Middlesbrough vs Sunderland Odds – Fraizer Campbell Anytime Goal Special

February 8, 2012

Middlesbrough vs SunderlandWednesday 8th February (ITV1, 19.45)

The second installment of the Tees-Wear derby takes place tonight as Middlesbrough play Sunderland at the Riverside Stadium in their FA Cup fourth round replay. Boro managed to hold Sunderland to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light just over a week ago and with home advantage tonight they will be hoping to upset their North East rivals and dump them out the cup. The winners will set up a fifth round tie at home to Arsenal. Sunderland go into the match as the 19/20 favourites, while Boro can be backed at 3/1, with a draw available at 23/10. Ladbrokes will refund losing first goalscorer bets if Fraizer Campbell scores at any time.

Sunderland have been on fire under Martin O’Neill who has remarkably taken them from relegation strugglers to eighth in the league. The Black Cats have lost just once in their last ten matches in all competitions and have won three of their last four trips on the road. O’Neill has stated his intent to win the FA Cup and will be confident of coming away with a victory tonight. Boro have hit a  rocky patch of late and are without a win in five matches. They won just one of their last eight games and will be without striker Scott McDonald, while Marvin Emnes, Faris Haroun and Barry Robson are all doubts.

Sunderland are unbeaten in the last five meetings between the clubs and haven’t lost away to Boro in their last three trips to the Riverside. The previous two clashes between the teams have ended 1-1 and that result is available at 11/2 to happen tonight in 90 minutes. Due to the contrasting form of both teams Sunderland are the hot favourites to win the tie and have been priced at 8/1 to win 2-0 and 7/1 to win 1-0. Boro’s attacking options are slim and they could struggle to find the back of the net. However, this is the FA Cup and anything can happen, with a Boro 1-0 win priced at 7/1.

The in-form Fraizer Campbell and Stephane Sessegnon have been installed as the 5/1 favourites to open the scoring at the Riverside Stadium. Campbell has scored twice since his return from injury, including the equaliser against Boro, while Sessegnon has been at the heart of their attacks in recent weeks. Connor Wickham has been handed odds of 6/1 to score first, while Dong Won Ji is available at 7/1. With the 8/1 priced Marvin Emnes an injury doubt, Lukas Jutkiewicz (also at 8/1) could be the way to go for Boro.

Liverpool vs Man Utd Odds – Penalty Special With Paddy Power

January 26, 2012

Liverpool v Man Utd - Saturday 28th January (12.45pm ITV1)

Fierce rivals Liverpool and Man Utd lock horns at Anfield on Saturday in what promises to be a fiery FA Cup fourth round encounter. Liverpool head into the match as the narrow 8/5 favourites for the win, while United can be backed at 7/4, with a draw available at 11/5. If there is a penalty scored in this match, Paddy Power will refund all losing First/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.

Liverpool will be looking to win their first FA Cup since 2006, while United haven’t won the prestigious trophy since 2004. Kenny Dalglish’s men will be brimming with confidence after securing their place in the Carling Cup Final following their 3-2 aggregate win over Man City, while United, who recently knocked out City in the FA Cup third round, will also head into the match with a swagger following their 2-1 win at Arsenal last weekend. The sides played out a closely fought 1-1 draw at Anfield earlier in the season – which was clouded by the Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra incident – and this match is likely to be just as tight. United beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield in the third round last year and have only lost three of the 16 meetings between the sides in the FA Cup.

Wayne Rooney is the 9/2 favourite to grab the game’s first goal on Saturday, while Danny Welbeck, who scored the opener against Arsenal last weekend, and Javier Hernandez have both been priced at 6/1. Liverpool’s problems in front of goal have been much publicised this season and they will no doubt be doing everything they can to get Craig Bellamy on the ball. He is the hub of their attacking play, with his blistering speed a problem for any defence. The Welshman is available at 6/1 to open the scoring. Inspirational captain Steven Gerrard has three goals in his last four appearances against United and could be a good bet at 15/2 to score first.

