Novak Djokovic 10/1 To Win All Grand Slams In 2012

January 31, 2012

Novak Djokovic kicked-off the New Year with a bang after claiming his third Australian Open crown and fifth Grand Slam of his career after overcoming Rafael Nadal in a pulsating five-set thriller. The 24-year-old, who has won three Grand Slams in a row and four of the last five, simply looks unstoppable at the moment and if he can stay injury free he will be setting his sights on a clean sweep of Grand Slams in 2012. Ladbrokes have Djokovic priced at 10/1 to achieve this goal and become only the third male player (behind Don Budge and Rod Laver) in history to win accomplish the remarkable feat of winning the True Grand Slam.

The epic encounter between Djokovic and Nadal at Melbourne Park set a new record of five hours and 53 minutes for a Grand Slam Final and Ladbrokes are offering odds of 25/1 for that match time to be broken in any men’s Grand Slam Final this year. Next up in the calendar is the French Open in May. This is the only Slam which Djokovic has yet to win and if he does so he will not only achieve the career Grand Slam but hold all the Slams at one time. Djokovic is currently the second favourite behind the clay court maestro Nadal to win at Roland Garros. However, Djokovic has now beaten the Spaniard seven times in a row – all in Finals and twice on clay – giving him a huge mental advantage.

Australian Open Betting – Andy Murray Money-Back Special

January 10, 2012

Australian Open: 16th – 29th January 2012

The first Grand Slam of the year is up for grabs as the best players in the world prepare for the upcoming Australian Open. They will not only have to battle each other but the infamous scorching temperatures which have made victims of numerous top players in the past. The electric plexicushion hard courts of Melbourne Park will no doubt be home to an array of exciting matches over the next few weeks as each and every player involved attempts to get their year off to a flying start. Ladbrokes are offering a tempting money-back special whereby if Scotland’s Andy Murray wins the Australian Open, they will refund all losing tournament outright single bets.

Novak Djokovic will be aiming to follow up a sensational 2011 by retaining his Australian Open crown. The Serb won a stunning three Grand Slams last year as well as a plethora of other titles, and he is the hot 11/8 favourite to claim what would be a hat-trick of Australian Open titles. Roger Federer may be past his best and without a Grand Slam since the 2010 Australian Open but you can never rule him out. The four-time Australian Open winner won the end of season ATP World Tour Finals last November and is well worth a bet at 7/2.

Rafael Nadal is a very reasonably priced 6/1. These odds are definitely worth taking advantage of as he has every chance of claiming his second Australian Open trophy. However, the Spaniard has a dismal recent record against Djokovic, with just two wins in the last fourteen meetings with the current World Number One.

Such is the dominance of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal that only one player, Juan Martin Del Potro, has interrupted their winning sequence of a quite unbelievable 26 of the last 27 Grand Slams between them. A staggering statistic. If anyone can cause an upset it is Andy Murray who recently won his 22nd ATP Tour title when he beat Alexandr Dolgopolov in the final of the Brisbane International. He has been seeded 4th and will no doubt have to beat one of the top three players if he is going to win that elusive first Grand Slam. Despite not winning a Slam Murray had an impressive 2011: reaching the final of the Australian Open, and the last four at Wimbledon, the French and US Open. Murray, who recently hired Ivan Lendl as his new coach, has finished runner-up in Melbourne for the past two years and will be hoping to make it third time lucky this time around, and can be backed at 9/2 to do so.

Elsewhere, Juan Martin Del Potro is priced at 14/1 and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at 16/1. Both players have the ability to win Down Under but will need to be at their absolute best to do so. Other names to watch out for include Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer and Bernard Tomic.

2012 Mens Tennis Specials With Stan James

November 25, 2011

The 2011 tennis season might be coming to an end but Stan James will keep you entertained over the Christmas period with a variety of tennis specials for the 2012 season. The Australian Open is remarkably only seven weeks away and the best players in the world will be eager to get off to a winning start Down Under.

Novak Djokovic has been the stand-out performer of 2011, winning a stunning three Grand Slam trophies and a plethora of other titles. The Serb will be looking to continue his form into the 2012 season and who would bet against him adding to his rapidly growing trophy cabinet. The 24-year-old is available at 8/1 to repeat his feat of 2011 and win three Grand Slams or go one better at 33/1 and win all four.

