Fernando Alonso Favourite In Drivers Championship Without Sebastian Vettel Betting
September 23, 2011
The Drivers Championship may effectively be over but there is still an intriguing Drivers Championship Without Sebastian Vettel betting market which could go right down to the wire. Fernando Alonso is the current 15/8 favourite with William Hill. The Spaniard still has extremely slim hopes of beating SebastianVettel in the actual Drivers Championship but realistically he will have to fight it out for second spot. Vettel’s Red Bull teammate Mark Webber is also in the hunt with odds of 11/4 while Lewis Hamilton is priced at 13/5, with his McLaren racing partner Jenson Button available at 10/3.
On Sunday the racers will line-up for the Singapore Grand Prix in what promises to be an exciting race. As always Vettel will go into the race as the clear favourite. The German has simply been outstanding this season and a win in Singapore could possibly secure him his second F1 World Championship. Such is his dominance that he currently has a massive 112 point lead at the top of the standings, which is sure to increase if his excellent form continues.
Alonso will be confident of winning only his second race of the season after being victorious in Singapore twice in the past three years. Hamilton also won here back in 2009 and will be looking to boost his points tally and restore some pride after recent disappointments.

Sebastian Vettel Favourite In Belgian Grand Prix Odds
August 23, 2011
After a 4-week absence Formula One returns to our screens with the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday 28th August as Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and co attempt to close the gap between themselves and the runaway leader Sebastian Vettel. The German has been outstanding in 2011 but his competitors will take small light from recent results. After winning five of the first six races Vettel has recorded only the one win in the last five Grand Prix. However, due to a few second place finishes in the latter races Vettel has in fact increased the points gap between himself and the rest of the pack to a whopping 85 points. With eight races remaining it is vital that the other contenders really rev up their game.
Vettel is of course the 15/8 favourite to win in Belgium. Although, it is McLaren who are the form team, having come out on top in the last two races before the summer break, with Jenson Button winning in Hungary and Lewis Hamilton victorious in Germany. Despite the large points gap between themselves and Vettel, both racers will still harbour hopes of winning the Drivers Championship and a win in Belgium will really boost their chances. Hamilton won a thrilling race in Belgium last year and has been handed odds of 5/2 to win there again this time around, while Button is available at 13/2.
Mark Webber has been largely overshadowed by his Red Bull team mate this season and is still yet to win a Grand Prix, however, his consistency means he is currently second in the Drivers Championship and with odds of 13/2 to win on Sunday is definitely worth keeping an eye out for. Elsewhere Fernando Alonso is priced at 5/2, the 2008 Belgian Grand Prix winner Felipe Massa is 25/1, Nico Rosberg is 100/1 and the six-time winner at the Spa, Michael Schumacher, is the 150/1 outsider.

British Grand Prix Betting Points Towards Another Vettel Success
July 4, 2011
The Formula 1 season has been dominated so far by the Red Bull Team and in particular Sebastian Vettel and the German heads to Silverstone this weekend as the overwhelming favourite to claim yet another success and extend his lead at the top of the Drivers Standings. Vettel is the defending World Champion and he looks better than ever this season having won six of the eight races so far, he looks a sure thing to reclaim his title this season and the bookmakers believe he will go one step closer to that at Silverstone this weekend.
Vettel won a processional race at Valencia at the last Grand Prix and Victor Chandler believe it could be a similar outcome at the British Grand Prix, the online bookies have priced the German as a 4/6 shot to claim the win and at the moment it is hard to argue with that assessment. The Red Bull Team have had the pace all season and there is no reason to believe that will be any different at the British Grand Prix, another win for him will all but seal the title with only nine races of the season gone.
The home fans will be hoping that Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button can have a successful weekend in their McLaren cars but they have shown little sign of matching the pace of the Red Bull team so far this season. Button won a brilliant GP in Canada recently and punters can get a price of 10/1 with VCBet while teammate Hamilton is shorter at 4/1 with the same bookmaker. However, both are realistic about their chances of matching Vettel this weekend and an each-way wager on one of the two may prove to be the more value bet for punters. The British Grand Prix is always one of the highlights of the F1 season and this years race at Silverstone is looking like a potentially classic race as Vettel looks to continue his dominance of the 2011 season.