Wolves vs Birmingham Money Back Special With Ladbrokes

January 18, 2012

FA Cup third round replay: Wolves v Birmingham:- Wednesday 18th January (ITV 1, 8pm)

The West Midlands rivals lock horns once again tonight as they battle it out at Molineux for a place in the FA Cup fourth round. If the team you back wins on penalties in Ladbrokes will refund your losing 90 minutes match bet. Premier League side Wolves go into the game as the evens favourites, while Championship outfit Birmingham can be backed at 11/4, with a draw priced at 12/5.

When these sides met at St Andrew’s the honours were shared after an uninspiring goalless draw. Since that fixture Birmingham have recorded a 6-0 win at Millwall, while Wolves earned a credible draw away to high-flying Tottenham. While Wolves’ main focus for the season is preserving their Premier League status, Birmingham are aiming to get back into the top flight at the first time of asking. This replay definitely comes as a distraction but due to the rivalry both club’s will be gunning for the win, with the winners travelling to Sheffield United in the next round.

With in-form striker Steven Fletcher expected to be rested, Kevin Doyle at 9/2 and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake at 11/2 could prove to be good bets to open the scoring. Birmingham’s Marlon King is priced at 7/1 to score first, while Nenad Milijas and Nikola Žigic have both been handed odds of 8/1. If the score is still level towards the end of the match then it would come as no surprise to see Birmingham sneak a last gasp winner. Chris Houghton’s men have scored a goal in the 89th minute or later in four of their last five matches and you wouldn’t bet against them doing that tonight.

Wolves are without a win in eight games in all competitions and with five draws in their last six matches you can see tonight’s encounter going the same way. A 1-1 draw is a tempting bet at 6/1, while a 2-1 Wolves win is available at 8/1. Birmingham can be backed at 10/1 to come away with a narrow 1-0 win.

Match Betting

FA Cup Betting – Leicester vs Nottingham Forest Penalty Special

January 17, 2012

Leicester vs Nottingham Forest – Tuesday 17th January

Championship sides Leicester and Nottingham Forest will lock horns at the King Power Stadium for the chance to progress through to the FA Cup fourth round. The winner of tonight’s third round replay will go on to host League Two side Swindon Town who dumped out Wigan. The previous cup meeting between the East Midlands rivals resulted in a drab goalless draw and the recent poor form of both teams means this match could follow a similar pattern. Ladbrokes have installed Leicester as the odds-on 8/11 favourites, while Forest can be backed at 7/2, with a draw at 90 minutes priced at 5/2. If the team you back wins on penalties, Ladbrokes will refund your losing 90 minutes match bet.

Forest are having a torrid time in the league. Just one win in their last nine matches has seen them drop into the relegation zone. They are also having a shocker in front of goal having failed to score in nine of their last ten games. Similarly, Leicester’s recent record makes for miserable reading with just the won win from their last eight matches, with their defeat at home to Barnsley last weekend their first loss at the King Power Stadium under Nigel Pearson. Both league and cup meetings between the teams this season have ended in a draw making the odds of 5/2 in 90 minutes very tempting. The match is unlikely to be a thriller and could well be won by a single goal, with City priced at 5/1 to come away with a 1-0 within 90 minutes and 7/1 to win 2/1. A 0-0 is available at 9/1, while a 1-0 Forest win is 10/1.

Leicester’s David Nugent is the 9/2 favourite to open the scoring, as he did at the City Ground when these two sides met in the league back in August. Jermaine Beckford can be backed at 5/1 to score first, as can Paul Gallagher. Forest will be hoping the 8/1 priced Marlon Harewood and Marcus Tudgay can get them off to a bright start.

Match Betting

  • 8/11 – Leicester
  • 7/2 – Nottingham Forest
  • 5/2 – Draw

Correct score

  • 5/1 – Leicester 1-0
  • 13/2 – Leicester 2-0
  • 7/1 – Leicester 2-1
  • 9/1 – Draw 0-0
  • 6/1 – Draw 1-1
  • 18/1 – Draw 2-2
  • 10/1 – Nottingham Forest 1-0
  • 20/1 – Nottingham Forest 2-0
  • 14/1 – Nottingham Forest 2-1

First Goalscorer

  • 9/2 – David Nugent
  • 5/1 – Jermaine Beckford
  • 5/1 – Paul Gallagher
  • 11/2 – Steve Howard
  • 6/1 – Jeffrey Schlupp
  • 8/1 – Marlon Harewood
  • 8/1 – Marcus Tudgay

FA Cup Third Round Betting – Red Card Specials

January 5, 2012

Birmingham v WolvesSaturday 7th January (12.30pm, ESPN)
Man City v Man UtdSunday 8th January (1pm, ITV1)
Arsenal v LeedsMonday 9th January (7.45pm, Sky Sports 1)

The FA Cup third round is back this weekend which means football fans are in store for all the drama and excitement that is synonymous with it. To celebrate its return Paddy Power are offering a cracking money-back special: If there is a Red Card in any of the above matches, then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on that match.

