England the favourites to win the 2011 RBS Six Nations

After England have won the first two games of the 2011 Six Nations campaign they have now emerged as a strong contender to win this years tournament. The team England have to watch out for France who are the current holders of the title and will be looking to claim a consecutive grand slam and are at odds of 2/1 to do so, England are at odds of 15/8 to claim a grand slam in this years competition.

England’s next game will be against the French team on 26th February and it will sure to be tough hard fought and whoever wins this match will be then the favourites to win the tournament. Martin Johnson’s side are currently showing at odds of 8/15 to win with the draw at odds of 18/1 and a win for France at 6/4. After this match England will be facing Scotland next and a win here see England retain the Calcutta Cup and just have Ireland to beat to win the Triple Crown.

England a good bet to win the RBS 6 Nations opening match

The much hyped RBS 6 Nations tournament begins on the 4th February with the first match being Wales taking on England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. England are the favourites to win this fixture but they have not won in Wales in the Six Nations since 2004.

Both sides have had an onset of injury worries with England being without regular team captain Lewis Moody who is likely to be replaced by centre Mike Tindall. Moody is expected to miss out on the first three games of England’s campaign after the injury he sustained during baths win over Aironi in the Heineken Cup. Wales will be without Leigh Halfpenny after the player sustained an ankle injury during training which will be sure to be a big blow to Wales he is also expected to be out for the clash against Scotland. They are also without George North and Gethin Jenkins.

England and Ireland are evenly match for Six Nations tie

Both teams have not had the strongest start to this years Six Nations campaign, they have still managed to grind out results but neither team has displayed the quality of Rugby that we have been accustomed to and know that they can deliver. Case in point was the shocking England game against Italy which saw living legend Jonny Wilkinson fail to deliver on several sure fire conversions, however England boss Martin Johnson has named an unchanged side for this fixture.
