European golfers have ruled the roost in the Major Championships over the past 18 months with a number of top class young players making the breakthrough to the very top of the game and there is a competitive market on offer for the next European to win a Major. The talk of the tour at the moment continues to surround Rory McIlroy who was a brilliant winner of the US Open back in June, and he is the player that Sportingbet expect to to continue that trend with the next major now on the horizon and an army of European players heading across the pond to the USPGA.

As well as McIlroy we have seen Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Martin Kaymer claim Majors for Europe over the past 18 months and there are a number of other players queuing up to claim a Major title as soon as possible. Kaymer is the defending Champion at the USPGA Championships and with that one the next Major on the horizon his price of 8/1 with Sportingbet to be the next European to win a Major could prove excellent value. The German has been a real star of the game over the past 18 months and he has the game to win multiple Majors during his career and it would be no surprise to see him continue that form starting at the upcoming USPGA in Atlanta.

As well as the players already with a Major to their name it is worth considering one of Europeans without a Major win on their CV in this market with plenty of top class players on the brink of making the big breakthrough. Lee Westwood seems to have been trying to win a Major for years now and he looks set to continue to be a Major threat over the next year or two making him one to watch in this market. Westwood can be backed at 9/2 with Sportingbet.com to be the next Major winner from Europe, he has gone close at all the big tournaments in recent times and will be desperate to end that drought as soon as possible. Such is the strength and depth in Europe at the moment that there are a number of players to consider here, there are the more experienced names as well as the young and upcoming names with value to be found across the board for shrewd punters.

It is always good news when a major sporting event takes place as the bookmakers tend to put out quite a few offers and this weekends Euro 2012 fixtures are no different, there is quite a full schedule of games and the offers cover the majority of them.

The first offer we have comes from Paddy Power who are giving a cash back offer on the Ireland v Russia game, if Ireland’s Aiden McGeady (who plays in Russia for Spartak Moscow) scores anytime during the game then Paddypower will refund all of the losing first and last goal scorer bets as well as correct score and also scorecast singles that have been placed on the match. He is currently at odds of 7/2 to score at anytime during the game and 9/1 to score the first or last goal.

Click here to place your Euro 2012 bet and claim your free bet from Paddy Power

The second offer on the Euro 2012 tournament comes from Boylesports who will refund all losing live bets made on the game if there is a goal scored during injury time, the money will be credited back to your account for you to use as a free bet. This offer is for the following games on Friday; Ireland v Russia, Czech Republic v Scotland, Wales v Bulgaria, Northern Ireland v Italy, Germany v Turkey, Greece v Latvia, Spain v Lithuania and on Saturday France v Romania.

Another cash back offer on the game comes again from Boylesports in a similar offer to that of Paddy Power they will refund all losing bets on the first and last goal scorer market if Ireland’s Richard Dunne scores a goal at anytime during the match

Click here to place your European Championship bet with Boylesports

Another cash back offer comes from internet bookmakers Sporting Bet who will help reduce the pain of a late goal spoiling your betting. They will refund your stake if bet changes from a winning to a losing coupon during the last 5 minutes (plus stoppage time) of any of the Euro 2012 qualifiers running from the 8th – 12th October.

The race is ran on the New Course at Cheltenham and it is over a distance of three miles and two furlongs with twenty two fences to be jumped along the way. Of all the races being ran this year it is the most prestigious having past winners of the calibre of Arkle and Golden Miller.

The Cheltenham Gold Cup is one on the most eagerly awaited races that feature in the Cheltenham Festival by punters, jockeys and of course the trainers. There is a great deal of money at stake for winner who will be looking to get his share of the £475,000 prize fund that is on offer.

Past winners Kauto Star and Denman will be both hoping to regain the title, Kauto Star for the third time (second time in succession) and Denman a second win, either way trainer Paul Nicholls will be a happy man if they come in the top 3.

The Fred Winter Hurdle is the penultimate race of the second day of racing at the Cheltenham Festival, it is a grade 3 National Hunt hurdle that is ran on the Old Course and it covers a distance of 2 miles and 110 yards and features 8 hurdles. The going for the race tomorrow looks like it will be good to soft.

The David Pipe trained Notus De La Tour looks like he could make his mark in the race, current odds quoted by Ladbrokes place it as favourite to win with odds of 5/1. The second favourite according to Paddy Power is closed behind at odds of 6/1 the Paul Nicholls trained Sanctuaire, our tip however goes to outsider Cross Appeal trained by Noel Meade at odds of 16/1 from Ladbrokes.

The odds are very tight on who will be the fifth celebrity to be eliminated out of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, the battle looks set to be between Coronation Street’s Craig Kelly and the ex wife of Rolling Stone member Ronnie Wood, Jo Wood to be booted off. We have already had to say goodbye to Martina Hingis, Richard Dunwoody, Rav Wilding and last week OXO lady Lynda Bellingham,

The remaining 12 contestants know that as each week passes the weaker dancers will be removed by the public votes (and damning judges critiques) and they will have to improve week on week and not reply on their professional dancer to carry them! Of all the contestants Phil Tufnel will be looking to achieve the Reality TV double if he can win this competition having won I’m a Celebrity get me out of here in 2003.

It’s the most prestigious race in the European Flat Racing calendar on Sunday 4th October at Longchamp Racecourse, Paris as the best thoroughbreds around line up for the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. With a prize fund of over £2.2 million it is no surprise that ‘The Arc’ has become the number one race of the year for middle distance runners (1mile 4 furlongs) and some of the best known names in Flat Racing history have won this Group One.

The 2009 running of the Arc De Triomph has the potential to be more special than ever before as the top rated horse of the year, Sea the Stars, takes his place in the field in an attempt to make it six Group One victories for the season and as such te John Oxx trained Colt is a red hot 3/4 favourite for the race (best price anywhere at Sportingbet).

Following his wins in the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby, Coral Eclipse, Juddmonte International Stakes, and Irish Champion Stakes, Sea the Stars is well on track to become one of the greatest Racehorses of all time. It is already safe to say that he has surpassed the achievements of Nashwan, the last dual Guineas and Derby winner in 1989 and a win on Sunday would see him held in higher regard than the 1986 Arc winner, Dancing Brave. It could be that Racing fans are witnessing the greatest of them all in Sea the Stars and a win at Longchamp would firmly put him as one of the all time greats.

Arc Weekend Special: Exclusive £200 Free Bet when you Join Sportingbet this Weekend

His form in 2009 has been nothing short of breathtaking and he is by far the best horse in the Arc field and he would only need to repeat what he has already done so far this season to win and despite his short price he does look a good thing and having a bet will allow people to boast in years to come that they backed Sea the Stars when he won the Arc.

Other runners in the race which are worthy of a mention inlcude Fame and Glory, who has finished second behind Sea the Stars on two occasions already this season and is a valid each way shout or betting without Sea the Stars market. Vision D’Etat and Cavalryman represent the best of the French hopefuls and both have shown glimpses of top class form to put them in with a shout and Stacelita fly the flag for the Fillies and bids to become only the second Filly to win the Arc in 20 years following Zarkarva’s victory in the race last year.
