Ryan Moore Odds On In Royal Ascot Top Jockey Betting

June 7, 2011

We are fast approaching the 2011 Royal Ascot Meeting and the top Jockey Betting for the week is pointing towards another stellar book of rides for Ryan Moore, he of course will have his pick of the Sir Michael Stoute horses as well as picking up some nice rides from Aidan O’Brien. The Top Jockey Betting is always one of the most hotly contested markets during Royal Ascot but this season Paddy Power are sure its a one horse race with Ryan Moore currently as short as 4/5 to claim the most most winners at the Festival.

Moore will be on board a number of fancied runners at the Royal Meeting including the likes of Kingsgate Native, who will run in either the Kings Stand Stakes or the Golden Jubilee Stakes, and So You Think who could take his chance in the Prince Of Wales Stakes. The key to the chances of Moore at Royal Ascot will be his ability to pick up some nice rides from Aidan O’Brien and the Ballydoyle team which he has been doing with some success already this season. The closest challenger to Moore in the Top Jockey Betting at the moment is Kieren Fallon who is currently priced at 13/2 with Paddy Power, Fallon is always a man to be reckoned with and is sure to pick up some nice winners at the Royal Meeting.

At the moment Fallon is without a retainer job so is often the man trainers turn to when they are looking for a top jock in the big races, he will have plenty of rides during the week and he could prove a nice piece of value if he gets the week off to a good start. One man who does have a top job with a trainer is Ricghard Hughes who is continuing to bang out the winners for Richard Hannon, he will have the likes of Canford Cliffs and Lilbourne Lad among others to ride and if the stable is in form he could certainly challenge Ryan Moore for the most amount of winners. Hughes looks to be value here against Moore and can currently be backed  at a nice looking 8/1 with Paddy Power.com to claim the coveted Top Jockey armband for the most winners at the end of the Royal Meeting.

Wokingham Stakes Odds

June 19, 2009

The Wokingham Stakes is the most competitive of all 30 Royal Ascot races and despite its status as a Haritage Handicap it is the most popular race of the week for betting on. Twenty Eight runners stampeding over 6 Furlongs makes this a great race and such is the competitiveness of this race the odds on all runners are appealing to punters.

The shortest priced runner in Saturday’s race (4:25 on BBC1) is 11/2 and that is the favourite, Jimmy Styles a Clive Cox trainer horse thought to be ahead of the handicapper and providing he can navigate his way through this large field, should have a big chance of justifying the shorest price tag . Another horse thought to be well in at the weights and on an upward curve for trainer William Haggas is High Standing who is bidding for a hat trick of wins this season and is the 7/1 second favourite.

Our tip for this race though is ZIDANE who has an excellent record at Ascot, never disgracing himself on his six runs at the course and has the experience of running in big fields. He ran ran at Royal Ascot last year in the Group One Golden Jubilee Stakes, this year opting for the easier option of handicap company.  He has a 50% strike rate of making the places when running over six furlongs, making the 25/1 on offer at Paddy Power a cracking each way bet.

The second favourite is Geordieland ridden by Shane Kelly. The Free bets Blog tip goes to Veracity which could be wise for an each way gamble.
