Liverpool v Chelsea Odds – Ladbrokes Money Back Special
May 8, 2012
Liverpool v Chelsea – Tuesday 8th May (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)
Liverpool and Chelsea meet for the second time in four days tonight, following their FA Cup Final clash on Saturday. Chelsea clinched their fourth FA Cup in six years after narrowly beating Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley but the Reds will be gunning for revenge at Anfield tonight as they look to claim their third win against their opponents this season. Ladbrokes have priced Liverpool as the 13/10 favourites, while Chelsea can be backed at 2/1, with a draw at 12/5.
Sixth-placed Chelsea still hold hopes of a top four finish and can still mathematically finish third. They are currently in sixth place, six points adrift of third-placed Arsenal and five behind Tottenham who are one point ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle. Chelsea simply have to win tonight to stand any chance of finishing in the Champions League spots and will look to take advantage of Liverpool’s wobbly form at Anfield. The Reds have only won one of their last eight league matches at home, losing their last two to Fulham and West Brom.
Chelsea are available at 7/1 to condemn Liverpool to their third consecutive 1-0 defeat at Anfield, with a 2-1 win available at 9/1. If Chelsea do in fact win 2-1 then Ladbrokes will refund losing single first goalscorer bets, up to £100. Meanwhile, Liverpool are priced at 7/1 to win 2-1, as they did earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge. A 1-0 home win can also be found at 7/1, with a 1-1 draw available at 11/2.
Liverpool’s Luis Suarez tops the first goalscorer market with odds of 5/1, with Andy Carroll and Steve Gerrard at 7/1. Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is well worth a bet at 11/2, while Ramires, who opened the scoring in the final, can be backed at 10/1.

Camelot Trimmed In 2012 Epsom Derby Betting After Guineas Glory
May 8, 2012
We are now just a matter of weeks away from the derby at Epsom and in the form of Camelot we have a warm favourite for one of he most famous races in the world. The Aidan O’Brien horse produced a very taking performance at Newmarket recently when he scythed through the field to win the 200 Guineas by a neck and following that win Camelot will be aimed towards the derby.
At this stage the Epsom Derby Betting looks to be a one horse race with Camelot expected to thrive over the extra distance on offer with Betfred making him the warm 5/4 favourite to take the win. The team at Ballydoyle clearly think plenty of the horse and he proved he had the stomach for a fight at Newmarket when he held off the game French Fifteen to win the the race by a neck after being held up up at the back during the early stages.
Punters looking for value outside of Camelot in the Derby Betting may struggle at this stage although one who looks to be a possible contender is the exciting Noble Mission who was another winner at Newmarket recently. The Henry Cecil horse is a full brother to the great Frankel and his win at the Guineas meeting has seen his Derby priced slashed, Noble Mission can currently be backed at 14/1 with Betfred to claim the glory on the Epsom Downs which may prove to be a big price if his improvement continues.

