It looks as it the Manchester United favourite adopted son is on his way to Real Madrid following their audacious bid of £80 million that has been accepted the United board. The bid dwarfs the previous highest transfer record made by Real for Kaka earlier in the month. United are expecting the matter to be concluded by 30th June all that is need is for Ronaldo to except personal terms with Madrid.

It is believed that the record transfer fee would be made available to Sir Alex Ferguson to spend on transfers and a replacement for Ronaldo. Ronaldo joined United in 2003 for £12m and has help them win the FA Cup in 2004, the Premier League title in 2007, the Champions League in 2008 and in 2009 he was voted the World and European player of the year.
