Is success on the cards for Newcastle’s return to the Premiership?
August 16, 2010
The Barclays Premier League has kicked off and there has already been one surprise so far with Blackpool winning their first games of the season. How will the other newcomers to the league fare tonight when the final game of the new season kicks off between Manchester United and Newcastle United. The other newcomers to the league West Brom were comfortably beaten 6-0 by Chelsea so with a win and loss for former Championship sides could tonight see a draw for Chris Hughton’s team.?
Newcastle make their return to the Premiership following their year in the Championship and emerged as the Championships strongest side but they have not managed a win at Old Trafford since September 2001, the last time the Magpies were in the Premiership their opening game was coincidently against Manchester United that time it ended 1-1.
Manchester United v Newcastle United match odds
The odds supplied by Betfred do not bode well for Newcastle for their return Premiership match.

Odds are pointing to Chelsea lifting the FA Cup on Saturday
May 14, 2010
The most famous football match other than the World Cup takes place at Wembley Stadium this coming Saturday when Premier League champions take on relegated and in administration Portsmouth in what could be one of the most interesting cup finals of recent years. It has already been decided by the FA that if Portsmouth win the match then they will not be eligible to play in Europe next season as a penalty for being the first Premiership team to go into administration.
Chelsea go into the game with the good news that team captain John Terry will be match fit following the recent scare that he had broken his metatarsal proved to be nothing more than a bruise, had it been broken he would have been forced to pull out of the England squad ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. However Chelsea look like being without Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel whilst Portsmouth could be without Jamie O’Hara, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marc Wilson.
Chelsea v Portsmouth match odds
Odds are supplied by Paddy Power and are for the 90 minute market, the odds for Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea side to lift the cup are 1/25 and for Avram Grant’s Portsmouth team it is 17/2.
- 1/5 – Chelsea win
- 11/2 – Draw
- 12/1 – Portsmouth win
The bookmakers Paddy Power are running a cash back offer on the FA Cup final. The offer is if the Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard scores the final goal of the game in the first 90 minutes of play then they will refund all of the losing first and last goal scorers, as well as correct scores and scorecast singles made on the match.

Chelsea placed favourite to win the Premier League again next season
May 10, 2010
It was a nail biting finish to the 2009/10 Barclay’s Premier League season for Chelsea and Manchester United fans, Chelsea needed a least a draw to be installed as Champions but if they lost and United won then Sir Alex Ferguson’s team would have pipped Chelsea in the title race, but both sides managed however to finish the last match of the season in style, Chelsea dominated Wigan beating them by an amazing 8-0, whilst Manchester United win Stoke by 4 goals to nil but whatever they scored would still leave them in second place one point behind Chelsea.
Although the 2010/11 season does not start until 14th August 2010 the bookmakers William Hill have already placed Chelsea as favourites to win the title again next season. Although Chelsea left it until the final day of the season they have had a very comfortable home season and only waivered a few times away from home.
2010/11 Premier League Winners
- 13/8 – Chelsea
- 5/2 – Manchester United
- 11/2 – Manchester City
- 11/2 – Arsenal
- 12/1 – Liverpool
- 25/1 – Tottenham
- 150/1 – Everton
- 250/1 – Aston Villa

Get Your Money Back Should Gerrard or Fabregas Score Last
December 11, 2009
Liverpool take on Arsenal on Sunday afternoon with the match live on Sky Sports 1 and this is a very important match for both team for very different reasons. Liverpool need a win after what can only be described as an awful pre Christmas run and are in danger of not making the top four this season with both Man City and Spurs look like finishing above them. Having been knocked out of the Champions League, Rafa’s position is looking very shaky and he needs a win to keep his support from the Kop.
Arsenal for their part were given a lifeline in the Premier League with Man City taking three points off Chelsea and they now need to put a run together if they are to get into contention for the business end of the season.
Paddy Power are offering a good cash back where if either Steve Gerrard or Cesc Fabregas score the final goal then they will return all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
