The 3 Irish Open is part of the European Tour takes place at County Louth golf course situated in Baltray, Drogheada in Ireland. It commences on 14th May and runs through to the 17th May, previous winners of the event include Colin Montgomerie, Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros. The event originally started in 1927 and is regarded as one of the best European Tour events by players, the prize fund consists of €2,6 million a far cry from the first prize in 1927 of £750.
