Chelsea v Barcelona Odds – Lionel Messi Money-Back Special

April 18, 2012

Chelsea v BarcelonaWednesday, April 18th (ITV 1, 7.45pm)

Champions League rivals Chelsea and Barcelona lock horns at Stamford Bridge tonight in what promises to be an entertaining semi-final first-leg. While Barcelona are aiming to become the first team to win back-to-back Champions League trophies, Chelsea are gunning to avenge the last-gasp Andrés Iniesta equaliser that led to their heartbreaking exit at this stage three years ago. Despite having home advantage Chelsea go into the match as the 7/2 outsiders, with Barcelona the odds-on 3/4 favourites for the win, while a draw is available at 14/5.

Since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas Chelsea have been in great form, losing once in just 12 matches. Under interim boss Robert Di Matteo they have been very impressive, exemplified by their fine 5-1 win against Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final last Sunday. However, whether they will be able to cope with Lionel Messi and co is debatable. Pep Guardiola’s men have lost just once in their last 34 matches in all competitions and have won seven of their last eight away games on the road. They are undefeated in the Champions League this season and in the previous round they knocked-out Italian giants AC Milan.

Since their first meeting in 2000, the teams have met nine further times in the competition. Their head-to-head record could not be closer, with each side winning three matches, with the other four draws. However, this season the advantage is most definitely with Barcelona who are the hot favourites to go on to win the cup. Chelsea can be backed at 13/1 to record a 2-1 win, while Barcelona are available at 7/1 to win 2-1 or 12/1 to come away from Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 advantage.

It comes as no surprise to see the majestic Lionel Messi top the first goalscorer market with odds of 13/5 but if he scores the last goal, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscroer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match. The 24-year-old has scored an incredible 63 goals so far this season and is currently the top scorer in the competition with 14 goals. Next in the running is Alexis Sanchez at 6/1 and Cesc Fàbregas at 15/2. Pedro has been handed odds of 8/1 to score the opening goal, while Andrés Iniesta is available at 10/1. Chelsea’s in-form striker Didier Drogba is definitely worth a bet at 8/1, with Fernando Torres at 9/1 and Frank Lampard at 11/1.

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid Odds – Christiano Ronaldo Special

April 17, 2012

Bayern Munich v Real MadridTuesday, April 17th (Sky Sports 2 , 7.45pm)

Bayern Munich welcome Real Madrid to the Allianz Arena tonight for the first-leg of their crunch Champions League semi-final. The match promises to be an enthralling encounter between two exciting teams with enviable European pedigrees. Both sides boast a multitude of superstars who thrive on occasions such as these and the match has all the ingredients to be an absolute thriller. Paddy Power have installed Bayern as the narrow 13/8 favourites to win the first-leg, while Real are available at 17/10 to take a win back to the Bernabeu, with a draw priced at 23/10.

Bayern Munich finished top of a difficult Group A qualifying group and have since brushed aside Basel in the round of 16 and Marseille in the quarter-finals, without even conceding a goal. However, their domestic league form has come unstuck in the last week following a defeat to leaders Borussia Dortmund and a disappointing goalless draw at home to Mainz, which puts them eight points off top spot with just three games remaining, meaning a 23rd Bundesliga title is now extremely unlikely. Their main focus will therefore be the Champions League and if the likes of Frank Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mario Gomez are firing on all cylinders then they will definitely be a match for their Spanish opponents.

Jose Mourinho knows that a win or score draw at the Allianz Arena will put Real in a great position come the second-leg at the Bernabeu next Wednesday. His team are currently on a stupendous run of form and are undefeated in 20 matches in all competitions. They have won nine and drawn one of their 10 Champions League matches so far and in the quarter-finals hammered Apoel Nicosia 8-2 on aggregate. They currently top La Liga, leading fierce rivals Barcelona by four points, but their supporters would love nothing more than a first Champions League trophy for 10 years.

Bayern have never lost at home to Real and have won 12 of their last 13 Champions League games at the Allianz Arena. They can be backed at 8/1 to win 2-1, while a 1-0 victory is priced at 17/2. Real can be found at 17/2 to come away with a 2-1 win, while a 2-2 draw is available at a tempting 10/1.

The match pits together two of the most lethal strikers in world football – Christiano Ronaldo and Mario Gomez. Ronaldo, who leads the first goalscorer betting at 4/1, has been in unstoppable form in La Liga this season, with an incredible 41 goals, as well as eight goals in eight Champions League appearances. If the Portuguese player scores the last goal, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match. Meanwhile Gomez has 11 goals in this season’s competitions and looks a good bet at 9/2 to score first.

Real simply love scoring, having fired in three or more goals in six of their last seven matches. They can score goals from all areas of the pitch, with Karim Benzema available at 13/2 and Gonzalo Higuaín at 15/2 to open the scoring. Elsewhere Kaka, Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil have all been priced at 11/1. Meanwhile, Bayern have Arjen Robben at 6/1, Ivica Olić at 8/1 and both Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller at 9/1 to score the game’s first goal.

