It is a midlands derby in the Coca Cola Championship as two of last years relegation battlers meet up with each other. It is a different story for Forest this year as they look set to be heading for automatic promotion or at least a play off place as they are currently third in the table. Coventry however are treading on familiar ground as they struggle around the bottom of the Championship currently in 16th place, a 3 game unbeaten run however has seen them jump up from the bottom where they were languishing for most of the run up to Christmas.

Their last game with each other saw Forest beat City 1-0, the first time that Forest had beaten City in their last five encounters. If however Coventry beat Forest this season it will be the first local derby that City have won.
