Shanghai Masters Betting Special with Victor Chandler

October 11, 2011

The 2011 Shanghai Masters is now underway and Victor Chandler have a Gain Set and Match offer available where they will refund all losing match bets if your chosen player is beaten in a final set tie-break.

The man to watch this week is definitely Andy Murray who has been in blistering form during the last fortnight. The Scot won the Thailand Open which was followed by the Japan Open last week where he produced one of his best performances of the season to overcome Rafael Nadal 3-6 6-2 6-0, dropping only four points in the final set. That result will be a massive confidence boost for Murray, who often struggles against Nadal, and Victor Chandler have installed the 24-year-old as the 7/4 favourite.

Nadal can be found with odds of 15/8 but this is by no means a two-horse race with the likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tomas Berdych and Mardy Fish all in with a chance of making an impact in Shanghai. World No.1 Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer were forced to withdraw due to injury which gives other players a chance to shine and collect points ahead of the ATP World Tour Finals in London next month.

Shanghai Masters Odds

  • 7/4 – Andy Murray
  • 15/8 – Rafael Nadal
  • 11/1 – Tomas Berdych
  • 12/1 – Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
  • 16/1 – Mardy Fish
  • 22/1 – David Ferrer
  • 33/1 – David Nalbandian
  • 40/1 – Andy Roddick
  • 40/1 – Stanislas Wawrinka
  • 50/1 – Aleksander Dolgopolov

Novak Djokovic – 2012 Grand Slam Betting

September 13, 2011

Novak Djokovic has simply been in unstoppable form this year. On Monday night the Serb added the US Open to his Australian Open and Wimbledon crowns after he beat Rafael Nadal in a blockbuster clash in Flushing Meadows. Bookmakers Victor Chandler are already looking ahead to 2012 and have released a number of tempting Novak Djokovic Grand Slam bets.

Djokovic is priced at 33/1 to go one better then this year and win all four Grand Slams in 2012, an attractive offer considering the scintillating form he has been in. Winning all four Grand Slams inside one calendar year is a quite phenomenal achievement which has only ever been achieved by two players, Don Budge and Rod Laver, with Laver incredibly doing it twice: in 1962 and 1969. Djokovic is also available at 6/1 to repeat his achievement of 2011 and win three Grand Slams in 2012, while he is 2/1 to win two and 6/4 to win one.

The 24-year-old would love nothing more than to win the career Grand Slam by adding the French Open to his rapidly growing collection, with the Serb has been handed odds of 13/8 to win in Roland Garros. The next Grand Slam is the Australian Open in January 2012 and Djokovic is available at 6/4 to win what would be his third Australian Open title. He can also be found at 13/8 to win next year’s Wimbledon.

Next up for Djokovic is a Davis Cup semi-final against Argentina, starting on Friday 16th September. Serbia are the odds on 1/4 favourites to beat Argentina, while Argentina are available at 11/4 to win the tie. Serbia were the surprise 2010 Davis Cup winners and are the 5/4 to win again this time around.

Continental Europe the Slight Favourites In Seve Trophy Betting

September 8, 2011

The Seve Trophy takes on extra significance this year after the passing of the great golfer earlier back in May and following the announcement of the two teams we look set for a fantastic few days in Paris. The Seve Trophy has taken place since 2000 and sees a Continental European team take on a Great Britain and Ireland team in a slightly less competitive version of the Ryder Cup, the tournament was driven by Seve before his death with his passion for team golf the spark for the event which takes place in September every other year. As well as being a big tournament in its own right it offers the players a chance of playing team and match play golf as well as giving potential Ryder Cup players the experience of team competition which they would not otherwise get.

The continental European team do look slightly stronger on paper this year and are captained by French golfer Jean Van de Velde for the first time, they will be looking to their star names like Francesco Molinari, Thomas Bjorn and Miguel Angel Jimenez to lead from the front whilst they also have a nice mix of youngsters and potential 2012 Ryder Cup stars in their squad. Continental Europe are currently priced at 4/5 with VC Bet to lift the trophy for only the second time in the tournaments short history. The European side won the first edition of the Seve trophy back in 2000 but have failed to pick up the title since which is something that Jean Van de Velde will be eager to put right over the next few days in his homeland and they do look to have a strong team.