Arsenal v Wigan Betting – Robin Van Persie Special

April 16, 2012

Arsenal v WiganMonday, April 16th (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

Arsenal take on Wigan at the Emirates Stadium tonight in a meeting between two in-form teams. While Arsenal look to be on their way to a 3rd place finish, Wigan’s hopes of survival have recently been given a huge boost. The Gunners head into the match as the hot 2/7 favourites for the win, while Wigan can be backed at 9/1 to come away with their second shock win in just under a week, with a draw priced at 9/2. If Robin van Persie scores the last goal in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.

Three wins from their last four league games have moved Wigan up to 17th in the table and two points above the relegation zone. A week ago a win at the Emirates would have seemed an impossible task but after beating league leaders Man Utd on Wednesday – for the first in 14 attempts – they will head into tonight’s match with renewed optimism. However, their record against Arsenal is just as poor, with only one win in 13 Premier League meetings, although they did manage to hold Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the DW Stadium last season.

Arsenal have been in scintillating form of late, winning nine of their last 10 league games. A sixth consecutive home league win tonight  will put them eight points clear of 4th-placed Tottenham and within touching distance of the third Champions League qualification spot. Despite Wigan’s recent revival an Arsenal win should be on the cards, especially considering that Arsene Wenger’s men have won all nine  home matches against their opponents.

Arsenal can be backed at 9/1 to win 3-1, while a 2-0 victory is available at 11/2. Wigan have scored in all of their last seven away matches and will be eager to score an early goal at the Emirates. The Latics are priced at 30/1 to come away with a shock 1-0 win, while a 1-1 draw can be found at 9/1. Arsenal dominate the first goalscorer odds, with Robin Van Persie the 2/1 favourite. Theo Walcott has been handed odds of 5/1, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at 13/2 and Mikel Arteta at 9/1. Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega can be backed at 12/1 to open the scoring, with Franco Di Santo and Conor Sammon both at 14/1.

QPR v Swansea Odds – Adel Taarabt anytime goal special

April 11, 2012

QPR v SwanseaWednesday 11th April (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

QPR and Swansea go head-to-head at Loftus Road tonight, with QPR desperate for a valuable win to boost their survival prospects and Swansea gunning for the three points to get them back in contention for a top 10 finish. Ladbrokes have priced QPR as the 23/20 favourites for the win, while Swansea have been handed odds of 5/2, with a draw available at 23/10.

QPR go into the match with a decent home record, having beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and most recently Arsenal at Loftus Road this season. They are currently above the relegation zone on goal difference meaning a win tonight will move them three points clear with five games remaining. Swansea have recently sunk down to 14th following three consecutive defeats. Brendan Rodgers will be eager to halt his side’s wobbly run snd get them back to winning ways in order to improve their chances of finishing in the top half of the table.

The teams played out a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium earlier this season but QPR thumped Swansea 4-0 at Loftus Road last season. Mark Hughes’ men can be backed at 8/1 to record a 2-1 win, while a 1-0 victory is available at 13/2. Swansea have won three of their last five games on the road and they can be found at 10/1 to come away with a 2-1 win, with a 1-1 draw at 11/2. Bobby Zamora tops the first goalscorer betting with odds of 5/1, while Adel Taarabt can be backed at 6/1. Ladbrokes will refund losing first goalscorer bets in the match if the Moroccan midfielder scores at any point.  Meanwhile Jay Bothroyd, Dudley Campbell and Heidar Helguson are all available at 7/1 to open the scoring. Swansea’s Danny Graham has also been handed odds of 7/1 to score first, with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Scott Sinclair both at 8/1.

Blackburn v Liverpool Odds – Yakubu 6/1 to open scoring

April 10, 2012

Blackburn v LiverpoolTuesday 10th April (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

Blackburn Rovers host Liverpool at Ewood Park tonight in a clash between two out-of-form sides. While Blackburn have lost three consecutive matches, Liverpool have won just one of their last nine league games. Nonetheless it is Liverpool who have been installed as the 11/10 favourites, with Blackburn available at 5/2 and a draw priced at 12/5. If Blackburn win this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

Steve Kean’s men may have suffered three straight defeats but they will view tonight’s match against Liverpool as an excellent opportunity to get their survival hopes back on track, with a win or draw enough to lift them out of the relegation zone into 16th place. Liverpool are currently in 8th place and in real danger of finishing outside of the top 10. They don’t have the greatest record at Ewood Park having just won one of their last five visits, going down 3-1 last season, and with only pride left to play for in the league, they will definitely have more than one eye on Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley against rivals Everton.

