Casey Stoner The One To Beat In 2012 Moto GP Championship Betting
March 5, 2012
The new season of Moto GP is fast approaching and all the signs are that Casey Stoner is once again the rider to beat as we head towards the first race in Qatar at the start of April. The sport really has taken off over the past few years and we can look forward to no less than 18 races in 2012 with the betting market proving more popular than ever with motor sport punters. All eyes are on defending champion Stoner though with Ladbrokes making the Aussie a 10/11 shot to claim the title.
There is no doubt that Casey Stoner was the dominant force in 2011 with the Aussie winning a remarkable ten races in what was a bit of a procession and most are expecting a similar season in 2012. Punters looking for a rider to oppose Stoner will need to look no further than Jorge Lorenzo who will be looking for his second Moto GP Championship having won for the first time in 2010. Lorenzo is always competitive and while he will need to improve on 2011 to compete with Stoner he could prove to be a bit of value at 3/1 with Ladbrokes as we head towards the first race.
Early season testing has shown Stoner at his very best which is reflected int he odds but as far as the fans are concerned then it is Valentino Rossi who remains the King of Moto GP. The Italian has been a Moto GP Champion on seven occasions but has plenty to do if he is to add number eight in 2012, Ladbrokes make Rossi a 7/1 shot which in truth does reflect his chances against the in form and young Casey Stoner.

- 3/1 – Jorge Lorenzo

David Haye and Dereck Chisora Odds On To Meet In The Ring
February 20, 2012
It has been a tough few days for British Boxing both in and out of the ring with Dereck Chisora first of all losing a unanimous points decision to Vitali Klitschko on Saturday night, before getting involved in a brawl with fellow Brit David Haye in the post fight press conference. Both Fighters have been widely condemned for their actions but already attention is now turning to a potential clash between the pair with the interest in the fight sure to be sky high.
Haye was clearly at the press conference to promote a potential fight with Vitali Klitschko in the Summer but Dereck Chisora took exception to Haye’s presence in the room. A punch up ensued between the two fighters and Ladbrokes now rate Chisora as the 4/7 to be David Haye’s next opponent in the ring despite the fact that The Hayemaker is technically retired. The interest surrounding the fight will be off the chart following the brawl in Munich and assuming both fighters do not get lengthy bans it looks like a no brainer with the pair almost compelled to settle their differences in the ring.
David Haye had been hoping to come out of retirement to meet Vitali Klitschko in the summer and that remains a possibility for the former undisputed Cruiserweight World Champion. Ladbrokes rate Vital Klitschko as a 15/8 shot to be the next fight for David Haye and that could provide plenty of value if the money is right for both men, Vitali will know that a fight with Haye is the one that can generate the big money for him before he retires. Haye clearly wants to have a big fight in the Summer following his loss to Wladimir Klitschko last year but he may end up facing Dereck Chisora in a grudge match before he gets the chance to take on one of the Kltischko brothers one more time.

Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora World Title Fight Betting Specials
February 15, 2012
This weekend sees Vitali Klitschko defend his WBC World Heavyweight Championship title against Dereck Chisora in Munich, Germany. The Ukrainian and his brother have dominated the heavyweight divisions for the last decade or sop and according to the betting we are in for another one sided performance this weekend with Klitschko the hot favourite to claim the win. Punters wanting to back Vitali can get a price of 1/14 with Ladbrokes about him winning the fight by any method which reflects the vast difference in experience between the two fighters.
Chisora faces a mammoth task if he is to wrestle the world titles from the big Ukrainian and on the basis of his record he is currently available at 8/1 with Ladbrokes to win the fight by any method. The brash Londoner has vowed to come out all guns blazing on Saturday night but while he is clearly a decent fighter he has done nothing in his career so far to suggest he has the tools to take out the 40-year-old World Champion.
Chisora will be hoping that Klitschko is running out of steam at the age of 40 but in truth it is hard to look past another comfortable win for the older of the two brothers. Vitali will look to break down his much shorter opponent with his tried and tested jab before looking to finish him off in the mid rounds of the fight. We like the look of Vitali Klitschko to win the fight by TKO and punters can back that to happen at a short looking 2/7 with Ladbrokes.
Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora World Title Fight Odds with Ladbrokes
- 1/14 – Vitali Klitschko to win the fight by any method
- 8/1 – Dereck Chisora to win the fight by any method

