Rosie Huntington-Whiteley The Favourite In FHM Sexiest Woman In The World Betting

February 21, 2012

The betting for the Sexiest Woman in the world for 2012 is starting to hot up with the vote now on the horizon, all eyes are on 2011 winner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who is on course to win the award for the second successive year. The Actress and Model was the clear winner with the public last year and according to the latest show of betting she is also in poll position to win in 2012, Paddy Power make her the 4/1 favourite to pick up the most votes.

Huntingdon-Whiteley rose to fame a couple of years ago when she replaced Megan Fox in the third Transformers film and her career looks to be going on the upward curve at the moment. The closest challenger to the favourite this year looks like coming from lingerie model Candice Swanpoel, the South African star has been making her name around the world over the past couple of years and she could well go close this year. Punters wanting to back Swanpoel in the Sexiest Woman In The World Betting can get a price of 7/1 with Paddy Power which could prove to be a nice piece of value.

The new name on the list this year is that of Pippa Middleton who of course shot to fame in that dress at the Royal Wedding last year, she could complete a remarkable year by being named the Sexiest Woman in the World. Paddy Power make Pippa Middleton a 7/1 shot to claim the award this year but in truth she is unlikely to prove as a popular with teenage boys who are of course more likely to cast their vote for the latest lingerie model.

February 13, 2012

The 2012 series of Dancing On Ice is now heading towards the business end of the competition and it’s clear that Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter is the hot favourite to take the crown following a string of top class performances. Porter has been increasingly popular with the viewers over the last few weeks and Paddy Power are convinced that she is the one to beat as they rate her the 8/11 favourite at this stage of the show.

Porter has proven popular with viewers and punters both on and off the ice over the last few weeks and that is sure to stand her in good stead as we head towards the end of the 2012 series. The main rival to Jorgie Porter looks like being Matthew Wolfenden who has also proven to be one of the best skaters this series, the judges love him and he is available at 5/2 with Paddy Power to win the Dancing On Ice Crown for 2012. Wolfenden and Porter have clearly proven themselves to be the best of an average bunch this year and it would be a surprise were one of the pair were not to lift the title.

Punters wanting to back Chico to claim an unlikely Dancing On Ice win can get a price of 6/1 with Paddy Power. Jedward Odds On To Represent Ireland Once Again In Eurovision 2012 Betting

February 6, 2012

The 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is on the horizon and attention in Ireland is already turning to who will represent them in Baku, Azerbaijan. Once again all eyes are on those famous Jedward twins who are odds on to sing for Ireland for the second year in-a-row, the boys who we love to hate made their debut in the competition in 2011 and will be hoping to improve on their eight place in 2012. According to the latest show of betting about who will represent the country it appears that Ireland will once again take the humorous side with their entry with Jedward the likely candidates.

John and Edward are available at just 1/3 with Paddy Power to be given the honour of representing Ireland in Azerbaijan this year and it would appear that they have the gig in the bag once again. The Irish twins will be hoping for full marks from the UK but like most western European countries they know that they will struggle against the now consistent eastern block voting which has seen the Eurovision become little more than a charade. Countries like Ireland, the UK, France and Spain seem to have little chance of claiming the win in the modern era which is highlighted by the fact that we are all off to Azerbaijan for the 2012 contest.

At the moment Paddy Power make Ireland a 14/1 shot to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 which does look a little skinny as they go for their first win since 1996 and their eighth in total. The UK are of interest as well but their popularity in Europe gives them next to no chance of picking up the prize, despite that Paddy Power still give them an outside chance at 25/1 to claim the Song Contest for the first time since 1997.

To Represent Ireland Betting in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest

  • 1/3 – Jedward
  • 5/1 – Andrew Mann
  • 6/1 – David Shannon & Una Gibney
  • 10/1 – Donna McCaul
  • 12/1 – Maria McCool

George Clooney The Star Name In Oscars 2012 Betting

January 30, 2012

It’s awards season in Hollywood and the daddy of them all, the Oscars, are now fast approaching at the end of February and there are a number of fascinating betting markets for punters to sink their teeth into. The Academy Awards are of course a global event as the best films and actors are given their moment in the limelight and looking across the nominees there is no doubt that George Clooney could well be the big success story this year. While Clooney looks set to be the big name when it comes to the actors on show there is no doubt that the big film at the Oscars this year is likely to be The Artist which has taken the box office by storm over the past couple of months. The silent film from France is being hailed as a masterpiece by many critics and Paddy Power rate it as short as 1/6 to claim The Best Picture award with the Academy Award looking as good as in the bag.