The GB and Ireland Team have eon the last five editions of the Seve Trophy and will be eager to make it number six, they won two years ago in Paris and Paul McGinley is back to captain the team for the second successive time. McGinley is very much seen as a future Ryder Cup Captain and this experience is sure to do his chances no harm at all, especially if he can record another comprehensive victory. It is fair to see the GB and Ireland team are missing a few star names but will have the services of Lee Westwood, Daren Clarke and Ian Poulter who will be expected to lead from the front with their Ryder Cup experience, if they all fire then they will be tough to beat and the GB and Ireland price of Evens with Victor Chandler will prove to be good value. The Seve Trophy may not have the kudos and prestige of something like the Ryder Cup but it proves valuable experience for the youngers players on tour whilst serving as a great memory for one of the great European golfers of all time.

England Face Tough Task To Win ODI Series Against Sri Lanka

July 5, 2011

Alastair Cook faces his first major test as captain after Sri Lanka crushed England for the second time in succession on Sunday by winning the third ODI by six wickets, to leave the hosts trailing 2-1 in the series. As a result the visitors are now the 1/3 favourites to win the series, while England are available at 9/4. Cook will now have to inspire his troops – who will no doubt still be reeling from their defeat – as a win on Wednesday at Trent Bridge is now a must if England are to recover and win the series.

Captain Cook led by example in Sunday’s match at Lord’s with a solid 119 runs off 143 balls. It’s just a shame that his team didn’t follow his lead. The match did much to highlight England’s frailties with the bat and their lack of impact players who can come on and win matches with a burst of rapid runs. Craig Kieswetter, Jonathan Trott and Eoin Morgan were out for a dismal 2, 3 and 4 respectively, and if it wasn’t for the 41 runs by Kevin Pietersen then England would have been utterly humiliated.

If England are to have any hope of reigniting their series then it is crucial that their batsman start performing at the same time. It is no use if one batsman has a successday day at the crease if all the others are struggling to reach double figures. Victor Chandler have Cook at 7/2 to finish the fourth series as England’s Top Batsman, while Trott and Pietersen are both available at 4/1, with Kieswetter at 5/1 and Morgan at 6/1. Similarly England’s bowlers must up the ante as they have been made to look distinctively average by Sri Lanka’s batsman in the last two ODI.

Despite their recent back-to-back defeats England are still the favourites to come away with a win on Wednesday, with short odds of 8/11 with Victor Chandler, with Sri Lanka are available at evens.

Novak Djokovic Early Favourite For US Open

July 4, 2011

Following his superb victory over Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon final on Sunday, Novak Djokovic has been installed as the early favourite for the US Open in August, with odds of 2/1 with the bookmakers Victor Chandler. Simply put, Djokovic has had a stunning 2011. Not only has he won two Grand Slams – Australian Open and Wimbledon – but the Serb has amassed a total of four ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles, and today, he has become the World No.1. Furthermore, he has only been defeated once in 2011 and has beaten Nadal, who is widely considered to be one of the best tennis players ever, a remarkable five times this year. Outstanding.

These achievements were unthinkable a year ago when Djokovic was in a similar position to the one Andy Murray is now – his talent was unquestionable but his execution and self-belief was not. However, a change in mentality has done wonders for the 24-year-old, propelling him to the pinnacle of the sport, and on current form it is going to take a monumental effort to knock him off.

Despite Djokovic’s dominance this year, the US Open is by no means guaranteed. Firstly, he has never won it, and secondly, Nadal and Roger Federer will be more determined than ever to get back to winning ways. As the defending champion and World No.2, Nadal will be his closest challenger for the trophy. After licking his Wimbledon wounds the Spaniard will be itching to get back on the court and claim his second Grand Slam of the year. It is not often that he is overshadowed, and he can be found with odds of 5/2 to win the US Open and get the spotlight firmly back on him.

With odds of 4/1 Federer looks good value. His best days may be behind him but he is still a force in the men’s game, and let’s not forget that he is a five-time winner at Flushing Meadows. If Federer fails to win the last remaining Grand Slam of 2011 then it will be the first time in a mammoth nine years that he has failed to win one of the major tournaments in a calendar year, which we are sure will act as a major motivator come the end of August.

Although his semi-final defeat last week to his nemesis Nadal will hurt, Andy Murray can take confidence from his excellent performances in Grand Slam’s this year. The Scot has finished as runner-up to Djokovic in the Australian Open, and has reached the last four at both the French Open and Wimbledon, falling victim to Nadal on both ocassions. He now needs to draw inspiration from what Djokovic has achieved so far this year, in order to spur him on to win his first Grand Slam. Murray is available at 15/2 to win the US Open, although his time is more likely to come next year.

After his exploits at Wimbledon, the young Australian sensation Bernard Tomic is an outside bet at 100/1. The 18-year-old announced himself on the world stage at The All England Club last week with big wins over Robin Soderling and Xavier Malisse, before taking Djokovic to four sets in the last eight. Similarly, Mardy Fish can be found with long odds of 100/1. The American can reflect on a successful Wimbledon, after he tested Nadal during their quarter-final match, which will give him confidence going into the US Open.