Mark Cavendish Tour de France And 2012 Olympic Betting Specials
February 8, 2012
Over the past couple of years Mark Cavendish has turned himself into one of the most well known and successful cyclists in the world and 2012 could well be another great year for the Manx man. The Sprinter has joined Team Sky for the new season and he has set the Green Jersey at the Tour De France and the Olympic Road Race as his two main targets for the upcoming season. This follows a 2011 which saw Cavendish become the World Road Race Champion in Denmark for the very first time as well as claiming the famed Green Jersey for the first time last last summer.
The Green Jersey is awarded to the sprinter who achieves the most points during the three week Tour de France and once again Cavendish will be the odds on favourite to pick up the jersey in 2012. They key for Cavendish will be to pick up his usual amount of stage wins on the flat whilst also managing to stay in the race when the peleton goes through the mountains of the Alp. and the Pyrenees. Ladbrokes are convinced Cavendish can pick up the Green Jersey in 2012 and they make him a 5/6 shot to repeat his feat from last season and confirm his status as the worlds best sprinter.
A week after the Tour De France finishes in July, Cavendish will head to London with the aim of winning the first gold Medal of the 2012 London Olympics. The Road Race will circle around London and with its reasonably flat nature it lends itself to a sprint finish on the Mall. The British Team will be working with the sole aim of getting Cavendish to the sprint in the best possible shape and with that in mind Ladbrokes make him the 9/4 favourite to claim the Olympic Road Race Gold Medal. The Tour and the Olympics are particularly close together so Cavendish will need to hope he avoids injury in France if he is to any chance of claiming an Olympic Gold Medal but if any sprinter can do the Green Jersey/Gold Medal double then it is the current Sports Personality Of The Year.
Mark Cavendish Tour De France and Olympic Betting 2012
- 5/6 – Cavendish to win the Green Jersey at the Tour de France
- 9/4 – Cavendish to win the 2012 Olympic Road Race Gold Medal

February 3, 2012
The new season of Premier League Darts is about to get underway which means all eyes will be on Thursday nights for the next few months as fans of the arrows get ready for some of the best action around. The best eight players in the world will once again battle it out week after week in a League format with the hope of being in the top four come the end of season play-offs at the O2 in May.
All eyes are as always on Phil Taylor who remains the favourite for the Premier League despite the fact he is showing signs of slipping below his very best, the Power did not have a good World Championship but he is still as short as 7/4 with Bet365 to win the tournament. Taylor as we know is the greatest player ever to pick up a dart but he is not the invincible force he used to be and there has to be better value elsewhere this season. Adrian Lewis has won the world championship for the last two years and the ‘Jackpot’ has to be given serious consideration here, Lewis is available at 4/1 with Bet365 to add the Premier League title to his CV.
Such is the format of the Premier League that any of the eight players can go on to win the title which makes it a fascinating betting prospect for punters. One that we like is Simon Whitlock of Australia who is a terrific match player on his day and should be able to make it through to the play-offs, the ‘Wizard can be backed at a good looking 7/1 with Bet365 to claim his first Premier League title in 2012. The new season will run for a number of weeks across the UK and Ireland and the Premier League really is the biggest event in the sport in terms of the number of people the game is reaching and from a betting point of view it looks set to be a cracking year.

Wigan The Slight Favourites In Super League 2012 Grand Final Odds
January 27, 2012
The new Super League season for 2012 is now on the horizon and according to the betting we are in for a classic year with no less than four teams in the frame for glory. At this stage the slight favourites in the Grand Final Betting are the Wigan Warriors who will be looking for their second title in three years having won the championship back in 2010. They were dumped out in the play-offs last season and they will be eager to improve on that with a new coach at the DW Stadium, the Warriors are available at 5/2 with Ladbrokes.
Last year’s champions were of course the Leeds Rhinos who after an average season by their standards hit form at just the right time in the play-offs to win the Super League Grand Final for the fifth time. The Rhinos will of course be eager to retain their title and their current price of 5/1 with Ladbrokes looks like an excellent piece of value at this stage although they do of course face a number of teams looking to knock them off their perch.
The other team to keep a close eye on in the betting are the Warrington Wolves who really turned themselves into a top class team last season when they claimed the League Leaders Shield for the very first time. The Wolves were unable to replicate that form in the play-offs but with another year’s experience under their belts they could be a real threat, Warrington can be backed at 11/4 with Ladbrokes to claim their first ever Grand Final success in 2012. St Helens cannot be ignored either in what looks a four way race for the title over the next eight months with the Grand Final as always taking place at Old Trafford in October.

