Carling Cup Money Back Specials with Bet365

Click here for odds and betting information relating to the Carling Cup 2011/12 Third Round
The Carling Cup returns this week as the competition enters the Second Round. The majority of the Premier League teams enter at this stage which spices up the betting market as there is always the chance of an upset or two. If you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-time/Full-time or Scorecast Bet on any match and it finishes 0-0 then Bet365 will refund all losing Bets on those markets.
The pick of the games comes at St James Park where League One outfit Exeter City take on Premier League giants Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish has been a breath of fresh air since his return to Merseyside and that has been reflected in the club’s bright start to the season. Liverpool supporters crave trophies and Dalglish will no doubt take this competition seriously. The Carling Cup will come as a welcome break for Exeter after a miserable start to the season which has seen them pick up just a single point from their four league games. Despite this, they are not to be underestimated, as Manchester United found out in 2005 when they were held to a goalless draw at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. The Grecians fans will be up for it and there will is sure to be a cracking cup atmosphere. Liverpool are the overwhelming 2/5 favourites with Bet365, with Exeter priced at 7/1 for a shock win, while a draw is available at 7/2. At 9/1 to win the Carling Cup Liverpool are well worth a punt.
Bet365 have installed Chelsea as the 11/2 favourites, with Man City and Man Utd available at 6/1. With the big guns (Liverpool aside) not entering until the Third Round this gives other clubs an ideal opportunity to make their mark in the competition. With odds of 22/1 to win Aston Villa look like a good bet. Villa made the Final in 2010 and will be hoping to go one better this time round. Alex McLeish’s side have been handed a kind draw at home to Hereford who shouldn’t pose them too many problems. Everton have been handed odds of 16/1 but will have to negotiate their way past Sheffield United in a potentially tricky Second Round match.

Premier League Football – Arsenal v Liverpool Betting with Bet365
August 17, 2011
Arsenal v Liverpool – Saturday 20th August, Sky Sports 2 (12.45pm)
With all the title talk focused on Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, both Liverpool and Arsenal have been largely cast in the shade. Saturday’s match at the Emirates Stadium provides an excellent opportunity for both sides to make an early statement and show they have what it takes to mount a realistic challenge for the title. If you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-time/Full-time or Scorecast Bet on the match and it finishes 0-0 then Bet365 will refund all losing Bets on those markets.
Last season’s fixture at the Emirates was an extraordinary affair. Arsenal thought they had won it when Robin van Persie slotted home a penalty in the eight minute of stoppage time, only for Arsenal to inexcusably gift Liverpool a penalty instantly after, which Dirk Kuyt blasted in to level the game 1-1. This time round both teams come into the game looking for their first league win of the season. There is all sorts of drama going on at Arsenal at the moment and Arsene Wenger will be desperate for a convincing win to ease the pressure on himself and his players. The 2011/12 season only started a week ago and already Wenger is feeling the heat and having to swat away questions concerning his future and his apparent inability to splash the cash on some high quality players that the club so evidently needs.
Arsenal have been unconvincing so far this season and it doesn’t look like things are going to dramatically improve come Saturday. They will be without their new striker Gervinho after he was sent off against Newcastle last weekend, and with Cesc Fabregas gone, Jack Wilshere injured and Samir Nasri unlikely to play, Arsenal lack a creative spark in midfield. Marouane Chamakh has been handed odds of 11/2 to score first while Nicklas Bendtner is available at 13/2. At 10/3 to score anytime new signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be worth a punt.
Liverpool kicked-off their Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland. Despite a bright opening The Reds were off the pace in the second half but nonetheless came away feeling hard done by after a penalty miss and disallowed goal. Luis Suarez looks sprightly so far and is 11/2 to open the scoring, with his striker partner Andy Carroll available at 13/2 and Dirk Kuyt at 7/1. Suarez is also available at 8/1 to score first in a Liverpool win.
Arsenal are the narrow 8/5 favourites with Bet365, whereas Liverpool are priced at 9/5 and a draw is 11/5. Six of the last eleven matches in all competitions between the sides have ended 1-1, with that same scoreline a real possibility at odds of 5/1. Despite their home advantage, on recent form it is difficult to see Arsenal beating Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish looks to be moulding together a strong squad which the fans can get excited about and his side are available at 9/1 to edge it 2-1.