Such was the dominance of Djokovic that Rafa Nadal had to settle for just the one Grand Slam this season, his beloved French Open. Nadal lost an incredible six finals to Djokovic but he will surely use this as motivation to come back stronger next year. Nadal is available at 6/5 to win one Slam in 2012 or 12/1 to match 2010 and win three. He is also priced at 2/1 to beat Djokovic in a Grand Slam Match Bet.

Andy Murray may still be searching for that elusive first Grand Slam but he can look back on 2o11 as another successful year. The Scot finished as runner-up in the Australian Open and managed to reach the semi-finals in the other three Grand Slams, coming unstuck against his nemisis Rafa Nadal each time. He finished the season strongly, winning the Thailand and Japan Open before injury forced him to withdraw from the ATP World Tour Finals. Murray will be gunning for a Grand Slam in 2012 and is priced at 13/8 to win his first one next year.

Many critics have claimed that Roger Federer is now well past his best. However, he still managed to reach a Grand Slam final, two semi-finals and a quarter final this season, and has also finished well with a few titles and thumped Nadal 6-3 6-0 in just 61 minutes at the ATP World Tour Finals, in what he described as his best win ever.

Andy Murray One To Watch In ATP World Tour Finals Betting

October 21, 2011

ATP World Tour Finals – 20-27th November 2011

The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals is the last major tournament of the calendar year where the best eight players of 2011 meet in the unofficial ‘F’ifth Grand Slam’ to see who can end the season on the ultimate high. Five places have already been decided – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Roger Federer and David Ferrer – meaning there are now three remaining spots, with the likes of Tomas Berdych, Mardy Fish, Jo Wilfred Tsonga and Juan Martin Del Potro all still in contention.

As has been the case all year Novak Djokovic is the man to beat. The Serb has been in scintillating form with three Grand Slam trophies to his name as well as a number of other titles. Sky Bet have Djokovic as the 6/4 favourite in the betting odds and if fully fit it would come as no surprise to see him lift the title later next month. Andy Murray has saved his best performances till last and will be brimming with confidence following his hat-trick of titles in the past few weeks. Priced at 3/1 Murray has a very good chance of winning in London and his prospects will no doubt be boosted on home soil in front of a vociferous crowd.

Roger Federer has gone off the radar slightly in recent months and is without a Grand Slam title since the 2010 Australian Open. The World No. 4 may be on the decline but he is more than capable of winning in London next month, just as he did last year when he beat Nadal in a thrilling final. Like every player, Nadal has been in the shadow of Djokovic this year but yet he still has a Grand Slam to his name plus two runners-up finishes at Wimbledon and the US Open. Both Federer and Nadal are available at 7/2 to come out victorious in November. Elsewhere the Spaniard David Ferrer has enjoyed an impressive year and he could be a good outside bet at 20/1.

ATP World Tour Finals Outright Winner Odds

  • 6/4 – Novak Djokovic
  • 3/1 – Andy Murray

Shanghai Masters Betting Special with Victor Chandler

October 11, 2011

The 2011 Shanghai Masters is now underway and Victor Chandler have a Gain Set and Match offer available where they will refund all losing match bets if your chosen player is beaten in a final set tie-break.

The man to watch this week is definitely Andy Murray who has been in blistering form during the last fortnight. The Scot won the Thailand Open which was followed by the Japan Open last week where he produced one of his best performances of the season to overcome Rafael Nadal 3-6 6-2 6-0, dropping only four points in the final set. That result will be a massive confidence boost for Murray, who often struggles against Nadal, and Victor Chandler have installed the 24-year-old as the 7/4 favourite.

Nadal can be found with odds of 15/8 but this is by no means a two-horse race with the likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tomas Berdych and Mardy Fish all in with a chance of making an impact in Shanghai. World No.1 Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer were forced to withdraw due to injury which gives other players a chance to shine and collect points ahead of the ATP World Tour Finals in London next month.