FA Cup Final Betting – Liverpool v Chelsea Special
May 3, 2012
Liverpool v Chelsea – Saturday, May 5th (ITV 1 & ESPN, 17:15)
Liverpool and Chelsea lock horns on Saturday at Wembley Stadium for the chance to win the prestigious FA Cup. Chelsea are gunning for their fourth FA Cup in just six years, while Liverpool are attempting to add the famous trophy to the Carling Cup they won back in February. Chelsea are the 7/5 favourites to win the match in 90 minutes and the odds-on 4/6 favourites to lift the FA Cup. Meanwhile Liverpool are available at 2/1 to win in 90 minutes and at evens to claim their second domestic cup of the season. If Luis Suarez scores, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.
In contrast to their dismal league campaign Liverpool have excelled in the domestic cup competitions. In February they won their first trophy since the return of Kenny Dalglish when they edged out Cardiff on penalties to get their hands on the Carling Cup. They have been very impressive in the FA Cup so far, dispensing of fierce rivals Man Utd and Everton, knocking out Stoke and thrashing Brighton and Oldham.
Chelsea’s interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has rejuvenated the club since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas. He is eager to claim the job full time and will boost his chances of doing so if he can mastermind a win on Saturday. Chelsea negotiated their way to Wembley after beating Portsmouth, QPR, Birmingham in a replay, Leicester, and then thrashing Tottenham 5-1 in their last-four encounter. Chelsea can be backed at 17/2 to win 2-1 in 90 minutes, while a narrow 1-0 win is available at 7/1. Liverpool can be found at 9/1 to win 2-1 in 90 minutes, with a 1-1 draw priced at 5/1.
Liverpool have won the last four meetings between the two sides, with two of those victories coming at Stamford Bridge this season. They last met in the competition back in 2006 with Liverpool claiming a 2-1 win in their semi-final clash, but in total Chelsea edge it having won five of the nine FA Cup meetings. The Blues also came out on top in the 2005 League Cup final when they won a thrilling match 3-2.
Luis Suarez and Didier Drogba will be the main threats for each team and both players can be found at 11/2 to score the opening goal. Drogba has scored seven goals in seven games at Wembley and also has three goals in FA Cup finals. Elsewhere Fernando Torres is priced at 13/2 to score the first goal of the game and rub salt into the wounds of his former club, while Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge are all available at 15/2. Craig Bellamy, Andy Carroll and Steven Gerrard are all a tempting bet at 8/1.

Georgia Salpa The Early Favourite In 2013 Sexiest Women In The World Betting
May 3, 2012
This week has seen Tulisa crowned the worlds sexiest woman for 2012 but already the bookmakers are turning their attention towards next year with Paddy Power releasing an interesting market for the 2013 FHM award. At the moment the early front runner for the glamorous gong is Irish model Georgia Salpa who after appearing in Celebrity Big Brother recently has seen her star rise in the UK.
Salpa made it all the way to number five in the 2012 list of the sexiest women in the world and according to the bookmakers there is every chance she could rise to the top of the rankings in 12 months time. Paddy Power have been keeping a close eye on the Irish-Greek model over recent days and they rate her 6/1 favourite at this early stage to collect the most votes in 2013 from readers of FHM Magazine.
Punters looking for more value further down the betting may want to have a closer look at American model Kate Upton who has become a lads mag favourite over the past 12 months and is sure to continue that rise in the coming year. Upton came in at 23rd on the 2012 list and punters wanting to back her to be the sexiest woman on the planet in 2013 can get a good looking price of 10/1 with Paddy Power.com. Betting on this market can of course be hazardous at this early stage which has been highlighted this year by Tulisa who was a shock winner of the award after a late surge in votes.

Bolton v Tottenham Betting – Paddy Power Penalty Special
May 2, 2012
Bolton v Tottenham – Wednesday, May 2nd (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)
Bolton head into the match looking to boost their survival hopes by claiming a valuable three points that would lift them out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile Spurs crave a win to enhance their chances of a top four finish. Spurs are priced as the odds-on 10/11 favourites, while Bolton have been handed odds of 3/1, with a draw available at 5/2. If there is a penalty scored in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.
Bolton have a poor record against the top-six teams this season, losing 10 of their 11 encounters. However, they have shown their fighting spirit in their last three matches, with a victory away to relegation-rivals Aston Villa and hard-fought draws against Sunderland and Swansea. A point will be enough to leapfrog QPR into 17th but they will be gunning for a win that would move them three points clear of the bottom three.
Spurs are currently in a battle for fourth spot with Newcastle and Chelsea (who play each other tonight). A few months ago a Spurs win would have been a formality but they have not only failed to win any of their last six league away games but they also have a shocking record at the Reebok Stadium, failing to win in their last 11 league visits. However, they will be buoyed by their performance against Blackburn Rovers and also by the news that manager Harry Redknapp will not be leaving to take up the reigns of the national team.
Spurs can be backed at 7/1 to come away with a 1-0 win, with a 2-1 away win also priced at 7/1. Bolton will be looking to continue their impressive home record against their London opponents, which includes seven wins and four draws from their last 11 league encounters at the Reebok. The Trotters have been handed odds of 12/1 to record a 1-0 victory, while a 2-1 home win is available at 11/1. A 1-1 draw could be the way to go at 6/1.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe top the first goalscorer betting with odds of 9/2, with Louis Saha at 11/2 and Rafael Van der Vaart at 6/1. Meanwhile David Ngog is available at 8/1 to open the scoring, with Kevin Davies, Ivan Klasnić and Marvin Sordell all priced at 9/1.

