For the 2011 event their will 126 players made up from past and current European Tour winners.
Paul Casey has emerged as the bookies favourite to win the tournament at quite good odds of 8/1, even though his last major European win was the BMW PGA Championship in 2009. Also in the mix is Irish golfer Padraig Hamilton at odds of 12/1 who will be hoping for some good fortune following his disqualification from the 2011 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. Hamilton was removed from event after a television viewer noticed that he brushed the back of his ball as he replaced it in front of his marker and failed to mark it on his scoresheet as a 2 point penalty, slow motion replays showed the ball moved around 5mm.
