Can Arsenal come from behind to beat Porto tonight in the Champions League match

March 9, 2010

Arsenal will be going into tonight’s Champions League home fixture against Porto without their captain Cesc Fabregas after he suffered a hamstring injury during the Barclays Premiership 3-1 win against Burnley and it is currently unknown how long he will be out of action, hopefully not as long as last year when the same injury kept him sidelined for three weeks in December.

This is bound to be a blow for Arsene Wenger’s side who still need to overcome a 2-1 first-leg defeat to carry on in the competition, there is good news that Sol Campbell is due to come back into the squad and the captains band will be handed to goalkeeper Manuel Almunia. The Gunners have welcomed Porto to the Emirateson two previous occasions, scoring six goals in the process and keeping two clean sheets, so the odds for winning are clearly in Arsenal’s favour.

One of the biggest UK bookies William Hill are offering a free bet offer on this match. If you place a bet for £20 or more on the double result market in this game they will give you a free £10 bet to use on the in play Manchester United v AC Milan match on Wednesday night.

Post Christmas Coca Cola Championship betting from Victor Chandler

December 28, 2009

It is a midlands derby in the Coca Cola Championship as two of last years relegation battlers meet up with each other. It is a different story for Forest this year as they look set to be heading for automatic promotion or at least a play off place as they are currently third in the table. Coventry however are treading on familiar ground as they struggle around the bottom of the Championship currently in 16th place, a 3 game unbeaten run however has seen them jump up from the bottom where they were languishing for most of the run up to Christmas.

Nottingham Forest v Coventry match odds

  • 8/15 – Nottingham Forest win
  • 11/4 – Draw
  • 11/2 – Coventry win

The two teams have met 80 times in the league, Forest have won 39 of those encounters and Coventry a low 14 with a boring 27 games being drawn. Their last game with each other saw Forest beat City 1-0, the first time that Forest had beaten City in their last five encounters. If however Coventry beat Forest this season it will be the first local derby that City have won.