Shanghai Masters Odds

  • 7/4 – Andy Murray
  • 15/8 – Rafael Nadal
  • 11/1 – Tomas Berdych
  • 12/1 – Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
  • 16/1 – Mardy Fish
  • 22/1 – David Ferrer
  • 33/1 – David Nalbandian
  • 40/1 – Andy Roddick
  • 40/1 – Stanislas Wawrinka
  • 50/1 – Aleksander Dolgopolov

Laura Robson is one of the rising stars of British tennis. The talented teenager is expected to make her mark in the women’s game in the next few years after bursting onto the scene in 2008 when, aged just 14, she won the Wimbledon Junior Girls’ Championship. The 17-year-old has since proved she can go toe-to-toe with the big guns following an impressive performance in her defeat to Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon in June. Andy Murray 2012 Grand Slam Specials – William Hill

September 20, 2011

2011 has been Andy Murray’s best Grand Slam year. Granted, his pursuit of that elusive Grand Slam continues but, in each of the Slams this year he has reached at least the semi-final stage which in itself a fantastic achievement. It is just unfortunate that in three of the Slams he came up against Rafael Nadal and in the other he lost out to the electric Novak Djokovic. At present he may still be agonisingly short of the exceptionally high levels of Djokovic, Nadal and Roger Federer but he is closer than everybody else and definitely has the game to trouble the big three. William Hill are currently running a few early 2012 Andy Murray Grand Slam Specials so place your bets now before the odds shorten next year.

Murray will be fully confident that 2012 is the year he finally breaks his Grand Slam duck. He is currently priced at 6/4 to win one next year and 14/1 to win two. In order to do so it is crucial that he remains positive when under pressure against the likes of Nadal. Murray’s mental strength has often been questioned and in order to up his game  it is essential that he has the right mindset and belief during the big matches.

In terms of the year of Murray’s potential first Grand Slam win, he is currently priced at 7/4  to win it in 2012, 5/1 in 2013,  8/1 in 2014 and long odds of 25/1 in 2015. 2012 is the year for Murray to step up and get his name on one of the famous trophies. First up will be the Australian Open, which is a tournament Murray has reached back-to-back finals in, only to come unstuck against the brilliance of Federer in 2010 and Djokovic earlier this year. No one could have predicted the sensational year Djokovic has had but it is something Murray can draw inspiration from as they were playing at the same level at this time last year. The determined Scot will have every hope of going one step better this year and finally ending Great Britain’s long wait for a Grand Slam winner.

Novak Djokovic – 2012 Grand Slam Betting

September 13, 2011

Novak Djokovic has simply been in unstoppable form this year. On Monday night the Serb added the US Open to his Australian Open and Wimbledon crowns after he beat Rafael Nadal in a blockbuster clash in Flushing Meadows. Bookmakers Victor Chandler are already looking ahead to 2012 and have released a number of tempting Novak Djokovic Grand Slam bets.

Djokovic is priced at 33/1 to go one better then this year and win all four Grand Slams in 2012, an attractive offer considering the scintillating form he has been in. Winning all four Grand Slams inside one calendar year is a quite phenomenal achievement which has only ever been achieved by two players, Don Budge and Rod Laver, with Laver incredibly doing it twice: in 1962 and 1969. Djokovic is also available at 6/1 to repeat his achievement of 2011 and win three Grand Slams in 2012, while he is 2/1 to win two and 6/4 to win one.

The 24-year-old would love nothing more than to win the career Grand Slam by adding the French Open to his rapidly growing collection, with the Serb has been handed odds of 13/8 to win in Roland Garros. The next Grand Slam is the Australian Open in January 2012 and Djokovic is available at 6/4 to win what would be his third Australian Open title. He can also be found at 13/8 to win next year’s Wimbledon.

Next up for Djokovic is a Davis Cup semi-final against Argentina, starting on Friday 16th September. Serbia are the odds on 1/4 favourites to beat Argentina, while Argentina are available at 11/4 to win the tie. Serbia were the surprise 2010 Davis Cup winners and are the 5/4 to win again this time around.

US Open Betting Specials with William Hill

August 24, 2011

The 2011 US Open gets underway in New York on Monday 29th August and William Hill are offering a cracking betting special as the best tennis players in the world bid to win the final major of the season. The bookmakers are currently offering tempting odds of 5/1 for the top 4 male tennis players; Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal And Roger Federer to be in semi-finals at Flushing Meadows. With all four players reaching the semis at the French Open and three of the four progressing though to the same stage at Wimbledon, this looks to be a very good bet.

Novak Djokovic heads the betting with odds of 5/4 to win what would be a remarkable third Grand Slam of 2011. Djokovic has reached the final in New York twice but has finished on the losing side both times. However, the 24-year-old is an all together different outfit this time around and comes into the fourth and final Grand Slam with only two defeats to his name this year. Although the second defeat came just a week ago when he had to retire against Murray in Cincinnati due to shoulder injury, which raises questions about his fitness and how he may not be at full strength. This therefore makes his odds look fairly short and if you are after a good price it may be best to look elsewhere.