Michele Scarponi The Warm Favourite In 2012 Giro D’Italia Betting
May 2, 2012
The first Grand Tour of the season gets underway at the weekend with the 95th edition of the Giro D’Italia taking place and the betting for the three week race is really starting to hot up. At the moment all eyes are on Michele Scarponi who will be looking to win the race for the second successive year and he is the current favourite in the betting with Paddy Power to do just that. Scarponi came second in the race on the road in 2011 but has been awarded the pink jersey since after Alberto Contador was stripped of the title following his drug suspension.
Along with the Tour De France and the Vuelta a Espana, the Giro forms part of the three Grand Tours and it will be a major target for some of the biggest cycling teams in the world. As you would expect the Italian riders are at the fore of the betting with Scarponi the current favourite, he will however need to a close eye on compatriot Ivan Basso who will be hoping to win the race for a third time. Basso has perhaps not been in the best form so far in 2012 but the Giro will be a massive target for him which is reflected in his current price of 9/2 with Paddy Power.
Outside of the big two from Italy there are a number of other potential winners of the pink jersey this year including the Spaniard Joaquim Rodriguez who is in great form after his recent success in Fleche Wallone. Rodriguez has proven himself to be a top GC rider in recent years and at the moment he can backed at 11/1 with Paddy Power to win his first grand tour in Italy over the next three weeks. The Giro is many fans and punters favourite race of the year and with the big start taking place in Denmark over the weekend we can look forward to three weeks of top class action.

Liverpool v Fulham Odds – Luis Suarez 4/1 To Open Scoring
May 1, 2012
Liverpool and Fulham lock horns in rearranged fixture at Anfield tonight. Only one position and three points separate the two teams, meaning that if Fulham come away with a surprise win then they will draw level with Liverpool on 49 points with just two match remaining. Paddy Power have Liverpool priced as the odds-on 8/13 favourites for the win, while Fulham can be backed at 9/2, with a draw available at 14/5.
Liverpool bounced back from their shock home defeat to West Brom with a convincing 3-0 away to Norwich. While their focus will undoubtedly be on Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Chelsea, manager Kenny Dalglish will still be looking for his side to put on a strong performance. Meanwhile Fulham head into the match on the back of a heavy 4-0 defeat away to Everton but will be eager to put that result behind them and come away from Liverpool with at least a point.
Liverpool may have struggled at home this season but they come up against a side that have never won at Anfield and have failed to find the back of the net in their last five trips. A 2-1 and 2-0 home win are both priced at 13/2, with a 3-1 victory available at 11/1. Due to Liverpool’s dodgy home form Fulham may never have a better chance of coming away with their first win and can be backed at 14/1 to sneak a 1-0 win. Two of the last three meetings at Anfield have ended goalless, making a 0-0 scoreline a tempting bet at 10/1.
Luis Suarez, fresh from his hat-trick at Norwich, is the 4/1 favourite in the first goalscorer market. Andy Carroll is available at 5/1 to open the scoring, with Craig Bellamy at 13/2 and both Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard at 7/1. Meanwhile the in-form Clint Dempsey and Pavel Pogrebnyak have been handed odds of 8/1.

