Chelsea last won the FA Cup in 2007 under Jose Mourinho but four managers later, they have not won anything since. Current manager Guus Hiddink is set to step down after this game and after being in contention for the Premier and Champions League just a month ago, the Dutchman and Chelsea fans alike will be desperate to finish the season on a high.

Everton will be equally as desperate to finish the season on a high and after being crowned Premier League manager of the season, David Moyes will be hoping that he can secure his first major honour as Everton boss.

Fa Cup Final Odds (90 Minutes)
Chelsea – 8/11
Everton – 9/2
Draw – 23/10

The two league meetings between the sides this season both finished 0-0 and whilst neutrals will be hoping for a more entertaining game at Wembley, there is every chance that this is going to be another close game and a third consecutive goalless draw is priced at 7/1. That would result in a likely penalty shootout, for which, Everton are priced at 10/1 and Chelsea 8/1 to lift the cup as a reuslt of winning after spot kicks.

Chelsea v Everton Premiership Odds Favour Blues in Cup Final Dress Rehearsal

April 21, 2009

Wednesday’s Premiership clash between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge is a great example of the irony that football can often present. It is the first game that after both teams will play after triumphing in last weekend’s respective FA Cup Semi Finals and ironically it will be a dress rehearsal for when the sides next meet on Saturday 30th May 2009.

Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 in Saturday’s first Semi Final and Everton overcame Man Utd on penalties following a 0-0 draw in Sunday’s second Semi Final. Bookmakers Ladbrokes have installed Chelsea as the 4/9  favourites for Wednesday’s live Sky Sports game and the Blues are also favourites to win the FA Cup at a not too much bigger price of 1/2.  Ladbrokes also make Everton are 6/4 to win the FA Cup but are much bigger at 7/1 to win at Stamford Bridge, a result that would end Chelsea’s outside chances of winning the Premier League.

The stats don’t provide much hope for the Toffees who have not beaten Chelsea in 21 times of asking, last beating the Blues back in 2001 and their last win at Stamford Bridge cam back in the 1994/95 season – the same season that Everton last won the FA Cup.

Anyone having a bet on this game will surely have to side with Guus Hiddink’s men who have lost just once in all competitions since the Dutchman took charge in February and Didider Drogba, match winner for Chelsea over Arsenal at Wembley is the man who has been responsible for most of the goals during that sequenece of impressive results. Drogba has scored 9 times in the 12 games he has played under Hiddink, including scoring in each of the last four games and looks a sure fire bet to score at any time against Everton and at 11/10 with Victor Chandler, it is hard to put you off and the same firm go 4/1 that he scores the first goal in the game.

Paddy Power offer odds on Robbie Keanes next club

January 26, 2009

Following from the sidelining of Robbie Keane from this weekends Merseyside FA Cup debry fixture speculation is rife that Liverpool will be looking to off load the out of favour striker.  As Everton have no prolific strikers they are the likely candidates to try and snap up the Liverpool striker.

The striker who has been involved with 6 clubs during his career including Coventry City and Tottenham Hotspur  was hoping to stay at Liverpool at team he has supported since a child.  His total transfer value has been £58,300,000 during which he has scored 138 goals in the process, working out to be £422,463 per goal!

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “It’s all gone wrong for Robbie and looks to be more a case of when and not if he moves on from Liverpool. Our punters think the game is up at Anfield and want to bet on where he goes next but the problem for Keane might be that there are few clubs in the current climate that can afford him.”

If you do not already have an account with Paddy Power you can be eligible for a free £30 bet with their matched bet offer.

Where to next for Robbie Keane?

  • 5/2 Everton
  • 9/2 Aston Villa
  • 5/1 Sunderland

  • 11/2 Man City
  • 12/1 Celtic

Everton have won their last two away trips and go into this match as the favourites to win at 7/4, and 9/4 for the draw, the home side are looking at odds of 13/8 for the win. Boylesport are giving odds of 11/2 for Amr Zaki to be the first goal scorer and 13/2 for Everton’s Yakubu to stike first.