Jenson Button 17/2 In European Grand Prix Betting
June 24, 2011
Jenson Button sparked the 2011 Formula One season into life after he won a pulsating race at the Canada Grand Prix two weeks ago. The Brit had a blistering finish, catching up with the race leader Sebastian Vettel with only a few laps remaining, before forcing the young German into a rare mistake on the final lap to snatch a dramatic victory. Although Vettel still leads the overall standings by quite some margin, 60 points to be exact, Button’s win will give both himself and the other top drivers a glimmer of hope in an otherwise one sided season to date.
At 13:00 BST on Sunday 26th June the drivers will be revving up their engines as they get ready to roar into action in Valencia for the European Grand Prix. On Friday it was Mark Webber who was the quickest in the first practice. The Australian has been totally and utterly eclipsed by the exploits of his talented team mate Vettel so far, meaning he will be desperate to get a good starting place on the grid in order to have a chance of winning his first race of the season. The 34–year-old can be found at 25/1 with William Hill to win Pole Position, record the Fastest Lap and finish as the Race Winner.
The Valencia street circuit may not be as glamourous as Monaco or as challenging as Montreal but it does offer some good overtaking opportunities which will make it an exciting race. Vettel will once again head into the race as the favourite, with odds of 23/20. Lewis Hamilton will be eager to put his recent controversies behind him and focus on getting his season back on track and is 7/2 to win on Sunday. At 17/2 Hamilton’s McLaren team mate Button looks good value after his exploits in Montreal, while Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso is available at 9/2 to win his first race of 2011.

Monaco Grand Prix Betting Specials
May 27, 2011
The most glamorous and dangerous race on the circuit is upon us this Sunday as the racers prepare for a frantic battle in the streets of Monaco. The eye-catching Monaco Grand Prix is always one of the highlights on the racing calendar due to its spectacular setting, tight corners, elevation changes and unpredictability. Drivers most show an array of skills in order to finish first, with immense bravery and impeccable precision high on that list. Betfred are themselves providing punters with an eye-popping race special, whereby if your chosen selection finishes second to Lewis Hamilton then they will refund all your losing outright bets as free bets!
Sebastian Vettel stormed to his fourth win in five races last week when he held off a spirited challenge from Lewis Hamilton to win the Spanish Grand Prix. The German thus extended his lead at the top of the standings to a now seemingly uncatchable 41 points, and is unsurprisingly the clear favourite in Monaco, with Betfred putting him at evens to win the race. It was his Red Bull team mate Mark Webber who tasted success here last year and could be a good bet at 5/1 to finaly get his season started and win here in 2011.
Fernando Alonso has told his Ferrari team that they desperately need to take some risks in Monaco if he is to have any chance of catapulting himself back into contention in the Drivers World Championship standings. The Spaniard has impressed in practice in Monaco and has the experience of knowing what it takes to win here having done so in 2006 and 2007. The fiery 29-year-old will also be determined to make amends for last weekend when, despite making an exceptional start where he led the first 18 laps, he eventually lost momentum and slumped to a disappointing fifth place finish. Betfred have Alonso available at 6/1 to win here for the first time in four years.
This tight street circuit could favour the McLaren duo, who will both be equally determined to prevent Vettel from recording yet another victory. Betfred have Hamilton at 4/1 to win, while Button has longer odds of 14/1.

Hamilton 7/1 to win Spanish Grand Prix
May 20, 2011
The fifth race of the season roars into action this Sunday in the Spanish city of Barcelona. In the previous race in Turkey Sebastian Vettel won his third race of the season, extending his lead at the top of the F1 Drivers Championship to a staggering 34 points. If Lewis Hamilton and co have any chance of catching the prolific German they desperately need to put pedal to the metal in Spain.
As in every race to date in 2011 Vettel has been installed as the odds-on favourite for the win, with Boylesports pricing the 23-year-old at 8/11 to come away with all 25 points. Hamilton, who looked good in qualifying, is available at good odds of 7/1 to win his second race of the season, while his McLaren team mate Jenson Button is 16/1. Mark Webber was successful in Spain last year and is 11/4 to put in a repeat performance and win there this year and spark his season into life.
The Barcelona track is well known for being very difficult to overtake, with this in mind you would think that it will be hard to beat the driver who starts in pole position. Fernando Alonso, who finished second on this course in 2010, is 10/1 to start the race in pole position and 8/1 to win the race. The Spaniard is lagging back in fifth in the standings and needs a win to get himself back in contention for the Championship, and what better way to kick-start his season then winning on his home patch.
Spanish Grand Prix Outright Winner Odds
- 8/11 – Sebastian Vettel
- 11/4 – Mark Webber
- 7/1 – Lewis Hamilton
- 8/1 – Fernando Alonso

Turkish Grand Prix Betting
May 6, 2011
Forumla One returns to our screens this Sunday after a three week absence. This time the drivers will be locking horns in Turkey at the Istanbul Racing Circuit. The Turkish Grand Prix is a great circuit for overtaking so expect lots of action throughout the 58 laps. Last year’s race was a dramatic affair that will best be remembered for the moment the two Red Bull drivers crashed into each other, handing a one-two to McLaren. The incident highlighted the heated relationship between Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber and sparked off a series of heated exchanges between the pair.
A few weeks ago at the China Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton broke Vettel’s 2011 winning streak with a fine win, and as the winner here in Turkey last year, Hamilton has got every chance of repeating that success and is priced at 3/1 to finish first on Sunday. Although, who would back against Vettel to return in style, with the bookies William Hill offering odds of 9/2 for the German to get pole position, fastest lap and win the race.
Mark Webber looked to be back to his best in China, finishing in a creditable third place despite starting way back in 18th on the grid. The Australian has been completely overshadowed by his Red Bull counterpart this season, but will be more than determined to spring an upset here, especially after what happened last year, and has odds of 5/1 to do so. Felipe Massa should not be overlooked considering he won three times in a row in Turkey between 2006-2008. The Brazilian will be the first to admit that he is not yet peaking this season, but at 25/1 to win he is definitely worth a punt.
Jenson Button is currently third in the F1 standings, despite only finishing in the top three once so fat in 2011. The Brit will be hungry for a win, which would see him close the gap between himself Hamilton and Vettel, and is available at 15/2 to race home in first. Nick Heidfeld and Vitaly Petrov have both made podium finishes this season and the drivers are available at 9/1 and 12/1 respectively to finish in the top three in Turkey.
Turkish Grand Prix Race Winner Odds
- 13/10 – Sebastian Vettel
- 3/1 – Lewis Hamilton
- 5/1 – Mark Webber