Aidan O’Brien Dominating Guineas Betting With Camelot And Maybe The Favourites
May 1, 2012
This weekend sees the first two classics of the season take place in the UK with the 1000 and 2000 Guineas being run on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket. One trainer in particular looks set for a good weekend with Aidan O’Brien set run the favourites in both races with Camelot in the 2000 Guineas and the exciting Maybe set to take her chance in the 1000 Guineas on Sunday afternoon.
The 1000 Guineas for the girls is the second of the big races this season and in Maybe we look to have a top class favourite for the race with the horse unbeaten as a juvenile last year. Maybe won five races from five starts in 2011 and with connections hopeful of a big run she can be backed at 6/4 with BetVictor to win on the Rowley Mile this weekend. Her closest challenge could come from Moonstone Magic who has been supplemented for the race with better weather on the horizon but there is no doubt that all eyes are on Maybe when it comes to the 1000 Guineas.
There is a very similar look to the 2000 Guineas on Saturday with the Aidan O’Brien trained Camelot set to take his chance in the colts classic after a top class season as a juvenile in 2011. The horse hacked up to win the Racing Post Trophy last year and although he has not been seen since he remains the hot favourite to take the win at Newmarket. At the moment Camelot can be backed at a short looking 11/8 with BetVictor to win for Ireland with connections expecting a big run on Saturday afternoon. Aidan O’Brien could be set for a memorable weekend at Newmarket but it has to be worth noting that both Camelot and Maybe have not been seen this season which does add an element of doubt to the mind of punters.

Manchester Derby Odds – Wayne Rooney Anytime Goal Special
April 30, 2012
Man City v Man Utd – Monday, April 30th (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)
The most important and eagerly anticipated Manchester derby takes place tonight at the Etihad Stadium in a title decider that is unlikely to disappoint. If Man City claim the three points then they will leapfrog their rivals into top spot due to their superior goal difference, meanwhile a draw or win for United will effectively end City’s hopes of capturing the title. City have been installed as the 5/4 favourites, while United are priced at 9/4, with a draw also at 9/4. If Wayne Rooney scores anytime in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.
Following their defeat to Arsenal City appeared completely out of the title race, however, they have admiringly clawed their way back into contention and will head into tonight’s match full of confidence. They have a superb record at the Etihad this season, taking a staggering 49 points from a total of 51. However, with 12 wins on the road United have the best away record in the league and have won two and drawn one of their last three matches away to their local rivals.
Who can forget the incredible 6-1 thrashing City handed United at Old Trafford back in October. While a repeat scoreline is extremely unlikely (200/1) the match is sure to have goals. Paddy Power have priced City at 7/1 to win 2-1, while they can be found at 19/1 to record a 3-2 win. Meanwhile, United are available at 10/1 to come away with a 2-1 win and also 10/1 to win 1-0. A draw could be the way to go at 9/4, with a 1-1 draw priced at 11/2.
The in-form Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez are the 6/1 favourites in the first goalscorer market. Aguero has notched five goals in his last three games, while Tevez has scored four in three. Mario Balotelli returns from suspension but is likely to start on the bench. The Italian, who scored twice against United at Old Trafford, has been handed odds of 8/1 to grab the opener and is also available at 5/2 to score at anytime. Elsewhere Wayne Rooney looks a good bet to score first at 13/2, with Danny Welbeck priced at 9/1 and Javier Hernandez at 10/1.

Britains Got Talent Betting Starting To Hot Up As Auditions Rumble On
April 27, 2012
The current series of Britain’s Got Talent continues to attract a big audience on a Saturday night but it is in the betting market that the actions is really starting to hot with a number of acts being backed at this stage. The audition stage has already been going on for some time now but with the live semi-finals on the horizon punters are really beginning to get stuck into their favourite acts while the value remains.
The favourites in the betting remain Jonathan and Charlotte who wowed the judges in week one with their opera voices and despite some strong competition they are the 11/4 market leaders with William Hill. There is no doubt they are the worthy favourites at this stage but that price does seem a little skinny considering we have yet to see the pair sing a note since while there is no guarantee that they will perform well when the pressure is on during the latter stages of the competition.
Dog acts are always popular with Simon Cowell and this year we have a top act in the form of Ashley and Pudsey who had a brilliant audition a couple of weeks ago and look to be real contenders. Britain is a country of dog lovers and if Pudsey can perform in the live shows then their current price of 10/1 with William Hill could prove to be excellent value in a few weeks time. The standard is very high this year which is great news for BGT punters with plenty of value to be found at this stage, there is no doubt that Charlotte and Jonathan are the ones to beat but we have seen plenty of favourites fall by the wayside in recent years meaning we are in for a fascinating few weeks in front of the TV.