2011 US Open Outright Winner Odds

  • 2/1 – Novak Djokovic
  • 5/2 – Rafael Nadal
  • 4/1 – Roger Federer
  • 15/2 – Andy Murray
  • 15/2 – Juan Martin Del Potro
  • 33/1 – Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
  • 40/1 – Robin Soderling
  • 50/1 – Andy Roddick
  • 50/1 – Tomas Berdych
  • 66/1 – Milos Raonic
  • 80/1 – David Nalbandian
  • 80/1 – Marin Cilic
  • 100/1 – Mardy Fish
  • 100/1 – Bernard Tomic

British Grand Prix Betting Points Towards Another Vettel Success

July 4, 2011

The Formula 1 season has been dominated so far by the Red Bull Team and in particular Sebastian Vettel and the German heads to Silverstone this weekend as the overwhelming favourite to claim yet another success and extend his lead at the top of the Drivers Standings. Vettel is the defending World Champion and he looks better than ever this season having won six of the eight races so far, he looks a sure thing to reclaim his title this season and the bookmakers believe he will go one step closer to that at Silverstone this weekend.

Vettel won a processional race at Valencia at the last Grand Prix and Victor Chandler believe it could be a similar outcome at the British Grand Prix, the online bookies have priced the German as a 4/6 shot to claim the win and at the moment it is hard to argue with that assessment. The Red Bull Team have had the pace all season and there is no reason to believe that will be any different at the British Grand Prix, another win for him will all but seal the title with only nine races of the season gone.

The home fans will be  hoping that Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button can have a successful weekend in their McLaren cars but they have shown little sign of matching the pace of the Red Bull team so far this season. Button won a brilliant GP in Canada recently and punters can get a price of 10/1 with VCBet while teammate Hamilton is shorter at 4/1 with the same bookmaker. However, both are realistic about their chances of matching Vettel this weekend and an each-way wager on one of the two may prove to be the more value bet for punters. The British Grand Prix is always one of the highlights of the F1 season and this years race at Silverstone is looking like a potentially classic race as Vettel looks to continue his dominance of the 2011 season.

Jenson Button 17/2 In European Grand Prix Betting

June 24, 2011

Jenson Button sparked the 2011 Formula One season into life after he won a pulsating race at the Canada Grand Prix two weeks ago. The Brit had a blistering finish, catching up with the race leader Sebastian Vettel with only a few laps remaining, before forcing the young German into a rare mistake on the final lap to snatch a dramatic victory. Although Vettel still leads the overall standings by quite some margin, 60 points to be exact, Button’s win will give both himself and the other top drivers a glimmer of hope in an otherwise one sided season to date.

At 13:00 BST on Sunday 26th June the drivers will be revving up their engines as they get ready to roar into action in Valencia for the European Grand Prix. On Friday it was Mark Webber who was the quickest in the first practice. The Australian has been totally and utterly eclipsed by the exploits of his talented team mate Vettel so far, meaning he will be desperate to get a good starting place on the grid in order to have a chance of winning his first race of the season. The 34–year-old can be found at 25/1 with William Hill to win Pole Position, record the Fastest Lap and finish as the Race Winner.

The Valencia street circuit may not be as glamourous as Monaco or as challenging as Montreal but it does offer some good overtaking opportunities which will make it an exciting race. Vettel will once again head into the race as the favourite, with odds of 23/20. Lewis Hamilton will be eager to put his recent controversies behind him and focus on getting his season back on track and is 7/2 to win on Sunday. At 17/2 Hamilton’s McLaren team mate Button looks good value after his exploits in Montreal, while Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso is available at 9/2 to win his first race of 2011.

England U21 v Czech Republic U21 Match Odds

June 16, 2011

England Under 21s face a crunch clash against the Czech Republic on Sunday 19th June after a frustrating goalless draw with Ukraine left them third in Group B with just two points. Stuart Pearce’s men know only a win will see them progress through to the semi-finals. As a result the Three Lions have had their odds lengthened from 7/2 to 7/1 with Victor Chandler to win the tournament in Denmark, while Spain remain the odds-on 8/13 outright favourites.

