Boylesports offering to refund stakes if your horse is placed second during the Cheltenham Festival

The bookmakers Boylesports have launched a promotion on the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.
They are offering to refund bets if the horse you back is placed second during the first four races namely the Supreme Novices Hurdle, Arkle Challenge Trophy, Festival Handicap Chase and the Champion Hurdle.
In last years festival Get Me Out Of Here finished as runner up in the Supreme Novices at odds of 9/2, Somersby was second in the Arkle at odds of 4/1, in the Festival Handicap the 9/2 favourite the Package was pipped to the post and in the Champion Hurdle and Kyhber Kim at odds of 7/1 was second to Binocular. If there are similar results this year in the opening day of the four day festival the Boylesports could be looking to refund in excess of £1 million back to its customers on what is one of busiest horse racing days in the racing calendar.
The offer as always comes with some of the usual terms and conditions and has a maximum refund of £250 per customer; it only applies to the win part of singles and each way bets and not to singles as part of a multiple bet and bets must be placed before the start of the Champion Hurdle.

Stan James offering a standout price on Ruby Walsh being top jockey at Cheltenham

The bookmakers Stan James are offering odds of 7/4 for Ruby Walsh to be again named the top jockey at this years Cheltenham Festival. The Irish jockey has won the coveted award on five previous occasions in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. in 2005 the award went to Graham Lee and in 2007 Robert Thornton picked up the prize. The standard number of wins at the Festival to be crowned winner is normally around the 3 wins mark but in 2009 Ruby Walsh managed to ride home 7 winners.
The four day festival takes place from Tuesday 15th March through to Friday 18th March.
Ruby Walsh has been out of action for sometime with the broken leg he sustained in fall from Corrick Bridge at the Down Royal in November. In the event that Ruby does not make it to Cheltenham then they will refund stakes back to punters that place bet on the market today only.

Quevega already the favourite for the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle

The David Nicholson Mares Hurdle is a grade 2 national hunt race that is ran over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs and it will feature nine hurdles to jump and has a prize purse of around £90,000.
As part of their Countdown to Cheltenham promotional series the bookmakers Stan James have released their ante post odds for the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle which is scheduled to be the penultimate race on day one of this years Cheltenham Festival.

Bishopsfurze odds cut for 2011 Neptune Novices Hurdle

The race may not be taking place until March 2011 as part of the Cheltenham Festival but bookmakers Stan James have already released their ante post odds of this race.
They currently have the Paul Nicholls trained Al Ferof as joint favourite to win the race next year at odds of 10/1, matched by the Willie Mullens trained Zaidpour, if Mullins can win this race it will be the third time that he has claimied this race, winning it with Fiveforthree in 2008 and Mikael d’Haguenet in 2009 both ridden by jockey Ruby Walsh. One horse to look out for is dual bumper winner Bishopsfurze who has moved to 16/1 down from earlier odds of 25/1.
Last years event was won by Peddlers Cross ridden by Jason Maguire and trained by Donald McCain which was first for both trainer and jockey.

Big Bucks ridden by Ruby Walsh is favourite again for the Liverpool Hurdle

Day one of the Aintree Festival kicks off with the Liverpool Hurdle, it is a class 1 race for horses aged four years and over. The race is set to feature 9 runners over a distance of 3 miles and 110 yards with the going set to good to soft. This race only started in 2004 and all five previous winners had come from the top three placed horses in betting stakes.
The current (and hardly likely to change) favourite is last years favourite and winner Big Bucks ridden again by Ruby Walsh and trained by Paul Nicholls. They will be looking to capitalise on the excellent run this horse had at the Ladbrokes World Hurdle during this years Cheltenham Festival. Early odds on the 2010 Grand National favourites
