Manchester United took a big dent to their title ambitions when they lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night and Sir Alex Ferguson was furious with the referees decisions that he believed cost his team a vital 3 points. Ferguson believes that the referee failed to run the game properly by not sending off David Luiz for a foul against Wayne Rooney which would have led to a second yellow card and that referee Martin Atkinson should not have given penalty when Chris Smalling fouled Yuri Zhirkov. The loss now sees second place Arsenal only 4 points away from catching up with the current league leaders.

This result has made the Liverpool v Manchester United game on Sunday even more important for Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish. A win is needed to try and catch up with Spurs who are in 5th place, currently Liverpool are at odds of 14/1 to obtain a top four finish to their season. If Liverpool can beat United it could stop Sir Alex’s side from claiming the Premier League title this season if Arsenal also win against Sunderland on Saturday. If this happens then Arsenal and United will only be separated by one point, leaving the race for the title open once again. United are at odds of 4/6 to claim the title with Arsenal at odds of 13/8.

Chelsea make the short journey to Craven Cottage to face Fulham for a Premier League clash. After Torres debut against Liverpool which saw Ancelotti’s side lose 1-0 has helped Chelsea now slip down to 5th in the table on 44 points, 13 points behind league leaders Manchester United and as such the Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has now written off the chances of his side retaining the Premier League title this season.

In the last 28 encounters over a period of 31 years Fulham have only managed to beat Chelsea on one occasion back in 2006. In Fulhams favour they have managed to win their last 3 Premier league games and have a kept a clean sheet.

All eyes are bound to be on the Chelsea strike force of Drogba and Torres to see if these two can play well together with Torres and Drogba both at odds of 4/1 to be the games first goal scorer.

14/5 – Draw

There is an offer that is available on the match comes from Stan James who are offering a special enhanced double price if both Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres score at any time during the match, they are at odds of 9/2 to both score at anytime during the game.

Manchester City travel to their arch enemies Manchester United this weekend and City manager Roberto Mancini will hoping to prove that his side are capable of catching up with the current Premier League leaders. City are just 5 points behind United and a win here will put them just 2 points behind them. However City have only managed to win on one occasion out of their last 26 visits to Old Trafford and have failed to score in the their last four games against the Red Devils.

For the Manchester debry in City’s favour will be that Manchester United unbeaten record was shattered last week by Wolves who are fighting it out in the relegation zone.

Man Utd v Man City match odds
All odds come courtesy of bookmakers Paddy Power

5/6 – Manchester United win

12/5 – Draw

As this is one of the biggest games of the season and certainly the biggest game in each Manchester teams calendar we are expecting the game to feature some quality goals. However this does not always happen so the bookies Paddy Power are running a cash back offer and are offering to refund all losing first or last goal scorer bets if the games finishes scoreless OR if the game has four or more goals scored. (They will also refund on losing correct score and scorecast singles made on the game).

England travel to the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen to take on Denmark in an international friendly, it will the squad first game of the year and the first match since their 2-1 defeat at Wembley Stadium at the hands of Laurent Blanc’s French side.

On top of the withdrawals that Fabio is being faced with he also has to name a new skipper as Rio Ferdinand is one of his sidelined players, his normal back up choice of Steven Gerrard cannot happen as Gerrard is also out of the squad after an injury sustained in Liverpool’s Premier League clash at the weekend against Chelsea which means that Frank Lampard could be named captain of the team for the first time.

Denmark v England match odds

All odds for this market are supplied by bookmakers Victor Chandler. England are the favourites to win this encounter, the last time the two sides met England were faced with a humiliating 4-1 defeat in 2005.

9/4 – Denmark win

23/10 – Draw

The bookies Victor Chandler are offering punters a cash back offer on this England game. If Arsenal’s Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner scores a goal at anytime during this match then they will refund all of the losing correct score and first goal scorer bets. Currently Bendtner is at odds of 2/1 to score at anytime during the match.

Any refunds will be placed into your Victor Chandler betting account for you to use as a free bet.

The online bookies Boylesports are running a hard to beat cash back offer today that is available on any of the midweek Premier League fixtures. The offer is that if any teams comes back from behind and wins they will refund losing bets that have been made on any of the following markets; first, last, anytime goal scorer, score 2 ore more, hat trick and scorecast bets.

The race to win the Premier League has now really heated up following the late night transfers that happened last night that saw Andy Carroll switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool for a record UK transfer fee of £35m only for that record to be broken later as Chelsea paid £50 million to get their hands on Liverpool’s Fernando Torres. The amount of money being spent last night (over £200 million in all) has shown how series some teams are to compete in the Premier League, the new signings are however unlikely to appear in these midweek fixtures.

The current league leaders Manchester United are still the favourites to win this seasons title at odds of 8/13 but Chelsea are now at odds of 15/2, will their investment in Torres pay off this season?

Midweek Premier League Games

The following matches all qualify for the offer from Boylesports

1st Feb 2011

Arsenal v Everton

Sunderland v Chelsea

Man Utd v Aston Villa

West Brom v Wigan

2nd Feb 2011

Birmingham v Man City

Blackburn v Tottenham

Blackpool v West Ham

Bolton v Wolverhampton

Fulham v Newcastle

Liverpool v Stoke

If you have not yet opened an account with Boylesports then what are you waiting for? Customers with new accounts that place a bet of £20 will have their initial stake matched by the bookmakers up to a maximum of £40.

As January comes to a close once again the cold weather that seems to be blighting sporting events this year has claimed yet another victim as Ludlow Racecoruse has called of all racing today. We do still have meetings going ahead at Ayr and on the all weather course at Wolverhampton.

However with the sun now beginning to shine and create a little bit of warmth punters betting at Ayr will be hopefully warmed up even more by Paddy Powers cash back offer on the 4:00pm race today. If you back a horse that is winning this race at the final hurdle but then fails to win the race for you then you will have your single stake bet money refunded back into your account. The favourite for this race is Super Ally ridden by Brian Harding at odds of 5/1.

There are just 32 teams left in the FA Cup as the tournament enters the fourth round this weekend. The 16 fixtures over Saturday and Sunday are likely to see at least one giant killing team progress to the next round in the completion with lower league sides Stevenage, Crawley, Huddersfield and Notts County all looking to beat higher league opposition to enter the 5th round. Should Blue Square Premier side Crawley Town manage to get through to the next round and defeat League Two side Torquay then they will become only the 6th non league side to do so, Crawley are currently at odds of 5/2 to win this fixture.

Cash back offer

Bookmakers Victor Chandler are making the fourth round of the FA Cup even more exciting by offering a cash back offer on any game this weekend of this round of the competition. If you place a bet on the first goal scorer market and your chosen player fails to get on the score sheet first but he then scores a goal at any time in the match they you will have your losing stake refunded back into your account for you to use as a free bet on any other future game.