The pick of the matches comes on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium when Manchester City lock horns with fierce local rivals Manchester United in what promises to be a spicy derby. While United will be desperate to get revenge on City for their humiliating 6-1 drubbing earlier in the season, City will be eager to inflict more damage on their neighbours. Roberto Mancini’s men have been installed as the 11/10 favourites for the win, while United can be backed at 23/10, with a draw priced at 11/5. Sergio Aguero is the 9/2 favourite to open the scoring, while Rooney has been handed odds of 6/1. It is likely to be a tighter match than the one back in October, with a 2-1 home win priced at 7/1.

The early kick-off on Saturday sees Championship side Birmingham City square up against Premier League outfit Wolves in the West Midlands derby. Neither team will be particularly happy with their respective league positions and they will therefore hope that the FA Cup is a welcome distraction. Paddy Power have installed Birmingham as the narrow 11/8 favourites, while Wolves are priced at 15/8, with a draw perhaps the way to go at 9/4. City’s Marlon King is the 5/1 favourite to score first, while the in-form Steven Fletcher can be backed at 6/1. A 2-2 draw could prove to be a fruitful bet at 11/1.

On Monday night Arsenal host Leeds at the Emirates Stadium in a repeat of last season’s third round tie. In that fixture an impressive Leeds side managed to hold The Gunners to a 1-1 draw, only to lose 3-1 at Elland Road 11 days later. A reply this time round is fairly unlikely. Apart from their slip-up against Fulham last Tuesday Arsenal have been on top form in the last few months, while Leeds have struggled for consistency. Arsene Wenger’s men are the odds-on 2/9 favourites for the win, while Leeds have been handed long odds of 11/1, with a draw available at 5/1. Robin Van Persie is the 11/5 favourite to open the scoring, with a 2-0 win for Arsenal looking good at 6/1.

Arsenal Betting Specials With William Hill

August 4, 2011

As the start of the 2011/12 season edges ever closer there are still a large number of unanswered questions concerning Arsenal; Will Cesc Fabregas stay or go? Will Samir Nasri depart? Can The Gunners finally win a trophy this year? Could Arsene Wenger be sacked this season? Numerous key issues and matters are still unresolved at the Emirates stadium, which is having a negative effect on the club’s preparation for the upcoming season.

Arsene Wenger will be under some serious pressure this year, something he is rapidly growing accustomed to following his side’s trophy drought. His previously concrete job as Arsenal manager will come under scrutiny this season if Arsenal fail to win a trophy for what would be the seventh consecutive season. Despite having a hugely talented, young squad, Arsenal evidently lack the experience and mental toughness to close out games, which cost them dear last season. In order to erase those bitter memories Wenger needs to invest in some high quality players while doing everything he can to hold onto his most valuable assets.

Two Arsenal players who are currently the centre of a transfer storm are captain Cesc Fabregas and their best player last season Samir Nasri. Arsenal fans will have everything crossed in the hope that these two stars will stay at the Emirates for at least another year. Fabregas is once again being heavily linked with Barcelona, but for the time being has remained stum over his future. The 24-year-old has extremely short odds of just 1/4 with William Hill to not be with the club after the transfer window, whilst the odds are 9/4 that he will stay. Nasri’s future is also up in the air and William Hill have installed Manchester City as the 8/13 odds-on favourites to get the talented Frenchman, with Man Utd available at 6/5 and Chelsea 8/1.

All Arsenal fans crave a bit of silverware, it doesn’t matter what shape or size, any will do at the moment. They came agonisingly close to winning the Carling Cup last season but choked in the final minute to gift Birmingham the trophy. Arsenal are currently 8/1 with William Hill to go one step better this year and win that trophy, while they are priced at 9/1 to win the FA Cup and 10/1 to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004. For Multiple Trophy odds see below.

