Pakistan vs England Betting – Ian Bell And Imran Farhat Refund Offer

January 24, 2012

England’s first match since becoming the Number One test team in the world ended in disaster. Following impressive wins over Australia, Sri Lanka and India in 2011, England were expected to push on and start 2012 with a bang. In contrast they were slammed back down to earth by Pakistan who thrashed them by 10 wickets in Dubai last week. England now have the chance to bounce back and prove themselves in the second test in Abu Dhabi. Pakistan start as the 5/2 favourites, while England have been handed odds of 9/4, with a draw available at evens. If Imran Farhat (Pakistan) or Ian Bell (England) are Top Batsmen for their side, Betfred will refund all losing bets on their side’s Top Batsman market.

England struggled with the conditions in the first test, with their usually consistent top order having an absolute shocker. They will be determined to get back to their free-scoring ways this week and prove that the first test was just a mere blip. Jonathan Trott has been installed as the 7/2 favourite to be England’s Top Batsman in the first innings, while Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss have both been priced at 4/1. Kevin Pietersen can be backed at 9/2, with Ian Bell available at 11/2. Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez and Younis Khan have both been handed odds of 7/2 to finish as the Top Pakistan Batsman.

Graeme Swann is the 7/4 favourite to finish as England’s Top Bowler (1st Innings), with Stuart Broad available at 11/4 and James Anderson at 3/1. Saeed Ajmal, who ruthlessly tore apart England in the first innings last week, is priced at 13/8 to be Pakistan’s Top Bowler, while Umar Gul, who took four wickets in the second innings, has odds of 11/4.

England Favourites To Beat Pakistan In Test Series Betting

January 11, 2012

England return to action this month with a three match Test Series against Pakistan, which due to security fears is being played in the United Arab Emirates. Andrew Strauss and co kick-off the Series on Tuesday 17th January in Dubai, with the second encounter is scheduled for Wednesday 25th January in Abu Dhabi, and the third and final match back in Dubai on Friday 3rd February 2012.

It will be the first time the two sides have met since the infamous spot-fixing scandal in the summer of 2010. Three Pakistan players – Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir – have since been banned and prosecuted for the role they played. Pakistan will be desperate to put that controversy behind them and prove they have what it takes to beat England fair and square, while England, who won that Series 3-1, willl be gunning for another convincing win to prove their dominance at the top of the rankings.

England became the number one test side in the world last year after they walloped Australia Down Under, then edged past Sri Lanka, before thrashing India to confirm their place at the top of the rankings. Pakistan have similarly been in impressive form and haven’t tasted defeat since losing to England. The Three Lions have been installed as the 13/8 favourites with Paddy Power to get off to a cracking start and win the first test, while Pakistan are priced at 5/2, with a draw available at 7/5. England are also the evens favourites to win the series, while both a Pakistan win and a draw can be found at 12/5.

England are currently a very strong outfit, with free-scoring batsmen and a dangerous bowling attack. Both Jonathan Trott and Alastair Cook can be backed at 7/2 to be the Top England Series Runscorer, while captain Andrew Strauss, who needs to find his form again, is available at 9/2, alongside Kevin Pietersen. Ian Bill has been handed odds of 5/1, with Eoin Morgan priced at 10/1. The surface may favour spin bowler Graeme Swann who is the 2/1 favourite to finish as the Top England Series Wicket Taker. Fast bowler Jimmy Anderson is available at 3/1, while Stuart Broad is at 7/2 and Chris Tremlett given odds of 9/2.

As always England will be spurred on by the support of the vocal Barmy Army as they battle not only Pakistan but the scorching temperatures. Paddy Power have England available at 10/1 to whitewash Pakistan 3-0, while a more realistic option could be a 2-1 win at 8/1 or 2-0 at 9/2. Meanwhile, Pakistan can be backed at 12/1 to win 2-1, with a 1-1 draw available at 7/2.

India v England ODI Betting

October 13, 2011

England return to action on Friday 14th October for the first of five One Day Internationals against India. England, of course, recently thumped the Indians on home turf but they face an altogether different challenge away in India. India will be gunning for revenge following their embarrassing 3-0 defeat in England and bookmakers Betfred have priced them as the 4/6 favourites with England available at 6/5.

The first match gets underway in Hyderbad with India the narrow 4/5 favourites to get off to a winning start. England have been handed odds of 1/1 as they look to carry on from where they left off the last time the teams met. ECB Cricketer of the Year Jonathan Trott is the 10/3 favourite in the Top England Batsman betting for the first encounter. If England can produce the form they did during the summer then they will certainly be the team to beat. Captain Alastair Cook and Trott have both been priced at 3/1 in the Top England Series Batsman betting market, while Ian Bell could be a tempting bet at 5/1. Spinner Graeme Swann is the 9/4 favourite to finish as the Top England Series Bowler, with Tim Bresnan handed odds of 7/2.

England v India Fourth Test Betting With Betfred

August 17, 2011

With the series already wrapped up England will be looking to make it a whitewash in the fourth and final Test against India at The Oval on Thursday 18th August. England have been unplayable this series and as a result of their performances they have propelled themselves to the ICC No.1 Test team and have been touted as one of the best England teams ever. The talent of the team is unquestionable but its the team spirit, self-belief and strong morale which has really shone through in the last couple of weeks.