At 5/1 with William Hill Andy Murray may be the preferred option. The fiery Scot looks in good shape to win his first Grand Slam following his impressive win at the Cincinnati Open, which came as a massive confidence booster. Murray plays some of his best tennis on hard courts and proved this in 2008 when he reached the US Open final. World number two Rafael Nadal is available at 4/1 to win his second Grand Slam of the year. The defending US Open Champion has been overshadowed by Djokovic this year but is still close to unbeatable when he is 100% fit and on top form. However, there have been several concerns over both his form and fitness which is the reason his odds are unusually high.

He may not be dominating the game like he used to but with odds of 9/2 Roger Federer is definitely worth a punt. The 16-time major winner may be without a Grand Slam since the 2010 Australian Open but is always a threat and has won an incredible five times at Flushing Meadows. Outside of the top 4 Mardy Fish is the man to keep an eye out. The American is playing some great tennis and looks a nifty bet at 25/1. Elsewhere Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is priced at 33/1 while former US Open champion Andy Roddick is an outside bet at 66/1.

US Open Men’s Odds

  • 5/4 Novak Djokovic
  • 4/1 Rafael Nadal
  • 9/2 Roger Federer
  • 5/1 Andy Murray
  • 12/1 Juan Martin Del Potro
  • 25/1 Mardy Fish
  • 33/1 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
  • 40/1 Tomas Berdych
  • 40/1 Robin Soderling
  • 66/1 Andy Roddick

Serena Williams Hot Favourite In US Open Betting

August 18, 2011

2011 US Open: 29th August – 11th September

The fourth and final Grand Slam of 2011 is soon upon us and the three-time US Open Champion Serena Williams has been installed as the bookies favourite for the US Open, with Boylesports pricing her at 6/4 to come away victorious from Flushing Meadows.

The younger Williams sister has had a difficult past year where she has had to battle back from injury and illness. The 29-year-old has come on heaps and bounds since her return to action in June when she was soundly beaten in the fourth round at Wimbledon by Marion Bartoli. Williams has taken the US hard court season by storm winning back-to-back titles – Standord Classic and the WTA Rogers Cup – thus sending a stark reminder to her rivals of what she is capable of.  Her serve is back on song as is her movement around the court, which makes her a genuine contender in New York. As a result of her improved form she has risen up to 31st ranking and it won’t soon be long till she is back in the top 10.

The Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova is next in the running with odds of 6/1. She is followed by Victoria Azarenka, who is priced at 8/1 and the 2006 Champion Maria Sharapova at 10/1. Sharapova’s odds represent good value as she is playing some great tennis at the moment, and as he recent run to the Wimbledon Final suggests, she is close to reaching her peak after a mixed couple of years. With Serena bursting back on the scene the focus, for once, has been off the World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki, which will come as a welcome relief to the 21-year-old. Throughout the last year the Dane has had to frequently answer questions on when she is going to win a Grand Slam, which she has so far failed to do. With all the build-up talk on other players, at 14/1 she looks like a good punt. She has one of the best all round games in women’s tennis and is also very consistent making her a real threat on all surfaces.

The French Open Champion and Australian Open Finalist, Li Na, is definitely one to watch. The 29-year-old had a fantastic 2011 so far and at 16/1 could well be worth a bet. Elsewhere Venus Williams can be found at 25/1 while Samantha Stosur has odds of 28/1. If you are after an outside bet the former women’s No.1 Ana Ivanovic is available at 80/1. The Serb recently joined up with the former LTA head coach Nigel Sears and providing her game is back on track she could spring an upset or two.

Tournament Outright Odds

  • 6/4 – Serena Williams
  • 6/1 – Petra Kvitova
  • 8/1 – Victoria Azarenka
  • 10/1 – Maria Sharapova
  • 14/1 – Caroline Wozniacki
  • 16/1 – Li Na
  • 20/1 – Vera Zvonareva
  • 25/1 – Venus Williams
  • 25/1 – Sabine Lisicki
  • 28/1 – Samantha Stosur
  • 40/1 – Marion Bartoli
  • 40/1 – Andrea Petkovic
  • 40/1 – Agnieszka Radwanska
  • 50/1 – Julia Goerges
  • 80/1 – Ana Ivanovic
