Newcastle v Everton – Saturday, 12.45pm Sky Sports 2
QPR v Man City – Saturday, 5.30pm ESPN
Fulham v Spurs – Sunday, 4pm Sky Sports 1

In-form Newcastle take on inconsistent Everton at St James Park in Saturday’s lunch time kick-off match. The Magpies have had a cracking start to the season, finding themselves in third place in the league with 22 points from their opening ten matches. Meanwhile, Everton are languishing down in 16th with just ten points from nine games. Paddy Power are offering a tempting bet on Newcastle striker Demba Ba which is if he scores the last goal they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Ba scored a hat-trick against Stoke on Monday and is priced at 5/1 to be the Last Goalscorer in the match. Alan Pardew’s men have been handed odds of 7/4 to win their seventh league game of the season while Everton are priced at 23/10 to come away with the spoils. A draw may be the way to go at 9/4.

QPR host the league leaders Man City in Saturday’s tea-time match at Loftus Road. City have scored for fun this season and if there are more than four goals scored, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. There have been four or more goals in eight of the ten league games Man City have played so far this term with most of them scored by Roberto Mancini’s maestros. City are the odds-on 1/3 favourites to win their eighth game in a row in all competitions, while QPR are available at long odds of 17/2, with a draw priced at 4/1.

Tottenham have been in impressive form recently, picking up 19 points from their last seven league games, and Harry Redknapp’s men look like a good bet to continue that impressive run away to Fulham on Sunday. Their star player of recent weeks has been Rafael Van der Vaart who has scored in six of the last five league matches. If the Dutchman scores the last goal in Sunday’s game then Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Spurs are the 5/4 favourites to come away with the three points, while Fulham are priced at 11/5 to win their second game on the spin, with a share of the points available at 23/10.

Newcastle United are inexcusably letting one of their best players, Joey Barton, leave for free this summer, a decision that will surely infuriate the majority of their supporters, whose patience was severely tested last month after the departure of their captain and most inspirational player Kevin Nolan. Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has reportedly grown tired of Barton’s unflattering tweets about the club and its hierarchy and as a result has lost patience with the player and given him the boot. In the past six months Ashley has let his three best players leave the club, the other being Andy Carroll for £35m in the January transfer window, whilst failing to bring in any players that are likely to capture the imagination of the club’s passionate supporters.

Barton is certainly not the most popular of players, but few can deny his talent, ability and determination. The 28-year-old put in a number of high quality performances for the Magpies last season, which helped the club achieve a respectable 12th place finish in their first season back in the Premier League. Newcastle’s surprise decision to release the midfielder opens up an intriguing betting market as a number of big club’s begin to express their interest in snapping up the player on a free transfer.

Barton is not short of self-confidence and often boasts about how he is one of the most gifted midfielders in England, so it is almost certain that he will opt for a club in England’s top flight. The bookmakers Betfred have placed Tottenham as the 5/2 favourites to secure the services of Barton. If anyone can get the best of the contentious player then it’s surely Harry Redknapp, who is well known for his player-management and motivational skills. Elsewhere, Everton are in the running with odds of 100/30, as are Arsenal at 9/2 and Stoke City at 11/2. Defending Premier League champions Man Utd are also up there at 8/1, however, at present they are more concerned with prizing Wesley Sneijder away from Inter Milan.

Betfred also have Barton at just 6/1 to follow in Nolan’s footsteps and join Championship club West Ham and long odds of 50/1 to return to his former club Man City, with the same odds to join Premier League giants Chelsea.

Whoever Barton decides to join is definitely in for an entertaining ride. If the player can continue to control his aggression and fiery temper, as he did last season, then football supporters can start to enjoy the more positive aspects of his game that can make him a welcome addition to many top flight clubs.

It was a nail biting finish to the 2009/10 Barclay’s Premier League season for Chelsea and Manchester United fans, Chelsea needed a least a draw to be installed as Champions but if they lost and United won then Sir Alex Ferguson’s team would have pipped Chelsea in the title race, but both sides managed however to finish the last match of the season in style, Chelsea dominated Wigan beating them by an amazing 8-0, whilst Manchester United win Stoke by 4 goals to nil but whatever they scored would still leave them in second place one point behind Chelsea.

Although the 2010/11 season does not start until 14th August 2010 the bookmakers William Hill have already placed Chelsea as favourites to win the title again next season. Although Chelsea left it until the final day of the season they have had a very comfortable home season and only waivered a few times away from home.

Chelsea are the bookmakers favourites to lift the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday at best odds of 2/5 with Ladbrokes whilst opponets, Everton, are 7/4 to win their first piece of silverware since last winning the FA Cup in 1995.

Get a £25 Free Bet when you bet on the FA Cup Final with Ladbrokes

Chelsea last won the FA Cup in 2007 under Jose Mourinho but four managers later, they have not won anything since. Current manager Guus Hiddink is set to step down after this game and after being in contention for the Premier and Champions League just a month ago, the Dutchman and Chelsea fans alike will be desperate to finish the season on a high.

Everton will be equally as desperate to finish the season on a high and after being crowned Premier League manager of the season, David Moyes will be hoping that he can secure his first major honour as Everton boss.