The artist is likely to pick up another Academy Award with Michel Hazanavicius set to win the Best Director gong, his work has been widely praised which is reflected in his short price of 1/6 with Paddy Power to claim the award. The Artist really has come out of nowhere over the past few months and it looks set to dominate the Academy Awards this year according to the bookies while George Clooney is also set to earn some well deserved recognition for his brilliant role in The Descendants.

Frankie Cocozza Favourite In Celebrity Big Brother Betting

January 25, 2012

The 2012 Celebrity Big Brother has been one of the most entertaining for years, with numerous spats, tears, comedy moments and booze-fuelled controversies. However, one of the biggest shocks has been the transformation of Frankie Cocozza who has emerged as the new favourite in the Celebrity Big Brother odds. The X Factor reject, who gained plaudits for his maturity during the infamous Bumgate row, replaces former Wales rugby captain Gareth Thomas at the top of the betting.

Cocozza can be backed at evens with Stan James to win the show, while nice guy Gareth is available at 9/4. Gareth is easily the most popular housemate within the house but whether this translates to public votes remains to be seen. The lively Denise Welch has moved up to third in the betting with odds of 11/2, while Hollywood superstar Michael Madsen is available at 11/1. The duo have had a fiery love/hate relationship in the house, which has been one of the key talking points of the series. Both celebs have big personalities and are likely to clash once again before the series is over.

Drunken Goings On In The House

So Solid Crew member Romeo could well be worth a bet at 14/1. The 31-year-old has been a figure of calm in a house of drama but his diplomatic stance doesn’t necessarily equate to entertaining viewing, which could cost him. The uber-confident twins, Kristina & Karissa Shannon, are available at 22/1 to win a show they already think they have won. Meanwhile, Nicola McLean is a very long shot at 100/1. The former page 3 model is also the odds-on 8/13 favourite to be the next evicted housemate, while the Playboy twins can be backed at 11/2 to be given the boot next.

Outright Odds

  • Evens – Frankie Cocozza
  • 9/4 – Gareth Thomas
  • 11/2 – Denise Welch
  • 11/1 – Michael Madsen

Jessie J The Slight Favourite In The Voice Winning Manager Betting

January 17, 2012

The BBC are getting ready to launch their rival to the X-Factor in March and following the announcement of the four judges/coaches the betting markets have quickly become popular with punters. The Voice has been a smash it in America and the BBC have decided to invest big money into the show which requires the judges to listen to auditions blind folded with the singing the key factor in the show. The four judges are Jessie J, Will I Am, Tom Jones and Snow Patrol front man Danny O’Donaghue who will be in a mentoring and coaching role through the series.

Jessie J has had a massive year in the charts with a number of hits to her name and the BBC will be hoping she can attract the young audience the show desperately needs. It is no surprise to see Ladbrokes installing Jessie J as the warm favourite to be the winning Manager this series and she can be backed at 15/8 to do just that with her loyal fan base likely to follow her when it comes to a phone vote. The producers will be hoping that Jessie J will have the same affect on The Voice that Cheryl Cole had on the X-Factor, that will be a tough ask though with the X-Factor already a more successful format.

The winning Manager Betting is always tough before any new series but Tom Jones is sure to be popular with a long history in the business sure to stand him good stead. The welsh legend will see the show as a great way to attract a younger audience and anyone wanting to back Jones to be the winning Manager on The Voice can get a price of 11/4 with Ladbrokes. The BBC have pumped plenty of money into The Voice and it will be interesting to see how the new format fares over the coming months, will it recreate a tired format or will it become another unsuccessful talent show on the scrap heap.

The Voice Winning Manager Betting with Ladbrokes

  • 15/8 – Jessie J
  • 5/2 – Will I Am
  • 11/4 – Tom Jones
  • 7/2 – Danny O’Donaghue

Dancing On Ice Betting Shows Jorgie Porter As The Potential Winner

January 10, 2012

The new series of Dancing On Ice is now well underway and all eyes are on Hollyoaks actress, Jorgie Porter, who has impressed the judges so far with her skills on the Ice over the first couple of weeks. Porter has taken to the ice like a duck to water and as a result is the new favourite with Paddy Power to win the popular ITV1 series but she does face some stiff competition from a number of decent skaters over the next couple of months.