New Zealand Remain Odds On In Rugby World Cup Betting As Tournament Approaches
August 11, 2011
We are now just a matter of weeks away from the start of the 2011 Rugby World Cup with all the teams now in the middle of their final preparations before heading to New Zealand. The home nation have been the hot favorites to win the tournament for some time now and nothing has happened to change either the bookmakers or the punters minds at this late stage, the All Blacks remain the hot odds-on favourites to win the tournament for the first time since 1987 with Bet365. They have been too strong for all their tri Nations opponents so far and on paper they look unbeatable on home turf, as such bet65 make them as short as 8/13 to claim the trophy over the next couple of months.
New Zealand are looking as powerful as ever at the moment but they will be under a tremendous amount of pressure with the home fans and media alike expecting them to blow through the tournament, that in itself may offer the other teams a chance of catching them on a cold day. The All Blacks have swept aside rivals Australia in the Tri Nations but the Aussies remain the second favourites for the Rugby World Cup, they are unlikely to play New Zealand until the final and that is the reason for their 7/2 quote from Bet365 about them winning the tournament. The Australians have a great record in World cups but they have consistently come up short against their nearest rivals over the past few years and their chances will rely on the progress of the All Blacks.
There might be a bit of value to be found with the northern Hemisphere teams with England or France the most likely of them to crash the party in New Zealand. They are two teams that on their day are capable of beating anyone and England in particular do have a formidable record in the Rugby World Cup recently, they of course were the winners in Australia in 2003 before going all the way to the final in France in 2007 before losing to South Africa. England will need to win their pool in New Zealand if they are to have a good run and if they do they could go all the way to the final, with that in mind their price of 10/1 with Bet365 to win the tournament could warrant a closer look from punters. It does have to be said though that New Zealand are the clear and hot favourites to win the tournament this year leaving the other teams hoping for a slip up from the formidable looking All Blacks.

England v Netherlands Betting Specials with Bet365
August 8, 2011
England face Netherlands in a potentially thrilling international friendly on Wednesday at Wembley Stadium. The two sides last met two years when England recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 in Amsterdam. However, since then the teams have experienced different fortunes, with Holland going on to reach the 2010 World Cup Final, which they narrowly lost to Spain in extra-time, and England once again crumbling under the pressure of a major tournament. If England can get a decent result on Wednesday then it will fill them with confidence ahead of their remaning Euro 2010 qualification matches.
Fabio Capello has called up a few new faces to his England squad, including Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck and Tottenham’s Kyle Walker. The match provides Capello with a chance to make some adjustments ahead of England’s important Euro 2012 qualification match away to Bulgaria in September.
Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is most porbably going to partner Wayne Rooney upfront, with Peter Crouch and Welbeck likely to come on in the second-half. Rooney is the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring with Bet365, while Carroll and Crouch are both priced at 13/2 and Welbeck 8/1. With star midfielder Jack Wilshere unlikely to play due to a niggling ankle injury, Capello may try out a new midfield system, which may suit the attacking aspects of Frank Lampard’s game, with the Chelsea player in desperate need of a strong performance for his country.
Holland have one of the most feared attacking line-ups in world football, with the likes of Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Klass Jan Huntelaar in their line-up. England’s occasionally wobbly defence will have to be on top of their game in order to prevent the visitors from getting on the scoresheet.
Bet365 have England priced at 11/8 to come away victorious, whil Holland are available at 2/1 to win and a draw is 9/4. We have a sneaky suspicion that we may witness another cracking 2-2 draw, which is available at odds of 14/1. Also, why not take advantage of Bet35′s special offer – Â If you place a pre-match, half-time/full-time or scorecast bet and the match finishes 0-0 then Bet365 will refund your losing bet.

