Will 2010 be the year to back Ian Poulter?
January 26, 2010
Yesterday in the Abu Dhabi Championship British golfer Ian Poulter suffered a gut turning one stoke loss in the tournament which denied him a win and giving the title to the German Martin Kaymer who took the tournament for his second time. Poulter managed to keep his cool on this occasion and there was no repeat of the performance he showed at the Mercedes-Benz Championship when he smashed his tee marker in frustration!
Despite the loss his performance in the contest was enough for Poulter to climb into the top ten list of the worlds top golfers as the 34 year old has now recorded four consecutive top 10 finishes on the European Tour.
This is enough for Paddy Power to think that Ian Poulter may now good enough to go after on of the majors and come away with one of the big prize fund on offer in 2010, so they have released his odds for winning some of the major golf tournaments of 2010.
Ian Poulter to win:
- 40/1 – 2010 US Masters
- 66/1 – 2010 US Open
- 33/1 – 2010 Open Championship
- 66/1 – 2010 PGA Championship

Tiger the Favourite in Betting Odds to Roar to Victory in the 2009 US Open Golf
June 18, 2009
Tiger Woods is as short as 7/4 in the bookmakers odds to win his fourth US Open title and a fifteenth golf major when he takes to the tee at Bethpage Black in the 2009 US Open.
His last major win came twelve months ago, again in the US Open, when he won despite his knee injury that saw he hang up his clubs for the remainder of 2008. However, Tiger is now back to full fitness and will be hoping to get back to winning ways on the biggest stage.
He returns to the course where he won his second US Open title in 2002, the Bethpage Black Course at Bethpage State Park, New York State. When victorious in 2002, he was the only player to score under par in the tournament and with that in mind, he looks a sure fire bet to once again be in the running once again in 2009. The course is considered to e one of the most exciting and difficult course of all the US Open venues used and following the drama of its last visit, it is expected to pose equally as many problems this year.
If you are planning to bet on the US Open at any stage over the weekend we recommend that you check out Paddypower’s odds, especially if you are betting each way as they are paying out a 1/4 of the odds on the top 6 players!

April 8, 2009
For Golf lovers around the World, the words Augusta and Golf can only mean one thing, the first major of the season is upon us and the 2009 US Masters Tournament promises to be as exciting as ever with the return of Tiger Woods to the Majors scene following his absence from the the British Open and PGA Championship last eyar due to injury.
Whenever Tiger lines up in the field, he is automatically made the bookmakers favourite to win and for good reason, he is undoubtedly the best Golfer the game has ever seen and we should all appreciate that we are lucky enough to enjoy seeing him play. Tiger is currently best odds of 5/2 with Sportingbet to win his fifth US Masters Crown, the last coming back in 2005 and that is certainly a generous offering for a player who has such profound form on this Georgia course.
