Man Utd v Arsenal – Sunday 28th August, Sky Sports 1 (4pm)

The bookmakers have all made Man Utd the overwhelming favourites to win the match and continue their 100% start to the new season, with Paddy Power pricing them at just 4/9, while Arsenal are 13/2 to come away with a surprise win, with a draw available at odds of 10/3. If Arsenal win then Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles in the match.

The omens don’t look good for Arsenal as Man Utd only dropped two points at home last season and have this campaign in a similar fashion with a 3-0 thumping of Tottenham on Monday. Arsene Wenger’s side have only won once at Old Trafford in their last six visits and without the departed Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri and the suspended Gervinho, Frimpong and Song their chances look relatively slim. However, Arsenal will take confidence from their win against Udinese on Wednesday which ensured qualification to the Champions League group stages and they will use that victory to spur them on this Sunday.

Following his man of the match performance against Spurs, Danny Welbeck is definitely worth a punt at 6/1 to open the scoring, as he did against Harry Redknapp’s team. With odds of 9/2 Wayne Rooney is also worth a shout as is Nani at 15/2. Robin Van Persie and Theo Walcott both scored for Arsenal midweek and they are priced at 15/2 and 12/1 respectively to open the scoring.

All the betting and form points towards a Man Utd win and they can be found with odds of 10/1 with Paddy Power  to come away with a 3-1 victory. If Arsenal rip up the form books and put on a football masterclass they have every chance of coming away with three points, with the Gunners handed odds of 19/1 to record a 2-1 win.
