Ashes fourth test betting specials from Boylesports
December 23, 2010
The fourth Test of the 2010/11 Ashes series is upon us and Andrew Strauss’s England side will be hoping that Mitchell Johnson has finished with his purple patch that saw his man of the match performance ruin the third test for England at Perth. If he can overdo it on the turkey and mince pies then maybe England will have a chance when then next begins in Melbourne on Boxing Day.
His excellent spell of fast bowling at the last test have made bookmakers Boylesports give him odds of 7/4 to be the top wicket taker for Aussies.
Australia’s top wicket taker in Melbourne
England’s Grame Swann will be looking to improve his form at the MCG at Melbourne after only taking two wickets at the last test at the Waca and he is currently being quoted at odds of 5/6 to take less than five wickets during the fourth test.
Fourth Test Specials
- 3/1 – Any player to take a match ten wicket haul

Betfred offering cash back offer on the 2nd test at Adelaide
December 2, 2010
After managing to bounce back to a draw at the end of the 1st Test at the Gabba, can Andrew Strauss’s team continue their good form at the Adelaide Oval? His side prepare to enter the second test in Adelaide which begins on December 3rd with the Australians keen to get their hands on England’s Ashes.
Australia v England odds
England are expected to field the same side that plated in the first test and Coach Andy Flower will return to training after having treatment for cancer which caused him to miss some of the first test.
The Australians will be bolstered by the news that vice-captain Michael Clarke has said that he is fit enough to play after he has recovered from a back injury, however they should be without pace bowler Mitchell Johnson who after his poor performance in the first test is expected to be dropped in favour of Doug Bollinger.

How to stay awake during the Ashes
November 25, 2010
We are all excited by the arrival of the Ashes, but the 10 hour time difference is a bit of a problem for the cricket mad sports fans that could not make it over to Australia to watch it in person. The action starts around midnight each day and it is expected to finish just in time for breakfast. For some people it’s easy to switch from sleeping days to nights but for the majority we will fall asleep!
So what do we do if we want the see the historic test series between England and Australia and watch Andrew Strauss’s side retain the Ashes?
To give you a fighting chance over the coming weeks here are some tips for keeping awake and not missing the matches. One of the best ways is to take power naps when play has stopped for tea and biscuits!
- Take a power nap of 15 minutes once at 2am and then again after 4am
- Before the nap have some coffee (not de-caff) or a drink like diet coke that has plenty of caffeine (the caffeine should kick in after your nap)
- Don’t sleep for longer than 15 minutes, once you enter deep sleep you will be groggy
- Don’t pig out, snack but not till you are stuffed
- Don’t drink alcohol or sugary drinks
- Keep the lights on
- Don’t lie down on the sofa
If you follow these tips you should be able to enjoy the Ashes and if you keep it up and sleep during the day you will soon adjust.
Whatever you do, if you stay awake all night don’t go to work afterwards if you can. if you must go to the office or factory please do not drive or operate heavy machinery and more importantly don’t’ get caught sleeping at your desk, use the meeting room instead!
These tips are brought to you by Freebetsblog.com, we take no responsibility should you decide to follow them. Just enjoy the cricket and why not make it more fun by placing a bet on Ashes with our wide awake friends at Ladbrokes who are up all night updating the latest Ashes odds.

The first test match of the Ashes in Australia begins at the Gabba in Brisbane in the early hours of Thursday morning. England will be attempting to defend the Ashes by winning in Australia for the first time in 24 years. The last time England played for the Ashes in Australia it was a 5-0 whitewash suffered by the England team. Australia look to be the favourites in 5th test betting odds
August 17, 2009
The 5th and final test of the 2009 Ashes series starts on the 20th August and England fans all over the world will be sitting on a knife edge as they watch the stumps at the Oval hoping that the England team will show the resolve that started to appear towards the end of the 4th test defeat at Headingly and not the complete collapse that was also present at Headingly. However it is Australia that is pushing ahead in the betting stakes available from Victor Chandler.

Can England Win the Ashes in 4th Test at Headingley?
August 6, 2009
England are 3/1 with bookmakerVictor Chandler to win the 4th Ashes Test at Headingley, a result which would see England regain the Ashes for the first time since 2005.
With the series finely poised at 1-0 to England with only two tests to play, starting at Headingley on Friday 7th August, a win for England would clinch victory ahead of the final test at The Oval in a couple of weeks time. However, at the quoted odds of 3/1 it would appear that the bookies don’t rate England’s chances of winning with a test in hand!
Australia are a best price 13/8, also with Victor Chandler, to win which would see it go to The Oval with all to play for whilst the draw is the favoured outcome for the fourth test at 6/4 with Ladbrokes.
England are currently 5/6 (best odds) with Sportingbet to win the Ashes and that price could appear a great investment come Tuesday afternoon, whether you are collecting following an England win at Headingley or have the Draw and England win on your side going to the Oval. The Aussies have not looked as good in this series as they have in the past and England have a great opportunity to regain the Ashes four years on from those famous scenes in 2005.

England’s betting odds for the 3rd test of the Ashes
July 28, 2009
England are set to take on Australia at Edgbaston on Thursday in the third test of The Ashes series, the game will start at 11:00am and run to Monday 3rd August and can be watched live on Sky Sports and via the red button on Freeview as well as audio on Radio 5 live.
A win at Edgebaston for England would make them the firm favourites to win the Ashes with a 2-0 lead and it could be decided at the end of the 4th test at Headingly. However the Australian team will be regrouping and know that a win for them at Edgebaston could turn things around for them and put the odds in their favour.

Bookies Odds Can’t Split England and Australia in Ashes 1st Test Betting
July 7, 2009
The bookies odds ahead of the first test of the 2009 Ashes between England and Australia suggest just how close the Series could be. Depending on which bookmakers odds you look at, you can back either Australia or England to get off to a winning start at the same odds of 9/4. Sportingbet are offering the best price about the Aussies, whilst Totesport are the only firm offering 9/4 that England take an early advantage in this five test series.
The favoured outcome of the game, which is being played at Cardiff’s SWALEC Stadium is the draw, which is best priced at 7/5 with any of Bet365, Paddy Power or Boylesports, however, with the weather forecasted to be good for the next five days, this game has a great chance of finishing in a positive result for either side, with the Cardiff wicket expected to suit swing ballers, a department which the Aussie’s appear to be lacking in, giving England a chance of going 1-0 up in the series – Ashes Series Betting.
