Southampton favourites in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy betting

Two ex-Premier League clubs meet up on Wednesday evening in a tournament that their fans would have laughed at the prospect of them being in a few years ago but now its is a cold hard reality. For fans outside the glorious Premier League the Paint Pot Trophy is an annual event that upto 2006 was known as the LDV Trophy it is contested between sides in League One and League Two, last years winners Luton Town are unable to defend their trophy following their relegation to the Conference.
Although Charlton are riding high in the league they will be just getting over their defeat on Sunday to the mighty Northwich Victoria, the Blue Square North team managed to beat Charlton by a single goal in the first round of the FA Cup much to the embarrassment of Phil Parkinson’s side. Southampton on the other hand are still in the bottom of the League One not helped by being deducted 10 points at the start of season, they have had a good run of matches of late are the favourites to win this home fixture.
