a torrid run of late, failing to win in five matches, and have only won once at the Stadium of Light all season and that was way back on 18th September. Before last Saturday’s thumping 4-2 win at home to Swansea, Rovers had failed to win any of their previous eight league games, which has piled the pressure on under-fire manager Steve Kean. However, Sunderland have won three and lost none of the last six league meetings between the sides, including a 3-0 home win last season.
If there are four or more goals in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Rovers may be sitting third from bottom but they have certainly not been shy in front of goal this season. On two occasions they have scored four goals in a game and in a further two matches they have hit three, and there have also been four or more goals in four of their last five league games. Furthermore, outside of the top 5 they have scored the most away goals on the road this season (11) just one less than Man Utd and Chelsea. However, their leaky defence means they have also conceded a shed load of goals and they are still without a league win away from Ewood Park. Taking into account Sunderland’s miserable home form and Rovers’ away jitters this match has a draw written all over it, with a 2-2 draw looking good value at 12/1.
Sunderland’s on-loan striker Nicklas Bendtner is the 11/2 favourite to open the scoring, with Fraizer Campbell and Ji Dong-Won available at 6/1. Everton’s in-form striker Yakuba hit a stunning four goals last weekend – taking his tally to six goals in his last three league games – and can be backed at 13/2 to open the scoring on Sunday.

Man Utd vs Crystal Palace Betting – Goalscorer Money Back Special
November 30, 2011
Manchester United host Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup tonight with the match live on Sky Sports 1 at 19.45pm. United are the overwhelming 2/9 favourites, while Crystal Palace have been handed odds of 12/1 to dish out a cup upset at Old Trafford. Ladbrokes will refund your losing first goalscorer bets in this Carling Cup clash if your selection scores later in the game.
Tonight’s match will be the sixth League Cup meeting between the sides, with Palace failing to win any of the previous five encounters. They have not won at Old Trafford since way back in 1989 and the last time the sides met they were thumped 5-2. United have won this competition four times, with their most recent title coming in 2010. By even fielding a reserve team United should simply be too strong for a struggling Palace and if they hit the back of the net early on then it could easily be a case of how many. Fergie’s men look good at 6/1 to win 3-0 or even 16/1 to record a comprehensive 4-1 win. Meanwhile, an out-of-luck Palace side can be backed at 20/1 to shock United 1-0. Palace will no doubt look to draw inspiration from Coventry who, in 2007, were the last Championship side to knock United out of the competition.
Unsurprisingly the First Goalscorer odds are dominated by Man Utd players, with strikers Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney the joint favourites at 2/1. However, with Fergie likely to rest his top players, Dimitar Berbatov and Danny Welbeck could both be worth a punt at 5/2, while Ryan Giggs is priced at 7/1 to open the scoring. Exciting youngsters Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison could be given the opportunity to shine and are both priced at 8/1 to score the first goal of the night. Palace have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks having failed to score in any of their last five games. Chris Martin, Wilfred Zaha, Sean Scannell, Glenn Murray all priced at 12/1 for the away side

Newcastle v Everton – Saturday, 12.45pm Sky Sports 2
QPR v Man City – Saturday, 5.30pm ESPN
Fulham v Spurs – Sunday, 4pm Sky Sports 1
In-form Newcastle take on inconsistent Everton at St James Park in Saturday’s lunch time kick-off match. The Magpies have had a cracking start to the season, finding themselves in third place in the league with 22 points from their opening ten matches. Meanwhile, Everton are languishing down in 16th with just ten points from nine games. Paddy Power are offering a tempting bet on Newcastle striker Demba Ba which is if he scores the last goal they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Ba scored a hat-trick against Stoke on Monday and is priced at 5/1 to be the Last Goalscorer in the match. Alan Pardew’s men have been handed odds of 7/4 to win their seventh league game of the season while Everton are priced at 23/10 to come away with the spoils. A draw may be the way to go at 9/4.
QPR host the league leaders Man City in Saturday’s tea-time match at Loftus Road. City have scored for fun this season and if there are more than four goals scored, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. There have been four or more goals in eight of the ten league games Man City have played so far this term with most of them scored by Roberto Mancini’s maestros. City are the odds-on 1/3 favourites to win their eighth game in a row in all competitions, while QPR are available at long odds of 17/2, with a draw priced at 4/1.
Tottenham have been in impressive form recently, picking up 19 points from their last seven league games, and Harry Redknapp’s men look like a good bet to continue that impressive run away to Fulham on Sunday. Their star player of recent weeks has been Rafael Van der Vaart who has scored in six of the last five league matches. If the Dutchman scores the last goal in Sunday’s game then Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Spurs are the 5/4 favourites to come away with the three points, while Fulham are priced at 11/5 to win their second game on the spin, with a share of the points available at 23/10.