One skater to keep a close eye on the Dancing On Ice Betting is British Skier Chemmy Alcott who has also managed to impress the judges so far and looks to have plenty of room for improvement. Alcott is used to the tough training regime of Dancing On Ice and as well as being at home in the cold she looks to have plenty dancing ability and could be the one to watch. Paddy Power rate Chemmy Alcott as a 5/1 shot to win the show which could prove to be a good piece of value in what looks like a difficult market to predict at this early stage of the new series.

One skater struggling at the moment is Sugababe singer Heidi Range who was one of the pre-series favourites to lift the trophy with her performing background expected to give her a head start. So far though Range has struggled and has been on the drift in the betting as a result, she can now be backed at 25/1 with Paddy Power to win the show which reflects her being in the bottom two on the first show. DOI is always a ratings winner in January for ITV and they will be pleased they have managed to put together a good line up of celebrities with Jorgie Porter and Chemmy Alcott likely to be the ones to watch over the coming weeks.

Natalie Cassidy Favourite For Celebrity Big Brother 2012

January 6, 2012

Celebrity Big Brother has exploded back onto our screens and Channel 5 are obviously hoping that the controversial line-up will spice things up a little. With many of the contestants single and looking for love there is likely to be a number of hook-ups which equates to drama, tension and dramatic fall-outs. Former Eastenders star Natalie Cassidy has emerged as the early favourite with the bookmakers. The 28-year-old actress was the first housemate to enter the new-look house and was instantly pounced on by Big Brother and handed out a cringy task. She succeeded with flying colours and will no doubt be a popular contestant in this year’s show. Cassidy has currently got odds of 11/4 with William Hill to be victorious.

TOWIE star Kirk Norcross has followed in the foot steps of his former flame Amy Childs and decided to leave the reality show in pursuit of fame. He is likely to be a hit among the ladies both in and outside the house and can currently be backed at 9/2 to win the show. Former Wales and British Lions rugby star Gareth Thomas is next in the betting at 5/1. The 37-year-old is not only famous for his on-field heroics but for being the first professional rugby union player to come out as gay back in 2009.

The outspoken Denise Welch, a former Coronation Street actress and current Loose Women panelist, is available at 6/1. Another bit of eye candy for the ladies includes So Solid Crew member Romeo (7/1) and the disgraced X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza (8/1). Frankie is likely to have another love/hate relationship with the public but could well be worth a punt if the love begins to outweigh the hate.

The biggest name in the house is undoubtably Hollywood superstar Michael Madsen who is available at 14/1. Famed for his performance of Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs the actor has admitted that he has no idea what Big Brother is, which could make for interesting viewing. He is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Irish model and Kim Kardashian look-alike Georgia Salpa has been priced at 14/1, while singer/dancer/actor Andrew Stone has been handed odds of 16/1. Glamour model and former I’m A Celebrity contestent Nicola McLean can be found with odds of 20/1, with the Playboy twins Kristina & Karissa Shannon at 25/1. The controversial Natasha Giggs, who infamously had an affair with her husband’s famous brother Ryan Giggs, is unlikely to get very far with odds of 25/1.

Jennifer Ellison Well Fancied in Latest Dancing On Ice Betting

January 4, 2012

This weekend sees yet another reality talent show hit our screens with the return of the popular Dancing On Ice on ITV. The format has proven popular with viewers each New Year and following the announcement of the 12 celebrities it looks like being a competitive series in 2012 with a good mix of potentially good skaters and those who are likely to struggle on the Ice. At this stage it is difficult to pin point a favourite but already Paddy Power feel that Jennifer Ellison could be one of the leading candidates as they have made her the joint favourite.

Ellison is a popular figure having spent time as soap star and a pop singer over the past few years and it would be no surprise to see her improving through the show and mixing it at the business end of the competition. The bookmakers are by no means certain at the moment though and along with Ellison punters can also back Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden at 7/2 with Paddy Power with the pair battling for outright favouritism.

Soap Stars always fare well in the talent shows and that is likely to be the case again in this series of Dancing Of Ice but anyone wanting to look for a nice piece of value in the betting may want to take a closer look at singer Heidi Range. The Sugababe singer will no doubt fare pretty well with dancing and choreography background making her current price of 8/1 with Paddy Power and attractive one. Dancing On Ice is always a ratings winner for ITV following hot on the heels of the X-Factor and the bosses will be hoping that continues to be the case in 2012 with a good mix of potential skaters and no-hopers among the 12 celebrities.