England won the first test by 196 runs, the second by 319 runs and the third by an innings and 242 runs. If the pattern continues then India are in for yet another hiding. Following his stunning 296 in the Third Test Alastair Cook has been installed as the 7/2 joint favourite to finish as England’s Top Batsman. Kevin Pietersen is also priced at 7/2 while captain Andrew Strauss is available at 4/1. Place a bet on the first innings Top Batsman and if your selection scores a century but is not the Top Batsman then Betfred will refund your losing stake. Due to his consistency in the Series Pietersen is the odds on 4/6 favourite to finish as the England Series Top Batsman, with Cook at 11/8 and the in-form Bell handed odds of 10/1.

India will be looking to restore some pride after a poor Test Series so far as they try to avoid a humiliating 4-0 whitewash. The team possesses a wealth of talent but for whatever reason they just haven’t clicked this Series. Granted, this is partly due to England’s ruthless bowling attack and destructive batting but it appears that the visitors preparation was all wrong and they simply didn’t expect to be up against such a ferocious team. Star player Sachin Tendulkar is still searching for that elusive 100th hundred and is priced at 7/2 to finish as India’s Top Batsman, with Rahul Dravid the 3/1 favourite and Virender Sehwag priced at 4/1.

England Overwhelming Favourites To Win India Test Series

August 3, 2011

Cricket greats such as Nasser Hussain have described the current England Test team as the best he’s ever seen following their emphatic Second Test match victory over India. England’s batsman and bowlers put on an exceptional display as they dismantled India in crushing fashion. England now just need one more win in the four-match Test Series to propel them above India to the status of ICC World Number One Test Team. Andrew Strauss and co can achieve this fantastic feat with a victory against India in their Third Test match at Edgbaston, which begins on Wednesday 14th August.

Boylesports have England as the heavy 11/10 favourites to win the Third Test match, while India are priced at 7/2, with a draw 13/8. Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and captain Andrew Strauss are all available at odds of 4/1 to finish the Third Test as England’s Top Batsman. However, we would recommend a punt on the in-form Ian Bell at 5/1 following his dazzling 159 at Trent Bridge.

With odds of 7/2 Tim Bresnan, who grabbed his first five wicket haul in Test cricket in the Second Test, looks a good bet to finish as England’s Top Bowler at Edgbaston. James Anderson and the electric Stuart Broad can be found at 9/4, with Graeme Swann handed odds of 7/2.

If England continuing to improve at this rapid rate then they certainly can be defined as one of the greatest England teams of all time. Not only have they got a much feared batting line-up and ferocious bowling attack but, they have an exciting and hugely talented all-rounder in Stuart Broad, who is now establishing himself as one of the best in the world. England to win the Test Series 4-0 definitely looks tempting at 11/4, while Matt Prior is a surprise 4/1 to finish the Test Series as England’s Top Batsman.

England v India – Test Match Series Betting

July 11, 2011

After edging past Sri Lanka in a thrilling ODI decider at Old Trafford on Saturday, England will now turn their attention to their eagerly anticipated four match Test Series with India. A win for England will be a big statement and a massive step towards becoming the No1 Test side in the world, which is currently held by India. William Hill have England as the marginal 5/4 favourites to win the Test Series, while India are priced at 7/4 and a draw is 5/2.

England have been in excellent form in this form of the game throughout the past couple of years and how they fare against India will be a real indicator of just how far they have come. Andrew Strauss and co emphatically retained the Ashes in Australia earlier this year and recently defeated Sri-Lanka 1-0 in the three match Test Series. With home advantage England will be confident they can pull off a win against India, but they know it will be very touch. Alastair Cook has been in magnificent form in Test cricket and he’ll be looking to continue that into the first match on 21st July. However, captain Strauss has struggled with the bat recently, something he’ll be working extremely hard at to improve before the First Test gets underway.

India are still buzzing from winning the 50-over Cricket World Cup on home soil back in April and have just beaten the West Indies 1-0 in the three match Test Series in the Caribbean. For their trip to England they welcome back Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, two of the most prolific and feared batsman in world cricket. To add spice to an already intriguing series, this will be Tendulkar’s last tour of England, and he’ll no doubt be looking to go off with a bang.

The four match Test Series commences on the 21st July at Lords. William Hill make England the 15/8 favourites to start off with a win at the home of cricket, while India are available at 5/2 to come away with a win in the First Test, and a draw is 6/5.

The teams then travel to Trent Bridge in Nottingham (29th July – 2nd August), followed by Edgbaston in Birmingham from 10th – 14th August. The final, and potentially deciding, test match will be played at the Oval from 18th-22nd August. The Test Series is definitely going to live up to the hype and there is little to chose between the two teams, both of whom are in cracking form. With odds of 5/1 England look good to clinch the series 2-1.

ODI Betting – England Win Sets Up Decider

July 7, 2011

England responded in classy fashion on Wednesday as they recovered from back-to-back defeats to thump Sri Lanka by 10 wickets and level the ODI series 2-2. The win thus sets up a pulsating decider at Old Trafford on Saturday, with England brimming with confidence.

England’s bowlers were on fine form as they made light work of Sri Lanka, bowling them all out for a measly 171. James Anderson impressed with figures of 3-24, with Jade Dernbach also on song finishing with 3-38, while Tim Bresnan and Stuart Broad collected two wickets each.

For the second match in succession captain Alastair Cook led by example as he and fellow opening batsman Craig Kieswetter rapidly closed down the 171 target. The dynamic duo were on scintillating form, with Cook ending on 95 not out and Kieswetter on 72 not out as they swept away all deliveries before them. Betfred have priced cook at 7/2 to finish the Fifth ODI match as England’s Top Batsman, while Kieswetter is a good shout at 4/1, as is Jonathan Trott.

England will now go into the fifth and final ODI international in high spirits and fully confident they can put on a repeat performance and romp to victory.
