Ghanaati tops the odds in Coronation Stakes Betting

The Barry Hills trained filly, Ghanaati, heads the bookmakers odds for Friday’s feature at Royal Ascot, the Coronation Stakes. The winner of this year’s 1,000 Guineas is expected to build on her Newmarket victory in May and once again, is expected to take all the beating over the same distance of a mile at Ascot. As such the bookies are taking no chances and she is no bigger than 9/4 (Paddypower and Ladbrokes) to land the £154,000 first prize.

She does however come up against several rivals that didn’t run in the Guineas and could give her plenty to think about. One such Filly is the French Raider, Elusive Wave, who represents, trainer Jean Claude Rouget, who is currently bang in form at this level having trained three of the four classic winners in France this season, including Elusive Wave in the French 1,000 Guineas. The form of which was franked in tremendous style on Sunday when Tamazirte finished runner up to another Rouget Filly, Stacelite, who could be a potential superstar! Elusive Wave is currently 3/1 best price with Sportingbet and represents better value than Ghanaati.
