The Carling Cup has reached the quarter final stages with two matches tonight and the remaining two taking place on Wednesday. The match will get the most attention tonight is between Manchester United and Spurs which takes place at Old Trafford tonight from 8.00.

Tonight will give Alex Ferguson a chance to field some of his younger players and give others like Gary Neville a well earned rest he is also expecting to replace Tomasz Kuszcza with Ben Foster. The odds point heavily to a United win tonight as historically United not last the 20 fixtures against Spur, winning 15 of them, in all competitions they have met 170 times with United winning 79 opposed to Spurs 46 games with 45 being drawn.

Spurs were beaten in last years final on penalties by United and will be hoping to get some payback in this fixture but they have not managed to win at Old Trafford in just 20 years and United have not been beating in the Carling Cup since 2007 when they were destroyed by an amazing performance from Championship side Coventry City.