Arsenal Trophy Multiples:

  • 1/6 – No Trophies
  • 50/1 – Premier League/Carling Cup
  • 50/1 – Premier League/FA Cup
  • 50/1 – FA Cup/Carling Cup
  • 100/1 – FA Cup/Champions League
  • 100/1 – Carling Cup/Champions League
  • 100/1 – Premier League/Champions League
  • 500/1 – Premier League/FA Cup/Carling Cup
  • 750/1 – FA Cup/Carling Cup/Champions League
  • 750/1 – Premier League/Carling Cup/Champions League
  • 750/1 – Premier League/FA Cup/Champions League
  • 1500/1 – Premier League/FA Cup/Carling Cup/Champions League

Chelsea and Andre Villas-Boas Specials with Paddy Power

June 23, 2011

Ever since Chelsea ruthlessly axed Carlo Ancelotti in the aftermath of their final game of the 2010/11 season there has been a media frenzy concerning the identity of their new manager. With Guus Hiddink the obvious favourite since betting commenced, it came as a surprise earlier this week when Andre Villas-Boas’s name was re-entered into the ballot. Yesterday Chelsea put an end to heavy speculation by appointing the 33-year-old as Ancelotti’s replacement, and as a result Paddy Power have an array of cracking Chelsea and Villas-Boas betting specials for the 2011/12 season, in what promises to be yet another entertaining year at Stamford Bridge.

After what happened to Ancelotti at the end of the previous campaign, following his failure to win any silverware, there will be heaps of pressure on Villas-Boas to win at least one trophy this season – for which he has odds of evens. The former Porto boss has already displayed his confidence by stating that he is targeting the quadruple in his very first season in change, a bold and perhaps erratic statement that he will surely regret come May…providing he lasts that long. As we know football is an unpredictable game and virtually anything can happen in the next 12 months…for instance can Chelsea do the unthinkable and win the Premier League, Champions League, Carling Cup and FA Cup at odds of 350/1? Unlikely but possible.

As the whole of the football world is aware, Roman Abramovich is absolutely obsessed with winning the Champions League, which is something that has so far eluded six different managers during the Russian’s time at the club. Paddy Power currently have Villas-Boas at 2/1 to win the lucrative European competition in his first season with the club. If the ambitious amongst you are feeling particularly inspired by his appointment then you can back Chelsea to match the famous Manchester United treble winning season of 1998/99 by placing a bet on the Blues to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup this upcoming season at odds of 100/1.

There has already been much talk on which team will inflict the first league defeat of the Villas Boas reign. The Portuguese manager has been dealt a potentially tricky first game away to Stoke City, and the Potters may be a good bet at 7/2 to deliver that first defeat on Chelsea’s new boss. In their following three games West Brom, Norwich and Sunderland are unlikely to pose too many problems but then on 17th September Chelsea have a crunch match with Manchester United at Old Trafford, which will be huge indicator of how they are progressing under their new boss.

FA Cup Final Money-Back Specials: Man City v Stoke City

May 12, 2011

Manchester City and Stoke City go head-to-head at 3pm on Saturday 14th May in the 2011 FA Cup Final. While Man City are aiming to kick-start a revolution at the club with their first trophy of the Abu-Dhabi era, Stoke will be gunning for glory in their first ever FA Cup Final appearance. To celebrate the occasion Paddy Power will refund all losing 4 folds and upwards bets if your bet is winning at half time but not at full time.

The teams met last season in the historic competition, and after a marathon two matches, Stoke managed to beat Man City 3-1 in extra time in the fifth-round replay. City are without a win in the FA Cup since 1976, and the club hope a win at Wembley will mark the foundation for future success. City will be in confident mood following their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, which guaranteed their entry into next season’s lucrative Champions League. City’s qualification means that win or lose Stoke too will enjoy European football next season in the form of the Europa League, which is massive for a club that only gained promotion to the Premier League in  2008.