England were widely expected to be in a stronger position after their first two games, but instead they face a pivotal final Group B match on Sunday against the Czech Republic, which they must win to avoid an early flight home. The Czech side narrowly lost to Spain on Wednesday night but remain a single point above England due to their opening win against the Ukraine. England face a technically gifted team who like to keep possession and pass the ball the ball, something that they themselves have failed to do so far. Pearce’s men have faced criticism for their tactics and for not holding onto the ball, instead seemingly preferring the long ball approach. Pearce will need to conjure up a more effective strategy if his young guns are to have any hope of reaching the latter stages of the competition.

Despite their current position, Victor Chandler have England as the evens favourites to win the match, with a Czech win priced at 23/10 and a draw also available at 23/10. We predict a close, tense affair with only one goal separating the two sides, with England looking good at 6/1 for a 1-0 win or 15/2 to clinch it 2-1.

Match Odds:

Evens – England

23/10 – Czech Republic

23/10 – Draw

First Goal Scorer Odds:

17/4 – Daniel Sturridge

19/4 – Danny Welbeck

13/2 – Nathan Delfouneso

13/2 – Connor Wickham

7/1 – Scott Sinclair

David Haye v Wladimir Klitschko Odds: Fascinating World Heavyweight Boxing Betting

June 16, 2011

We now juts a few short weeks away from the biggest World Heavyweight title fight in recent times with David Haye heading over to Germany to face Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg on July 2nd. The massive unification bout has been on the cards for some time now but finally the talking is over and both men will need to walk the walk if they are to come through what is potentially the toughest fight of both fighters career. Haye of course is the WBA Champion while Wladimir Klitschko currently holds three versions of the World title, the winner of the fight will be able to call themselves the best Heavyweight in the world and the betting markets for the bout are looking fascinating.

There is no doubt that Klitschko is the warm favourite to win the fight by any method with experience, height and discipline on his side, the Ukranian fighter has racked up close to 60 fights and he can be backed at 4/7 with Victor Chandler to beat Haye. It does have to be said though that Klitschko is not the most exciting fighter in the world and much of that is down to the fact he is perceived to have a glass chin after being being knocked down a number of times during his career. Klitschko will try to keep Haye at distance with his excellent jab and that means that the 7/2 about him winning on points with VC Bet looks tempting and could prove plenty of value for punters.

Many believe that David Haye has the superior speed and punch power against Klitschko and that means the Hayemaker is a force to be reckoned with despite being the underdog, he has a massive support base in the UK and they will be quick to back him at 11/8 with VC Bet.com to win the fight. Haye will need to create angles to get past the jab of Klitschko and if he can then he will fancy his chances of knocking out the Ukrainian, punters wanting to back Haye to win by TKO or DQ can get a price of 15/8 with Victor Chandler and that could prove a nice piece of value.

David Haye v Wladimir Klitschko Odds with Victor Chandler

  • 4/7 – Wladimir Klitschko
  • 11/8 – David Haye
  • 33/1 – Draw

Method Of Victory Odds

  • 13/10 – Klitschko by TKO or DQ
  • 15/8 – Haye by TKO or DQ

Victor Chandler Wimbledon Betting Special

June 15, 2011

Rain delays, Pimm’s, Henman Hill and strawberries and cream. Yes you’ve guessed it, Wimbledon begins next week on Monday 20th June and to celebrate Victor Chandler have a fantastic tennis betting special available. The bookmakers are so confident that neither our own Andy Murray or Danish superstar Caroline Wozniacki will win their respective singles titles that they will refund all your losing tournament Outright Bets as a Free Bet. So if Murray wins Wimbledon then all your Men’s outright bets will be refunded and similarly if Wozniacki wins then all your Women’s outright bets will be refunded.

Click here for the latest Wimbledon Odds

Murray has been seeded fourth for Wimbledon, and after his brilliant win at Queen’s Club last Sunday the expectation for him to win this year’s Wimbledon will shortly be reaching fever pitch. The Scot has an impressive record in 2011 Grand Slams having finished second to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open and reaching the semi-finals at the French Open just under two weeks ago. Murray has reached the semi-finals in his previous two appearances at Wimbledon but, if he is going to reach the final for the first time he will most likely have to get past the World No.1 and defending champion Rafa Nadal, with either the six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer or the in-form Novak Djokovic awaiting him in the final.

It is common knowledge that Caroline Wozniacki has yet to win a Grand Slam. After a good start to 2011 – she has won five titles – the Women’s World No.1 will be feeling confident she can break this duck and lift her first Grand Slam trophy in a couple of weeks time. However, she doesn’t have the best of records at the All England Lawn Tennis Club – she is yet to progress past the fourth round – and with the Williams sisters back in the draw and Maria Sharapova back on song, the Dane’s chances look slim.

The draw for this year’s Wimbledon will take place on Friday 17th June.