- 11/2 – Rafael Van der Vaart to score the last goal in Tottenham’s match with Fulham
- 15/8 – Man City to beat QPR and there are 3 or 4 total goals in the match

Andy Gray and Richard Keys set to join TalkSPORT
February 9, 2011
Good news for football fans, the partnership of Andy Gray and Richard Keys that many feared would be over after the recent sexism row the pair were embroiled in are set return to the airwaves as presenters on the radio station TalkSPORT. The pair will host a daily show running from Monday – Friday 10am – 1pm beginning on 14th February, in the slot left vacant days before when long time presenter Mike Parry quit as a presenter at the station after a lengthy contract dispute. Parry in an interview with the Portsmouth News website said that “Andy gets my blessing. He’s one of my footballing heroes and I’m delighted he’s going to be doing the job that I can no longer do.”
The pairs long tenure at Sky Sports came to an abrupt end following the commentator’s controversial comments about the inclusion of a female assistant referee and her ability to understand the offside rule that were made off air but were then leaked to the press. Gray was sacked by the satellite broadcaster after another off air tape was broadcast in which he made some lewd comments to a female presenter, Richard Keyes resigned his position stating that he would not be able to continue without Gray.
With their jobs at Sky Sports now free the bookmakers Paddy Power are offering odds on their replacements with Dave Jones the favourite to take over Richard Keys role at odds of 8/11 and co presenter Jamie Redknapp the favourite at odds of 5/6 to take over Andy Gray’s job.
The bookies Boylesports have gone a step further and have created a special betting market for when the new show starts on radio station TalkSPORT.
- 5/6 – Both to apologise on their first show for sexist comments
- 7/4 – Gray and Keys to host an interview with a woman in their first show
- 3/1 – Andy Durham to be a guest on the first show
- 7/1 – Gray to say he was ‘stitched up’ live on air on the first show
- 12/1 – Either Gray or Keys to be sacked from their show before the end of the year
- 12/1 – To interview ref assistant Sian Massey on first show
- 20/1 – Both to bad mouth Skysports on first show
- 33/1 – Either to be reprimanded for making a sexist comment by new employers TalkSPORT

Where next for Andy Gray?
January 27, 2011
Following the sexist comments made by Sky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys Sky Sports have sensationally sacked Gray as one of their presenters whilst Richard Keys has resigned his position as he has stated that “Going forward without Andy would have been almost impossible”. It may become quite sad now to watch the live football on Sky without Keys and Gray with his magic pen. There is even speculation that Electronic Arts may have to remove the commentary from the their next FIFA Football Game that is due out in November.
There is even some speculation (that was hinted at in a Richard Keys radio interview) that the real reason behind Grays sacking was that he was taking on the News of The World for allegedly hacking his and other celebrities mobile phone accounts and that as Sky and the News of the World are ran by the same company that it was inevitable that something would happen to his career.
The pair of presenters have been the face of Sky Sports since the television company began their football coverage of the top flight matches back in 1992 and there already Facebook campaigns in action to demand that they return to Sky. Gray and Keys will not be out of the game for long and are sure to turn up presenting somewhere soon.
What programme will Gray next feature in?
All odds for this special market come from bookmakers William Hill.
- Come Dine With Me – Evens
- Loose Women panellist – 5/2

Who will be Grays Replacement
It has been rumoured that Sky were looking to increase the screen time of some of their younger/prettier presenters and Jamie Redknapp fits that bill.
- Jamie Redknapp – 1/2
- Graeme Souness – 5/1
- Ray Wilkins – 8/1
- Chris Kamara – 10/1
- Alan Hansen – 20/1
- Chris Hughton – 20/1
- Jimmy Hill – 80/1
- Louise Redknapp – 100/1
Bye Bye Andy
We are sure Sky Sports will not be the same without him.

Can Forest get back on track in the game against Newcastle tonight?
March 29, 2010
Tonight’s Coca Cola Championship fixture sees two of the top three teams facing each other in what will be an important result for Billy Davies side. Forest travel to St James Park for the 19:45 kick off that can be watched live on Sky Sports. Forest managed to beat Newcastle 1-0 back in October in and they will be looking to do the double in this reverse fixture.
Click here to place your Championship bet with Victor Chandler
Chris Hughton’s Newcastle side are currently riding the top of the Champions on 80 points, closely followed by West Brom who could have gone top if they had beating Reading at the weekend. Forest are 9 points off the automatic promotion slot so beating Newcastle will keep them still in contention for an automatic spot.
If promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest manage to beat current league leaders Newcastle then Victor Chandler will refund all of the losing bets placed on the match for you to use as a free bet.
Forest have shown an inconsistent form of late, winning at the City ground but losing away from home, they have lost their last 6 away games against teams that on paper they should easily have beat, the last away win was in January ironically against West Brom beating them 3-1, but defeats against Coventry, Derby, Barnsley and Preston have cost them dearly.
Match odds
Forest’s poor away form is reflected in their odds for winning tonight’s match.
8/11 – Newcastle win
7/2 – Forest win
13/5 – Draw