Everton v Newcastle Betting and Cash Back Offer

October 2, 2008

Everton welcome crisis-stricken Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Sudnay for Sky Sport’s live match. Newcastle have lost their last five matches and new interim manager, Joe Kinnear, will have his work cut out if the Magpies are to put an end to their current run of awful form agaisnt Everton. The players morale must surely be as low as the fans who have made their opinions known about the current state of the club following Kevin Keegan’s depature and its ongoing sale.

Everton must surely be backed to add to Newcastle’s misery at odds of 3/4, this is despite the Toffees having yet to win a home game this season. David Moyes will see this as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways infront of their own fans. An Everton 3-0 victory looks a good bet at 12/1 with Paddypower and Yakubu cannot be overlooked for the first goalscorer at odds of 9/2.

If Yakubu scores the last goal in this game, Paddypower will refund all losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on this game.

Everton v Liverpool Merseyside Derby Betting Offer

September 25, 2008

It is the first Merseyside Derby of the season on Saturday, as Everton welcome neighbours Liverpool to Goodison Park. With the game live on Sky Sports (12:45 kick off) this clash is sure to be a popular betting event and bookmakers Paddy Power have installed Liverpool as the 11/10 favourites to win the game with Everton 5/2 and the draw is 11/5.

Everton have lost their first two home games, conceeding six goals in the process. Therefore, David Moyes will be hoping that the age old cliche about ‘form going out of the window in dery games’ is true as he looks to get his Everton side back to winning ways. Liverpool have started the season well and remain unbeaten after five games, lying just one point behind leaders Arsenal.

In recent years, the Merseyside Derby game at Goodison Park has been a happy hunting ground for Liverpool, winning six of the last eight encounters, whilst Everton have only taken six points from their rivals on home turf in eight years. Another interesting stat is that seven of the last eight meetings at Goodison have seen three or more goals scored in the game which makes the even money with paddypower.com about this trend continuing look like a good value bet.

The Paddypower cashback offer for this game is if either Tim Cahill or Steven Gerrard score the last goal in this game then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on the match.

Fernando Torres is the favourite to be the first goalscorer at odds of 9/2 with Robbie Keane second favourite at 13/2 to get both the first goal of this game and first goal in a Liverpool shirt. Everton’s biggest goal threat comes in the form of Yakubu who is 7/1 to give the Blue half of Merseysdie the lead.

Everton Odds v Standard Liege in Uefa Cup

September 17, 2008

Everton odds to beat Standard Liege in the first leg of the Uefa Cup first round clash between the sides at Goodison Park on Thursday see David Moyes’s men as 8/11 favourites to win with Bet365. The Belgian Champions, Liege, will be confident of upsetting the odds after holding Everton’s City neighbours, Liverpool, to a goalless draw after 180 minutes and two legs of football in the Champions League qualifier recently. It was only a late Dirk Kuyt winner that seperated the teams on that occasion and Everton will know that they have their work cut out if they are to qualify for the group stages of the Uefa Cup.

Everton are currently 25/1 with Paddypower to win the Uefa Cup and must get off to a winning start, making home advantage count, as needing to get a win in Liege could prove difficult. Everton’s new midfielder, Marouane Fellaini, recently signed from Liege and is sure to prove a popular selection to socre the first goal of the game but Yakubu has been the man in goalscoring form for the Toffees and 4/1 for him to open the scoring on Thursday night looks a good bet.

Correct Score, Half-Time/Full-Time or Scorecast bets are refunding at Bet365 if this game finishes 0-0.

Everton v Chelsea Premier League Free Bet Offer

April 15, 2008

Emile Heskey’s 90th minute equaliser for Wigan at Stamford Bridge on Monday night gave a huge boost to Manchester United’s title hopes, whilst putting a major dent in those of Avram Grant’s side. The Blues are now out to 10/1 to win the league but their supporters will still harbour some hopes with United still to play at Stamford Bridge, however, if they are to go in to that game with any hope of reclaiming the Premier League title from Old Trafford, three points at Everton in Thrusday’s live Sky game is a must.

Everton still have one eye on Champions League qualification through finishing fourth but are still hoping for a slip up from rivals Liverpool, however three points against Chelsea would put the pressure on Liverpool and David Moyes side will be confident of adding to Chelsea’s misery.

If you plan to ahve a bet on this live Skysports match, Paddypower are offering to refund al bets placed on the game if Frank Lampard scores the last goal of the game.