Fa Cup Final Odds (90 Minutes)
Chelsea – 8/11
Everton – 9/2
Draw – 23/10

The two league meetings between the sides this season both finished 0-0 and whilst neutrals will be hoping for a more entertaining game at Wembley, there is every chance that this is going to be another close game and a third consecutive goalless draw is priced at 7/1. That would result in a likely penalty shootout, for which, Everton are priced at 10/1 and Chelsea 8/1 to lift the cup as a reuslt of winning after spot kicks.

Correct Score Odds

Wednesday’s Premiership clash between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge is a great example of the irony that football can often present. It is the first game that after both teams will play after triumphing in last weekend’s respective FA Cup Semi Finals and ironically it will be a dress rehearsal for when the sides next meet on Saturday 30th May 2009.

Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 in Saturday’s first Semi Final and Everton overcame Man Utd on penalties following a 0-0 draw in Sunday’s second Semi Final. Bookmakers Ladbrokes have installed Chelsea as the 4/9 favourites for Wednesday’s live Sky Sports game and the Blues are also favourites to win the FA Cup at a not too much bigger price of 1/2. Ladbrokes also make Everton are 6/4 to win the FA Cup but are much bigger at 7/1 to win at Stamford Bridge, a result that would end Chelsea’s outside chances of winning the Premier League.

The stats don’t provide much hope for the Toffees who have not beaten Chelsea in 21 times of asking, last beating the Blues back in 2001 and their last win at Stamford Bridge cam back in the 1994/95 season – the same season that Everton last won the FA Cup.

Anyone having a bet on this game will surely have to side with Guus Hiddink’s men who have lost just once in all competitions since the Dutchman took charge in February and Didider Drogba, match winner for Chelsea over Arsenal at Wembley is the man who has been responsible for most of the goals during that sequenece of impressive results. Drogba has scored 9 times in the 12 games he has played under Hiddink, including scoring in each of the last four games and looks a sure fire bet to score at any time against Everton and at 11/10 with Victor Chandler, it is hard to put you off and the same firm go 4/1 that he scores the first goal in the game.

Following from the sidelining of Robbie Keane from this weekends Merseyside FA Cup debry fixture speculation is rife that Liverpool will be looking to off load the out of favour striker. As Everton have no prolific strikers they are the likely candidates to try and snap up the Liverpool striker.

The striker who has been involved with 6 clubs during his career including Coventry City and Tottenham Hotspur was hoping to stay at Liverpool at team he has supported since a child. His total transfer value has been £58,300,000 during which he has scored 138 goals in the process, working out to be £422,463 per goal!

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “It’s all gone wrong for Robbie and looks to be more a case of when and not if he moves on from Liverpool. Our punters think the game is up at Anfield and want to bet on where he goes next but the problem for Keane might be that there are few clubs in the current climate that can afford him.”

If you do not already have an account with Paddy Power you can be eligible for a free £30 bet with their matched bet offer.

Where to next for Robbie Keane?

5/2 Everton

9/2 Aston Villa

5/1 Sunderland

Everton travel to local rivals Wigan for some Monday night football action, shown live on Setanta Sports 1.
Everton have won their last two away trips and go into this match as the favourites to win at 7/4, and 9/4 for the draw, the home side are looking at odds of 13/8 for the win. Boylesport are giving odds of 11/2 for Amr Zaki to be the first goal scorer and 13/2 for Everton’s Yakubu to stike first.

Everton welcome crisis-stricken Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Sudnay for Sky Sport’s live match. Newcastle have lost their last five matches and new interim manager, Joe Kinnear, will have his work cut out if the Magpies are to put an end to their current run of awful form agaisnt Everton. The players morale must surely be as low as the fans who have made their opinions known about the current state of the club following Kevin Keegan’s depature and its ongoing sale.

Everton must surely be backed to add to Newcastle’s misery at odds of 3/4, this is despite the Toffees having yet to win a home game this season. David Moyes will see this as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways infront of their own fans. An Everton 3-0 victory looks a good bet at 12/1 with Paddypower and Yakubu cannot be overlooked for the first goalscorer at odds of 9/2.

If Yakubu scores the last goal in this game, Paddypower will refund all losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on this game.

It is the first Merseyside Derby of the season on Saturday, as Everton welcome neighbours Liverpool to Goodison Park. With the game live on Sky Sports (12:45 kick off) this clash is sure to be a popular betting event and bookmakers Paddy Power have installed Liverpool as the 11/10 favourites to win the game with Everton 5/2 and the draw is 11/5.

Everton have lost their first two home games, conceeding six goals in the process. Therefore, David Moyes will be hoping that the age old cliche about ‘form going out of the window in dery games’ is true as he looks to get his Everton side back to winning ways. Liverpool have started the season well and remain unbeaten after five games, lying just one point behind leaders Arsenal.

In recent years, the Merseyside Derby game at Goodison Park has been a happy hunting ground for Liverpool, winning six of the last eight encounters, whilst Everton have only taken six points from their rivals on home turf in eight years. Another interesting stat is that seven of the last eight meetings at Goodison have seen three or more goals scored in the game which makes the even money with paddypower.com about this trend continuing look like a good value bet.

The Paddypower cashback offer for this game is if either Tim Cahill or Steven Gerrard score the last goal in this game then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on the match.

Fernando Torres is the favourite to be the first goalscorer at odds of 9/2 with Robbie Keane second favourite at 13/2 to get both the first goal of this game and first goal in a Liverpool shirt. Everton’s biggest goal threat comes in the form of Yakubu who is 7/1 to give the Blue half of Merseysdie the lead.
