Can Long Run get first place in this years RSA Chase?

Running on the old course at Cheltenham, the RSA Chase takes place on day two of the Cheltenham Festival. The race is ran over a distance of 3 miles and 110 yards with runners having to traverse 19 fences. The race is a Grade 1 National Hunt race for novice chasers aged 5 years and over

Past winners on this race have gone on to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the last to do so was the Paul Nicholls trained Denman in 2008 following his win on the RSA Chase in 2007.

Captain Cee Bee is favourite to win the 2010 Irish Independent Arkle Chase

The second race of the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival is the Arkle Chase which is the premier novice chase of the national hunt season. It is a grade 1 race and is open to horses aged 5 years and over. The race this year will be ran on March 16th and the runners will have to cover a distance of 2 miles and take on the 12 fences.

Winners of this race have normally gone on to do well in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Queen Mother Champion Chase, last years winner Forpadydeplasterer ridden by Barry Geraghty is set to feature in the Champion Chase. Previous winners of the Arkle have included Moscow Flyer who then went on to win the Champion Chase on two occasions.

Captain Cee Bee is currently showing as favourite at odds of 3/1 with Ladbrokes undoubtedly down the good form it has as the festival where it won the Supreme two years ago, second favourite is Long Run at odds of 5/1. One of the hottest bets made on the Cheltenham Festival is who will be this years top jockey, coming home on the most winners during the four day duration of the event. It is normally a hotly contested event but last years winner Ruby Walsh is a very clear early favourite to repeat his success.

The 4.05 race from Ludlow Racecourse is a handicap chase; its full name is the Teme Conditional Jockeys Handicap Chase. The race will feature 15 runners over a distance of 3 miles with the going being set at good to soft.  It is a class 4 race for horses aged 5 years and over.

Solwhit is the new favourite for the 2010 Champion Hurdle

The favourite for the 2010 Champion Hurdle which is scheduled for day one of the Cheltemham Festival has now gone to Solwhit from odds of 4/1 to just 7/2 following the defeat of Zaymarat Kelso.  Go Native has also seen its odds slashed from 5/1 to become the second favourite at odds of 9/2.  Last years winner show winner Punjabi is showing odds of 10/1 compared to last years 22/1.

The Cheltenham Festival takes place from Prestbury Park and is known as the home of the national hunt races, the festival looks set to attract hundreds of thousands of punters over the course of the four day festival.