Gary Barlow The Favourite In 2011 X Factor Winning Judge Betting
July 22, 2011
We are now fast approaching the first appearance on our screens of the 2011 X Factor Series and it will be a much changed show this series with three new judges taking their seats on the panel. The new faces are Take That singer Gary Barlow, former Destinys Child star Kelly Rowland and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos who have replaced the outgoing Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole with Louis Walsh holding onto his job. Most now see Gary Barlow as the new head judge and his popularity with fans make him the favourite to be the winning Manager according to Bet365, they make him a 11/5 shot to mentor the winner of the new series.
It is very early at this stage to have a bet on the series but this is often the best time to get the value as we wait for the audition stage of the show to appear on our screens. Cheryl Cole proved that you do not have to have the best act on your hands to come out on top with her popularity giving her acts a massive boost when it came to the live public vote each Saturday night. The bookmakers are expecting the same thing to happen to Barlow and his acts while Bet365.com are unable to split the remaining three judges in the winning Manager betting which always proves a popular market.
It would be no surprise to see Louis Walsh go all the way this year as he is sure to have plenty of support from the public as the only remaining original judge, this is despite the fact that Walsh has never won the show as a judge. Punters wanting to back Walsh to be the winning judge on the new series can get 11/4 with Bet365 and that could prove value if he finds himself with a top group of acts. The popularity of Kelly Rowland and Tulisa will be interesting as well with their fan bases completely different, the bookmakers are struggling to split them and they are both also available at 11/4 with Bet365.com to win the series on debut. It is a massive year for the X Factor in the UK as they look to soak up the losses of Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, but all the signs are that it could be as strong as ever and if the early betting is anything to go by we are in for an exciting series.

Argentina hot favourites in 2011 Copa America Betting
June 30, 2011
The 2011 Copa America gets underway this Friday (1st July) and the hosts Argentina are the hot favourites to win the tournament for the fifteenth time. Bet365 are offering a decent betting special whereby if you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-Time/Full-Time or Scorecast bet on any match and that game finishes 0-0, then the bookmakers will refund all losing bets on those markets.
As always Argentina and Brazil are the obvious favourites. Argentina edge it in the betting due to their home advantage and, lets not forget, the abundance of high quality attacking players they have at their disposal. With a team consisting of the likes of Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero goals are most definitely on the cards. Messi comes off the back of yet another phenomenal season where he has ruthlessly torn apart some of the best defences in the world with exquisite skill and panache. The Barcelona player is the bookies favourite to come away as the tournament’s Top Goalscorer with odds of 10/3 with Bet365, but he faces some stiff competition from teammates Tevez (15/2) and Higuain (8/1).
In such an attack minded team it is crucial that you have a resolute defence with a solid backbone, something that Argentina have lacked in the past. Although hosting the tournament is a great advantage the players must not let the immense pressure and expectation get to them, otherwise they will crumble. Argentina will need no reminding that they haven’t won a Copa America since 1993.
At 2/1 Brazil look like a very good pick. Not only have they won four of the last five Copa America tournaments but they head into the tournament with an effective blend of youth and experience. In their ranks they have the talented, young Chelsea target Neymar, who caught the eye of Europe’s biggest club’s last season after his excellent performances for Santos, and the striker looks good value at 8/1 to come away with the golden boot. It is no secret that Brazil would love nothing more than to life the trophy on the soil of their fiercest rivals, which will give them extra motivation as the tournament reaches its later stages. Importantly, the Brazilians may also hold the edge mentally as they have beaten Argentina in the last two Copa America finals.
Let us not forget that this tournament does not just consist of two teams, as Uruguay can rightly be proclaimed as realistic challengers for the trophy. As they showed in their impressive run to the World Cup semi-finals in 2010, they have the talent, determination and drive to be a real force. They also have an enviable attack consisting of the lethal Luis Suárez and Diego Forlan, who can be found at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively to finish as the tournament’s leading goalscorer. If the two strikers can replicate the form they showed in South Africa then Uruguay could well be worth a punt at 10/1.
Other teams that could pose a threat to the big guns include Chile (12/1), Paraguay (18/1) and Colombia (33/1), all of whom are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

