Can Manchester City get all 3 points against a busy Liverpool side?

August 19, 2010

The Reds kicked off their season with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal where they were leading up until the first minute of extra time when Liverpool keeper Reina fumbled a save to give the Gunners a last minute draw. Chelsea placed favourite to win the Premier League again next season

May 10, 2010

It was a nail biting finish to the 2009/10 Barclay’s Premier League season for Chelsea and Manchester United fans, Chelsea needed a least a draw to be installed as Champions but if they lost and United won then Sir Alex Ferguson’s team would have pipped Chelsea in the title race, but both sides managed however to finish the last match of the season in style, Chelsea dominated Wigan beating them by an amazing 8-0, whilst Manchester United win Stoke by 4 goals to nil but whatever they scored would still leave them in second place one point behind Chelsea.

Although the 2010/11 season does not start until 14th August 2010 the bookmakers William Hill have already placed Chelsea as favourites to win the title again next season. Although Chelsea left it until the final day of the season they have had a very comfortable home season and only waivered a few times away from home.

Can Arsenal come from behind to beat Porto tonight in the Champions League match

March 9, 2010

Arsenal will be going into tonight’s Champions League home fixture against Porto without their captain Cesc Fabregas after he suffered a hamstring injury during the Barclays Premiership 3-1 win against Burnley and it is currently unknown how long he will be out of action, hopefully not as long as last year when the same injury kept him sidelined for three weeks in December.

This is bound to be a blow for Arsene Wenger’s side who still need to overcome a 2-1 first-leg defeat to carry on in the competition, there is good news that Sol Campbell is due to come back into the squad and the captains band will be handed to goalkeeper Manuel Almunia. The Gunners have welcomed Porto to the Emirateson two previous occasions, scoring six goals in the process and keeping two clean sheets, so the odds for winning are clearly in Arsenal’s favour.

February 4, 2010

Troubled Chelsea captain John Terry will be hoping his antics on the field will silence the negative press he has been having of late following his alleged affair with the girlfriend of England team mate Wayne Bridge, it had been reported earlier in the week that Terry was being given a leave of absence but it now looks as if he will be playing the weekends fixture against London rivals Arsenal.

Revitalised Bolton ready to take on Arsenal at the weekend

January 15, 2010

Owen Coyle starts his managerial career with his first game in charge for Bolton on Sunday (hopefully he will stay longer than Paul Hart managed at QPR) and it will be a baptism of fire as his first match in charge is against Premiership title hopefuls Arsenal. Bolton are still hanging around the bottom of the table with just 18 points compared to Arsenal who are in third place with an impressive 42 points.

Since arriving at Bolton it looks as if Coyle has made a positive impact on the side as replacement for the sacked Gary Megson, several players including Bolton skipper Kevin Davies have publicly said that the arrival of Owen Coyle has helped to lift the spirits of the Bolton squad, but will this be enough for them to defeat a strong Arsenal team?