Alonso 10/1 to taste victory in China
April 15, 2011
The third race of the new Formula One season takes place on Sunday and after two dominate performances in Melbourne and Malaysia Sebastian Vettel will be aiming to complete the hat-trick at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. The Red Bull driver excelled in practice in Friday’s session and at the time of writing looks the favourite to get his third straight pole position for this Sunday’s race.
The McLaren duo Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton will provide stiff competition as they aim to put a halt to Vettel’s impeccable start to the 2011 season. The British drivers have both been winners here in the past, Button in 2010 and Hamilton in 2008, and both of them will have strong desires of becoming the only ever driver to win twice on this circuit. However, Vettel has also tasted success here, winning two years ago in 2009, and in his current form it is difficult to see another winner. Paddy Power have the German available at 3/1 to start the race in pole position, win the race and achieve the fastest lap.
Fernando Alonso is one to look out for at 10/1 to win in China, and as a previous winner here he knows the circuit well. Although the Spaniard has yet to finish in the top 3 in either race so far, he has performed well with a poor Ferrari car and you sense once the improvements have been made he will be back where he belongs. Nico Rosberg has performed very well in qualification and is definitely worth a flutter at 66/1. Nick Heidfeld finished third last weekend in Malaysia and looks a good bet at 5/1 to do the same in China. Last weekend in Malaysia only 16 of the 24 cars crossed the line and Paddy Power are offering odds of 9/4 for 16 or 17 drivers to finish the race this weekend in Shanghai.
Chinese Grand Prix Betting Odds
- 8/11 – Sebastian Vettel
- 9/2 – Lewis Hamilton
- 5/1 – Mark Webber
- 15/2 – Jenson Button
- 10/1 – Fernando Alonso

Button 17/2 to win first Grand Prix of the season
April 8, 2011
After a torrid build-up to the new season the McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button surprised everyone two weeks ago in Melbourne, with Hamilton finishing second and Button back in sixth after he incurred a drive through-penalty. Button impressed in Friday’s practice session, finishing second behind Red Bull’s Mark Webber. The 31-year-old won in Malaysia as a Brawn driver back in 2009 in torrential rain and with downpours expected this Sunday the Britain will be hoping for a repeat performance. Paddy Power have the McLaren driver at tempting odds of 17/2 for the win.
Unsurprisingly the 2010 Drivers Champion Sebastian Vettel leads the way in the Malaysian Grand Prix, and is the clear favourite at 6/5. The German is looking for back-to-back wins after winning in Malaysia last year. Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton will push him all the way and are both 4/1 to pick up a win. Nico Rosberg finished third on this circuit in 2010 and is 40/1 with Paddy Power to go two steps further this year. The Mercedes driver is also available at 6/1 for a podium finish. Renault’s Vitaly Petrov was the surprise driver in the Australian Grand Prix two weeks ago where he finished third. You can back the Russian for another podium finish on Sunday at 7/1.
Fernando Alonso has won in Malaysia on two ocassions, back in 2005 and 2007, and after a good comeback in Australia he will be determined to register his first podium finish of the season. Michael Schumacher will be hoping to recapture some of the old magic which made him victorious on this circuit back in 2000, 2001 and 2004, and is an outside bet at 25/1.

Victor Chandler are offering Hamilton at 8/1 and Button at 10/1 to win in Australia. Red Bull enjoyed a hugely successful 2010 season where they won the Constructors Championship by 44 points. They will no doubt want to continue their impressive form into the new season and you can back a Red Bull car to finish first in Melbourne at odds of 4/5. Fernando Alonso is well known for his fiery competitive spirit and risky manouvers on the race track and Victor Chandler have him at 7/2 to post the fastest lap this Sunday.
Mark Webber will be determined to make 2011 his year after crumbling at the end of last year’s campaign, whilst Felipe Massa will be looking to rediscover the form that saw him finish second in the Drivers Championship in 2008. After a dissapointing comeback last season where he finished ninth overall, Michael Schumacher will also be hoping for a vastly improved 2011.
