Sri Lanka hoping for a repeat performance against the West Indies

Following their surprise beating of Australia thanks to half centuries by Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan , Sri Lanka ended up winning the match by six wickets yesterday, the match ended with Sri Lanka on 160-4 against Australia’s 159-9. The result of the match meant that Australia have now exited the tournament as they also lost against the West Indies.

Following this win Sri Lanka now must face the West Indies in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 series on Wednesday 10th June.  They are now one of the favourites to win the Twenty 20 competition and are showing at odds of 8/11 to beat the Windies, with the West Indies being placed at evens.