Carlos Tevez is expected to have recovered from a hamstring injury in time for what could be one of his last ever games for the club, following speculation that he will move away from Eastlands this summer. Paddy Power have the Argentine at 4/1 to score the opening goal of the game, with  fellow forwards Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko both priced at 9/5 to score at any point during the 90 minutes. Stoke will rely heavily on Kenwyne Jones and Jonathan Walters for goals, and Paddy Power have the strikers at 8/1 and 9/1 respectively to open the scoring. Walters, who scored two against his former club Bolton in the semi-finals, is available at 40/1 to grab a brace (in 90 minutes) in the final.

Man City start the game as clear favourites to win outright at 1/3, but they know that Stoke will be no pushovers and therefor a close game is predicted. City look good value at 9/1 with Paddy Power to win 2-1 in 90 minutes. However, the clubs have remarkably drawn 1-1 (in 90 minutes) in their last four games making it highly possible that the match on Saturday goes into extra-time. Should this scenario occur Man City are 13/2 to win in extra time.

FA Cup money back specials

April 15, 2011

This weekend the FA Cup returns to our screens with two all-Premier League crackers. On the Saturday Manchester City take on Manchester United whilst Sunday’s match pits Bolton against Stoke City, and Victor Chandler are offering some sizzling money back specials for both games. If the match you choose to bet on goes to a penalty shoot-out Victor Chandler will refund the losing First Goalscorer, Correct Score and Double Result (HT/FT) bets on the match as a free bet.

The eagerly anticipated Manchester derby will explode into action on Saturday at 5:15pm as Manchester City and Manchester United lock horns in what promises to be a pulsating match. With Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez absent, Dimitar Berbatov is the favourite to open the scoring and can be backed at 5/1 to do so. Man City’s Mario Balotelli will be given his chance to shine and is 6/1 to score the first goal. Paul Scholes’ memorable last minute winner against City last year will still be fresh in the player’s minds and the veteran midfielder is 14/1 to score the last goal of the game, in what could be his last ever match against Man City.

The match is expected to be fiercely competitive and there is every chance it could go beyond 90 minutes. United are available at 6/1 to win the game in extra time or 10/1 on penalties whilst City are priced at 10/1 to win in extra time and the same odds to win the match courtesy of a penalty shoot-out.

On the Sunday Bolton will battle it out with Stoke City at 4pm for a place in the final. This match may lack the glamour and spice of the other tie but it definitely won’t disappoint in terms of passion and competitiveness as both teams will be determined to make the final. Bolton are marginal favourites to win the match in 90 minutes at 8/5, whilst Stoke are 2/1. With little to choose between the two sides a draw at 23/10 is very tempting. The match is likely to be a very cagey encounter with neither side taking many risks, therefore a 1-1 draw at odds of 11/2 is good value.

Similarly to the Manchester semi-final this match could go beyond 90 minutes, and if so Bolton are favourites at 15/2 to win in extra-time whilst Stoke are 9/1. Both teams have odds of 10/1 to win on penalties.

Manchester City v Manchester United – 90 minutes Match Odds

21/20 – Manchester United

3/1 – Manchester City

12/5 – Draw

Bolton v Stoke City – 90 minutes Match Odds

8/5 – Bolton

23/10 – Draw

FA Cup Semi-Final Specials

Manchester United are the favourties to progress to FA Cup semi finals ahead of Arsenal

March 10, 2011

If this games was a Premier League fixture it would no doubt be the biggest match of either teams season as they are both clambering to be crowned Premier League Champions, however they must put their title aspirations to one side when the sides face each other on Saturday in the sixth round FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have been named the favourites by the bookies, boosted by having the home advantage but following their two game run of defeats in the Premier League and Arsenals recent rejuvenation which has seen Arsene Wenger’s side close the gap in the Premier League to be second in the table. Here at freebetsblog.com we are going to go for the attractive away win which is currently showing odds of 3/1.

Manchester United v Arsenal match odds

All odds for this market come from bookmakers Paddy Power.

  • 10/11 – Man Utd win
  • 3/1 – Arsenal win
  • 5/2 – Draw

Paddy Power are offering a money back offer on the match if either side manages to come from behind to win the game then they will refund all of the losing first and last goalscorer bets, as well as correct score and scorecast singles made on the match.

Currently showing great odds in the goal scorer marker is Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie who is at odds of 6/1 to be named the first player on the score sheet.