- 11/4 – Warrington Wolves

Six Nations 2012 Betting Shows France As The Team To Beat
January 23, 2012
The start of February brings the 2012 Six Nations rugby to the forefront for fans and punters and it promises to be an intriguing tournament as the teams look to start a new cycle towards the 2015 World Cup. Teams like France and Wales will be looking to build upon what they achieved in New Zealand last year while the likes of England and Ireland will be looking to start again after failing to produce their best rugby down under.
The French made it all the way to the final in the World Cup and they go into the the 2012 Six Nations as the favourites for victory, Paddy Power make Les Bleu the 13/8 favourites to lift the trophy for the fifth time since the tournament was expanded in 2000. The French look like a strong team on paper but they are always a dangerous team to back with any certainty and there has to be value elsewhere. The Welsh had a good World Cup as well and go into the Six Nations high on confidence and aiming to win the tournament, they do have to play France at home which is a plus and they are the close second favourites with Paddy Power.
England left the World Cup in disarray and go into the Six Nations with a new coach and several new players with a few of the more experienced names retired or dropped by interim coach, Stuart Lancaster. At this stage it is impossible to tell how the defending champions will play but they are always dangerous and can be backed at 7/2 with Paddy Power to lift the trophy in 2012. It is shaping up to be a fascinating tournament over the next couple of months and as the latest betting suggests we could be in for one of the closest in recent years with at least four teams capable of winning.

Super Bowl 46 Betting Shows The New England Patriots As The Warm Favourites
January 16, 2012
We are down to just four teams in the NFL and with the Superbowl just a matter of days away we are looking forward to two excellent Championship matches this weekend. The big shock of the play-offs so far saw the Green Bay Packers crash out after they were beaten by the New York Giants, it was a clinical away performance from the Giants and they will now head to San Francisco to meet the 49ers in the NFC Championship match.
The NFC Championship match looks particularly tight with both teams producing shocks in the last round, the bookmakers are struggling to split the teams with Paddy Power making both the Giants and the 49ers an 11/4 shot to won the Superbowl. The Giants will be looking to Eli Manning to produce the goods as he did against the Packers while the 49ers will be looking to continue the momentum they picked up in during their thrilling win over the New Orleans Saints this past weekend.
The AFC Championship match looks a little more straight forward with the hot New England Patriots expected to have too much for the Baltimore Ravens who are continuing their fine season. Tom Brady will be leading the Patriots line as always and his experience could be key over the next couple of weeks as Paddy Power make them the 5/4 favourites to win the Superbowl. The Ravens have a massive task on their hands as they head to New England for their second AFC Championship match in four years, keeping the shackles on Brady will be key as always but as the betting suggests they face an uphill task.
NFL Superbowl Betting 2012 with Paddy Power
- 5/4 – New England Patriots
- 11/4 – San Francisco 49ers
- 11/4 – New York Giants
- 11/2 – Baltimore Ravens

Floyd Mayweather 6/4 to Fight Manny Pacquaio In 2012 Boxing Betting
January 6, 2012
Last year was a terrific one for boxing but 2012 promises to be even better with a number of potentially mouthwatering fights on the horizon for fight fans and punters. The fight everyone wants to see is of course the clash between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio which has been on the cards for years now as the pair squabble over the right to be called the best fighter on the planet. The bookmakers are still taking bets on whether the fight will happen and Coral rate the bout as a 6/4 chance during 2012 and it would be a clash to saviour.
British fans and and punters also have plenty to look forward to with plenty of rumours surrounding the likes of David Haye and Amir Khan in particular who both lost their World Championships in 2011. Haye famously retired in October having lost to Wladimir Klitschko but speculations continues to swirl around he will make a return to the ring in 2012 to face older brother Vitali. Patriotic British fight fans can get a price of 33/1 about the Hayemaker fighting and beating both Klitschko brothers at some point during 2012 which looks like a massive ask given the form of the Ukrainian Champions.
Amir Khan controversially lost his World titles in December to Lamont Petersen but he could still be set for a big year in 2012 with a potential bout with Floyd Mayweather not beyond the realms of possibility. Punters wanting to back Khan to fight Mayweather this year can get a price of 12/1 with Coral about that happening although it should be noted that the American is due to start a 90 day jail term any day now. There are some fascinating potential fights on the horizon both in the UK and abroad with the established stars looking to regain their World titles while the younger fighters will be looking to make a name for themselves in 2012.