England Outright Favourites To Win ODI Series Against Sri Lanka
June 29, 2011
England’s new ODI captain Alastair Cook got off to a perfect start in his official first game in charge as England thrashed Sri Lanka by 110 runs in a rain-affected match at The Oval. Jimmy Anderson was the hero for the hosts as he recorded an impressive total of 4-18 as he tore apart the Sri Lanka batsmen. Graeme Swann was also on form as he ended the day with figures of 3-18. However, Cook himself disappointed with the bat as he was sent back to the dressing room early on with a score of just five, something he will be desperate to improve on in the next match. England are now short 1/3 favourites with Bet365 to win the series after their explosive victory on Tuesday, where as Sri Lanka are available at 12/5 to come away victorious.
England now have four remaining ODI matches against Sri Lanka this summer, with the next one taking place on Friday 1st July at Headingley Carnegie at 10.45am. Bet365 have made the hosts the clear 8/13 favourites to win the second match, with Sri Lanka priced at 13/10. Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott are both available at 7/2 to finish the match as England’s Top Batsman, while Craig Kieswetter, who scored an impressive 61 on his return to the team in the previous match, looks good value at 9/2. Spinner Graeme Swann and the hero of the first match Jimmy Anderson can both be found with odds of 3/1 to finish the second match as England’s Top Bowler, with England’s new twenty20 captain Stuart Broad available at 4/1.
Following their first match win England can be found at 6/1 to demolish Sri Lanka 5-0 in the ODI series, while the visitors have long odds of 16/1 to spark a remarkable recovery and come back to win 4-1. See below for more series odds.

Alberto Contador Heavy Favourite In Tour de France Betting
June 28, 2011
The 98th Tour de France gets underway on Saturday 2nd July, as the best cyclists in the world embark on the most prestigious event in cycling and one of the most gruelling physical and mental challenges in sport. The 2011 tour will see 198 racers cover over 3,400km in 21 stages across 23 days. It is always a popular betting market and provides a range of opportunities for punters, ranging from the Outright Winner to King of the Mountains market.
It will come as no surprise to anyone with even only a limited knowledge of cycling to learn that the three-time champion, Alberto Contador, is the major odds-on favourite, with Bet 365 pricing the defending champion at short odds of 7/10 to win what would be his third-straight title. The Spaniard is the best climber in the world and also a nifty time trialist, thus giving him a huge advantage. However, the 28-year-old has been plagued by a long on-going doping investigation, having tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol in the 2010 Tour de France, which could prove to be a nasty distraction.
Contador’s main challenge comes from Luxembourg’s Andy Schleck, who has finished runner up in the past two years, and is priced at 9/1 with Bet 365 to go one step better this year. Schleck is one of the best climbers on the tour but unfortunately he is not much of a time trialist, which could be a key factor preventing him from toping the podium.
With Contador such a huge favourite, it may be best to focus on the ‘Tour De France 2011 Odds without Alberto Contador market’ (see odds below). Ivan Basso and Cadel Evans have a wealth of experience and know what it takes to finish on the podium. The racers are 9/1 and 15/1 respectively to win the tour without Contador. After finishing sixth last year the young Dutchman, Robert Gesink, is definitely in with a shout as is the 40/1 the American long shot Chris Horner. Horner finished in 10th place in 2010 and has had a fantastic year to 2011, winning the Tour of California ahead of Schleck.
As usual the main British hope is Bradley Wiggins. After an array of excellent performances in France two years ago he came away with an excellent 4th place overall, although he did struggle last year, finishing in a disappointing 24th place finish. Bet 365 offers odds of 14/1 on Wiggins to win the race without Contador, which is well worth a punt. Elsewhere Mark Cavendish starts as big 7/5 favourite for the green jersey.