Rovers can be backed at 10/1 to win 2-1, while the reverse scoreline is available at 15/2. With both teams struggling for form the honours could easily be shared, with a 2-2 draw at 11/1. Luis Suarez leads the first goalscorer market with odds of 9/2, while Andy Carroll is priced at 11/2 and Craig Bellamy at 6/1. Blackburn’s Yakubu can be found at 6/1, with both David Goodwillie and Jordan Slew handed odds of 9/1 to score the opener.

Chelsea v Benfica Betting – Fernando Torres 5/1 to score first

April 4, 2012

Chelsea v BenficaWednesday 4th April (ITV1, 7:45pm)

Chelsea host Benfica at Stamford Bridge tonight looking to progress through to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Chelsea recorded a deserved 1-0 victory in Portugal last week but their progress through to the final four is by no means assured meaning they will be gunning to get off to a bright start in order to ease the nerves. Robert Di Matteo’s men are available as the 4/5 favourites to win the match and short priced at 1/8 to qualify for the next round and set up a mouthwatering match with defending champions Barcelona. Meanwhile Benfica can be backed at 9/2 to win tonight and also 9/2 to upset the odds and progress through to the semi-finals.

Chelsea will be confident of reaching the next stage having lost just one of their last nine Champions League games at Stamford Bridge, including all four home games so far this season. They have a team packed full of experienced playersand should be too strong for a Benfica side who disappointed in the first-leg. However, while the away goal was crucial, if Benfica score early on at Stamford Bridge then Chelsea will have a real game on their hands.

The Blues have been handed odds of 13/2 to beat Benfica 2-0, while another narrow 1-0 win is available at 11/2. A draw would also be enough, with a 1-1 scoreline available at 13/2. Benfica have recorded two wins on the road in the competition and also held Man Utd to a creditable 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. The Portuguese side can be backed at 11/1 to win 1-0 and take the game into extra time, while a 2-1 win is priced at 14/1.

Didier Drogba leads the first goalscorer market with odds of 9/2, while Fernando Torres is available at 5/1. If the Spaniard scores the last goal, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard can both be found at 6/1, with Salomon Kalou at 8/1. Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo and Nolito are also both priced at 8/1 to open the scoring.

Lionel Messi First Goalscorer Special With Paddy Power

April 3, 2012

Barcelona v AC MilanTuesday 3rd April (Sky Sports 2, 7:45pm)

Barcelona and AC Milan meet at the Nou Camp tonight for the second-leg of their Champions League quarter-final. Milan somehow prevented Barcelona from scoring in the first-leg but it is likely to be a different story tonight. Paddy Power have installed Barcelona as the short priced 3/10 favourites to win the match and at 1/6 to progress through to the semi-finals. Meanwhile Milan have long odds of 10/1 to win at the Nou Camp and 7/2 to qualify.

The teams played out a goalless draw at the San Siro last week and Milan will once again look to put on another solid defensively display. However, they will find life very difficult against Lionel Messi and co, especially considering Barcelona’s impressive record on home soil, with the Spanish giants winning 12 of their last 14 Champions League games at the Nou Camp. Pep Guardiola’s men head into the match as the overwhelming favourites but an early goal for Milan could dramatically change matters. They managed to hold Barcelona to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season and another score draw tonight would see them upset the odds and go through to the last four of the competition.

Barcelona are available at 11/2 to win the match 2-0 and 17/2 to record a 3-1 victory. Milan will attempt to frustrate their opponents for as long as possible and if they go into half-time level then they will be confident of causing an upset. Massimiliano Allegri’s men can be backed at 25/1 to win 1-0, while a 1-1 draw is priced at 10/1.

Lionel Messi leads the first goalscorer market with odds of 2/1 and if the Argentine does open the scoring Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Alexis Sanchez has been handed odds of 4/1 to score first, with Cesc Fàbregas at 9/2 and Pedro at 5/1. Zlatan Ibrahimović is available at 11/1, with Robinho priced at 14/1.

Blackburn v Man Utd Betting – Wayne Rooney Special

April 2, 2012

Blackburn v Man UtdMonday 2nd April (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United lock horns at Ewood Park tonight in a match both sides are desperate to win. While United will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points, Rovers have the chance to move three points clear of the relegation zone. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have been installed as the hot 2/5 priced favourites, while Rovers can be backed at 15/2 to claim a rare double over their opponents, with a draw available at 7/2. If Wayne Rooney scores the last goal, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

Rovers stunned United at Old Trafford back in December when they came away 3-2 winners. However, United’s league form has been stunning since that surprise defeat, with the league leaders winning nine and drawing one of their last 11 matches. They head into the game on the back of six consecutive league wins and will be gunning to make that seven following City’s draw with Sunderland on Saturday. They come up against a Rovers side who are certainly capable of dishing out another upset but will need to be on top form if they are to have any chance of doing so.

