Lockinge Stakes Betting Dominated by Paco Boy

The betting for the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on Saturday 16th May is domianted by Paco Boy, who is the 5/4 favourite to win the race with Ladbrokes. The Richard Hannon runner  is the only horse in the field of 12 that has winning form at Group One level and with an official rating of 124, he is certainly the one to beat.

Furthermore, Paco Boy has a 100% strike rate at Newbury, winning all three of previous runs at the Berkshire track. Prior to this season, all his wins had come over distances of six or seven furlongs, but his win over 8 fulrongs at Sandown in Apri confirmed that he has more than enough ability to step up to a mile at Newbury.

The biggest danger to Paco Boy looks to be Aqlaam, who is very lightly for four years old but is still very much unexposed. The Lockinge will be his first run of the season but he won first time out last season, at Newbury and this Willie Haggas runner is very much of interest but Paco Boy remains the confident selection for this race.