England 25/1 In 2011 Women’s World Cup Betting
June 27, 2011
The 2011 Women’s World Cup got underway yesterday when hosts Germany beat Canada in front of a jam-packed crowd of 75,000. This year’s tournament is expected to be the biggest women’s only sporting ever and as a result the bookmakers Bet365 have a couple of betting specials available for you to get involved in. If you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-Time/Full-Time or Scorecast bet on any match and that game finishes 0-0, then Bet365 will refund all losing bets on these markets.
Germany are the hosts, holders and odds-on favourites for the tournament and with the last two World Cups and seven European Championships to their name they are certainly the team to beat. As expected the Germans got off to a winning start on Sunday after they beat Canada 2-1, courtesy of goals from Kerstin Garefrekes and Celia Okoyino Da Mbabi, with Christine Sinclair scoring a spectacular free-kick for Canada.
With odds of 9/2 with Bet365 Brazil are the second favourites in the betting. The Brazilians have surprisingly never won the Women’s World Cup but they will be eager to create a new slice of history and come away from Germany victorious this time round. They have in their ranks the five-time defending FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year, Marta, and are likely to avoid the fellow big guns Germany and the USA until the final.
The USA come into the tournament as the number one side in the world and third favourites at 6/1. However, they struggled to qualify for the tournament, needing to win a two-match playoff against Italy, and have suffered surprise defeats to Mexico, Sweden and England over the last 12 months. The USA have already won two World Cups (1991 and 1999) and have never finished below third place, and with a relatively easy group which includes North Korea, Columbia and Sweden, they have an excellent chance of winning their third World Cup.
Other teams to keep an eye on include Canada and England, who both have the talent and determination to spring an upset. Canada come into the World Cup fresh off the back of winning the CONCACAF last year, which will have filled them with confidence. Canada have been drawn in arguably the most difficult qualifying group which features Germany, France and Nigeria, and must be on top form if they are to progress through to the quarter-finals.
England are available at 25/1 outsiders to win the 2011 Women’s World Cup. England have a number of good players in their ranks, including veteran striker Kelly Smith, Fara Williams and Rachel Yankey. Hope Powell’s team know they can beat the best teams in the world following their confidence boosting win against the USA earlier this year and after an impressive qualifying campaign they will be looking to make an impact in Germany.
England have been drawn with Japan, Mexico and New Zealand in Group B. Their first game is against Mexico tonight at 5pm in Wolfsburg, and Bet365 have England as the clear 4/9 favourites to win, while Mexico are priced at 6/1 and a draw is at 10/3. Mexico upset the USA in qualifying and will definitely be a tough opening fixture. England will also have to do battle with the group favourites Japan, who are currently ranked fourth in the FIFA women’s world rankings. New Zealand aren’t expected to pose much of a threat, and have suffered heavy defeats to both Netherlands and fellow Group B competitors Mexico in recent times.
England’s Group B matches:
Monday 27th June: v Mexico (Wolfsburg, 5pm).
July 1: v New Zealand (Dresden, 5.15pm).
July 5: v Japan (Augsburg, 5.15pm)

James Degale Odds On To Beat George Groves In Latest Betting
May 16, 2011
This weekend sees one of the most eagerly anticipated domestic boxing bouts in living memory take place with fierce rivals James Degale and George Groves doing battle at the O2 Arena on a great night of boxing. The two British Super-Middleweights have been trading verbal insults since they were in short trousers and with both fighters unbeaten in the Pro ranks this is a potentially massive clash for both men. The rivalry stems back many years when both were part of the same amateur gym in London and vying to be the best, they have both been fighting for that right ever since with the bout on Saturday finally set to settle that score.
There is no doubting that James Degale is the favourite to win the clash with an Olympic Gold Medal already in his cabinet as well as being the current British Super-Middleweight Champion having defeated Paul Smith in style last year. Degale looks to have the more experience and faster hands and that is reflected in his current price of 1/4 with Bet365 to win the fight. Groves though is also a class act under the tutelage of Adam Booth and although he has been less impressive than Degale as a pro so far he remains unbeaten and does have an amateur victory over Degale on his CV making him a dangerous opponent. Groves is the Commonwealth Champion and although he is the underdog he is not without a chance and can be backed a long looking 11/4 with Bet365.com to win on Saturday night.
Degale was hugely impressive against Paul Smith last December to win the British Title and many believe he could be the next big British Boxing star on the world stage, he has blurring hand speed to go with some heavy hands and he will be hoping that gives him the edge against Groves. Degale is likely to be strong for Groves with a late stoppage likely to be where the value is for punters having a bet, the Olympic Champion can be backed at a nice looking 14/1 with Bet365 to stop his rival in Round 9 and that could be cracking value. In truth the fight promises to be an absolute classic with the winner likely to be heading towards a world title fight in the near future as well as picking up the all important bragging rights between the pair.