United are available at 6/1 to come away with a 2-0 win, while a 2-1 scoreline is available at 13/2. Despite their league troubles this season Blackburn haven’t been shy in front of goal and have scored in eight of their last nine games at Ewood Park. The home side can be backed at 20/1 to win 2-1, while a 2-2 draw is available at 14/1. Wayne Rooney is available at 13/5 to score the first goal of the game, with Javier Hernandez at 4/1 and Danny Welbeck at 9/2. Meanwhile Blackburn’s Yakubu could well be worth a bet at 15/2 to score the opening goal.

Newcastle v Liverpool Odds – Papiss Cisse Good Bet To Open Scoring

March 29, 2012

Newcastle Utd v Liverpool – Sunday 1st April (Sky Sports 1, 1.30pm)

Newcastle host Liverpool at St James’ Park this Sunday live on Sky Sports 1. A few weeks ago this would have been billed as a crunch clash in the running for a top four finish, but Liverpool’s subsequent demise in the league means they have slipped out of contention. Despite their stuttering form Liverpool have been installed as the 7/5 favourites, while Newcastle looking good value at 15/8. The match is also priced at 12/5 to finish all square. If Liverpool lead at anytime but fail to win, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Back-to-back defeats to lowly QPR and Wigan leave Liverpool a whopping 13 points off fourth spot with just eight matches remaining. With a Champions League qualification spot now seemingly out of the question their main focus will be the FA Cup. However, The Reds will still at least want to finish in the top seven, a position that is currently under threat with the likes of Sunderland, Everton, Swansea and Norwich hot on their heels. Meanwhile, Newcastle still harbour hopes of finishing in the top four. The Magpies have had an impressive season so far and with eight league games left to play they find themselves in 6th spot, level on points with Chelsea and five points adrift of 4th place Tottenham. Alan Pardew’s men put on a fine attacking display away to West Brom last Sunday and will be keen to get off to another flying start this Sunday as they aim to record their third consecutive win.

The winner of this fixture has scored at least three goals in the last seven meetings between the sides, so expect goals. Newcastle are available at 9/2 to win 2-1, while a 3-1 victory could be worth a bet at 22/1. Liverpool will be keen to bounce back from their recent defeats and can be backed at 8/1 to come away with a 2-1 win, with a 2-2 draw is priced at 11/1. The in-form Papiss Cisse is available at 11/2 in the first goalscorer betting, while striker partner Demba Ba has been handed odds of 6/1, with Hatem Ben Arfa at 9/1. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez has odds of 11/2 to open the scoring, with Craig Bellamy at 13/2 and Steven Gerrard at 15/2.

AC Milan v Barcelona Odds – Lionel Messi Special

March 28, 2012

AC Milan v Barcelona - Wednesday 28th March (ITV1, 7.45pm)

AC Milan and Barcelona go head-to-head for the third time this season in what promises to be a cracking Champions League quarter-final at the San Siro. Defending champions Barcelona have been installed as the short priced 8/11 favourites for the win, while Milan have been handed odds of 4/1, which is good value for a team playing at home, especially considering that the Italian giants are undefeated in 14 Champions League quarter-final matches at the San Siro. A draw is also available at 13/5. If Clarence Seedorf or Lionel Messi scores the last goal of this game Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

Milan are currently top of Serie A and head into the match on the back of four consecutive wins in all competitions. They thumped Arsenal 4-0 at the San Siro in their last match at home in the competition but nearly blew it when they lost 3-0 at the Emirates. They will look to put that second-leg behind them as they hope to repeat the feat of fierce rivals Inter Milan who knocked Barcelona out in the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2010, after an impressive defensive display.

Milan come up against the defending champions and arguably one of the best club sides of all time. Barcelona have now won nine matches in a row in all competitions and on top of that have tasted victory in their last six away games in the Champions League. In Lionel Messi they have a striker who is simply on fire at the moment. In his match in the competition he fired five past Bayer Leverkusen and following his goal at the weekend he has taken his season’s tally to a  whopping 55 goals.

The teams are no strangers to each other having met earlier this season in the group stages. They played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp, before Barcelona came out 3-2 winners at the San Siro. Barcelona are the favourites to record another win in Italy and have been handed odds of 13/2 to come away with a 2-1 win, while another 3-2 victory is available at 33/1. Milan can be backed at 13/1 to win 2-1, while a 2-2 draw is priced at 11/1.

The incredible Messi leads the first goalscorer betting with odds of 3/1. However, Barcelona have a number of other players capable of causing Milan problems, with Alexis Sanchez at 6/1 and Pedro, Cesc Fàbregas and Cristian Tello all priced at 7/1 to open the scoring, while Xavi has odds of 9/1 and Andrés Iniesta is at 10/1. Former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in great form this season and can be backed at 7/1 to score first, while Robinho could be worth a bet at 10/1.
