The World Cup is over time to concentrate on Euro 2012
July 12, 2010
Well the World Cup in South Africa is now officially over and the team that were tipped to win it from the start walked away with the trophy in one of the most bitter fought if not prettiest game of football in the 2010 World Cup. The tournament threw up quite a few surprises and early than expected exits some of the worlds “larger” teams, however we did not get to see the fairytale ending that would have seen Ghana in the final instead it was an all European fixture. Which brings us to the next major football event the 2012 European Championships which will be hosted by Poland and Ukraine between 8 June and 1 July 2012.

Soldier Steve is the initial favourite to win Big Brother 11
June 10, 2010
The final ever Big Brother (well unless something amazing happens this series and Channel 4 commissions another series or another channel buys up the rights) kicked off last night with the lovely Davina McCall who introduced the 13 contestants chosen at random initially entering the house out of a 81 potential contestants. They were followed shortly after by Mario who has had to go into the house dressed as a mole and be an actual mole by performing an impossible task for Big Brother without the other house mates knowing it was him, if he gets away with by June 14th this he will named as the 14th housemate.
His odds of getting away with this are slim with Paddy Power offering him just 6/4 of succeeding and 1/2 on his failure, whatever happens they will all be losers as they will miss out on the 2010 World Cup and could miss out on England lifting the trophy!.
The make up of the house mates look like typically Big Brother contestants with amongst the cattle we have the Jordan wannabee, the wacky dresser, and a posh person the only one that stands out is Steve an ex serviceman who could easily win the public hearts as he lost an eye and both legs whilst doing a tour of duty in Belfast.
Big Brother 2010 outright winner
As all the contestants tend to blend into one annoying contestant over the duration of the show we have only listed the ones that we consider will have any chance of winning, all odds are supplied by specialist bookmaker Paddy Power.

The game should be quite an emphatic opening win for Fabio Capello’s team but the long odds for a surprise USA win could be quite tempting…….

Will penalties be Englands failing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa
May 31, 2010
England fans are clearly disappointed in the result yesterday when England took on Japan in their final pre World Cup friendly. The result may have gone England’s way (England won 2-1) but the fact that Japan had scored all the goals in game (including 2 own goals) soured the result. If this is how we play against a fairly mediocre team, who are currently placed 45 in the FIFA rankings system compared to England’s number 8 position.
Another major disappointment from the match was the failing of midfielder Frank Lampard to score from the spot. The Chelsea player was denied by Japan’s keeper Eiji Kawashima who saved the penalty that was awarded in the 10th minute of the second half following Keisuke Honda’s handball in the area. Whether Lampard will be the choice take penalties in the World Cup will be a decision England head coach Fabio Capello must seriously consider.
World Cup Penalty specials
- 10/3 – England to miss first World Cup Penalty
- 1/5 – England to score first World Cup Penalty
- 7/2 – England to win a penalty shoot out during 2010 World Cup
- 7/2 – England to be eliminated from World Cup via penatly shoot out

Spain are still looking to be 2010 World Cup favourites
May 17, 2010
There are just 24 days to go before men across the United Kingdom will be able to reclaim the remote controls for their HD television as they stock the fridge and prepare the sofa for the most exciting tournament on the footballing calendar. Panic over as Terry returns to training
May 13, 2010
The scare that was reported yesterday that England (and Chelsea) defender John Terry had broken the dreaded metatarsal bone in his right foot (the bone that no-one had heard of and probably never even existed before David Beckham broke his in 2002) has seen several bookmakers adjust their odds on England’s chances of winning the 2010 World Cup. The bookmakers Stan James changed their odds for England to win up to 6/1 from previous odds of 11/2.
However it seems that the panic that was going through England fans heads yesterday was unfounded as today it has been reported that John Terry has attended training with Chelsea today in preparation for his sides clash against Portsmouth at Wembley on Saturday for the FA Cup Final. According to the BBC sports website Terry is fully expected to now play in the match and therefore will be fully fit to be in Fabio Capello’s squad that goes to the World Cup in South Africa.
World Cup Outright Winner
Odds are supplied by Stan James and if you place a bet with them on the outright winner and Spain end up winning they will return your losing stake as a free bet.

- 6/1 – England
