The Royal Meeting at Ascot is now just a matter of weeks away and all the talk is about the superstar Aussie sprinter Black Caviar who is heading to the UK to run in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. The wonder from Down Under has proven herself to be the best sprinter in the world over the past few years having won every single one of her 21 starts to date which is an Australasian record.

Connections of Black Caviar have had an eye on bringing the horse to Royal Ascot for some time now and she looks all set for the six furlong Diamond Jubilee Stakes which will be her first run outside of Australia. In truth the standard of British sprinting is very poor at the moment making Black Caviar a massive favourite at 4/9 with Coral to take the win with only the stress of travelling around the world the only threat to her unbeaten record. It’s almost impossible to see anyone running black Caviar close in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes with the British sprinters looking average at best this season with most only interested in how far the mare will win by.

It’s true to say that nobody really knows how good Black Caviar is at this stage with Jockey Luke Nolen motionless on board the horse for most of her wins over the past year or so. Coral are offering odds of 6/1 about Black Caviar winning the Diamond Jubilee by five lengths or more which looks to be excellent value looking at the current list of entries. The horse will be the star attraction of Royal Ascot this year and there is even talk of a possible clash with Frankel over a mile in the Sussex Stakes later in the season which is a mouth watering prospect for racing fans around the world.

When it comes to the Eurovision Song contest there is no doubt that the United Kingdom and Ireland love to beat each other and that is certainly the case this year with the countries putting forward two interesting entries. Ireland will be relying on Jedward for the second year on the bounce for the contest in Azerbaijan while the UK have decided to enter 76-year-old Engelbert Humperdinck in the contest

It has to be said that both the UK and Ireland are taking the contest less than seriously these days with both having next to no chance of winning with the eastern European block voting dominating the votes over the post few years. Punters wanting to get involved with the UK v Ireland match bet can get a price of 4/6 with Bet Victor about the UK entry finishing higher than the Irish entry from Jedward.

Humperdinck has been without a chart hit in the UK for over 40 years but there is the expectation that he may be able to lead the UK to respectability in the Eurovision due to his experience and class. The Irish have gone the other way with Jedward once again representing them this year in Baku, punters wanting to back Ireland to finish higher than the UK can get a price of 11/10 with Bet Victor. It has to be said that both countries have little chance of winning the competition so a battle against each other could well be the only indicator of success for both the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Bayern Munich v Chelsea – Saturday, May 19th (ITV 1, 19:45pm)

Chelsea travel to Germany on Saturday to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final. Bayern are gunning to win the famous trophy on home soil in the Allianz Arena, while Chelsea will be looking to get their hands on the trophy for the first time in their history. Bayern are the hot 4/5 favourites to win in 90 minutes and short-priced at 2/5 to lift the trophy, whereas Chelsea can be backed at 10/3 to win the match in 90 minutes and 15/8 to lift the trophy. If Chelsea win the Champions League, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.

Following their 3-1 defeat away to Napoli in the first-leg of their last-16 encounter Chelsea looked all but out of it. Manager Andre Villas-Boas was dismissed shortly after and the club installed Roberto Di Matteo as interim boss until the end of the season. No one predicted the impact the Italian would have, inspiring Chelsea to overcoming Napoli in the second-leg, before defeating Benfica in the last eight and then masterminding a semi-final win against the heavily-fancied defending champions Barcelona. Di Matteo has also led Chelsea to glory in the FA Cup and now has his sights firmly sets on winning Europe’s top prize.

In contrast Bayern are one of the most successful teams in the competitions history, winning the European Cup four times. In 2010 they reached the Final, only to lose out to Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan. This season Bayern have looked very strong and they booked their place in the Final after beating Mourinho’s current side Real Madrid on penalties. They will head into Saturday’s match as the firm favourites, with an enviable attack consisting of Mario Gomez, Frank Ribery and former Chelsea star Arjen Robben, who will look to do what Lionel Messi couldn’t do and score against Chelsea.

Bayern have been handed odds of 7/1 to win 2-0 in normal time, with a 2-1 win also available at 7/1, whereas a 3-1 victory is priced at 13/1. Meanwhile Chelsea can be found at 11/1 to sneak a 1-0 win in 90 minutes, with a 2-1 win available at 14/1. Alternatively a 1-1 draw may prove to be a tempting bet at 11/2.

Bayern dominate the first goalscorer betting market, with 14-goal Mario Gomez leading the way with odds of 4/1. Arjen Robben is at 5/1 to score the opener against his old club, with Frank Ribery at 5/1, Ivica Olic at 6/1 and Nilis Petersen priced at 13/2. Chelsea’s man main Didier Drogba simply loves scoring in Finals and can be backed at 15/2 to score the first goal of the game in what could be his last ever match for The Blues. Meanwhile, Fernando Torres is available at 8/1, with Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge both priced at 10/1.

This weekend sees one of the biggest games in club rugby take place at Twickeneham with Leinster and Ulster set to do battle for the 2012 Heineken Cup. It has already been a remarkable season for the European Cup in Rugby Union but the all Irish final is set to be a classic with two former winners going head-to-head for the biggest prize in the sport. The betting surrounding the match is expected to be massive in Ireland on Saturday with Leinster the warm favourites to take the win according to the latest show from Paddy Power.

Leinster have truly been one of the power houses of the game in recent years and they go into the final this year bidding to win the competition for the third time in just four years. The bookmakers are convinced they will take all the beating and punters wanting to back Leinster to win the match can get a price of 1/4 with Paddy Power which reflects their experience and form at the moment. Brian O’Driscoll will be leading his team out at Twickenham on the weekend and his class will be vital if they are to hold off an Ulster side who are riding the quest of the a wave at the moment.

Ulster have been in great form in the past few months and have made the final of the Heineken Cup for the first time since they won the tournament back in 1999. The team from Northern Ireland beat Edinburgh to reach the final and punters wanting to back them to take the title at Twickenham can get a price of 3/1 with Paddy Power currently. There is no doubt that they face an uphill task against Leinster but punters would be foolish to rule out a brave Ulster side who will be giving everything at the weekend to win what looks likely to be one of the best finals in recent history.

The next major championship this season is of course the US Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco and the betting for the tournament is now starting to take shape. There is no surprise to see Tiger Woods towards the top of the betting for the Major and along with defending Champion Rory Mcilroy he is fighting for favouritism in the latest show of betting with Ladbrokes.

Woods has shown some glimpses of his best form so far this season with a tournament win at Bay Hill the highlight but he has remained inconsistent by his very high standards as we head to the US Open. Punters wanting to back Woods to win his first Major Championship since 2008 can currently get a price of 8/1 with Ladbrokes which is the same price as world number one and defending Champion Rory Mcilroy who is always a big danger.

Outside of the big two in the betting there are of course plenty of other options for punters to to consider with Masters Champion Bubba Watson sure to be of particular interest in the market. Watson has taken a break from the game since winning his first Green Jacket but he has to be a major threat in San Francisco and the left-hander is currently available at a good looking 33/1 with Ladbrokes to win his second Major on the bounce.

Spanish Grand Prix – Sunday 13th May (Sky Sports F1, 1pm)

Formula One returns to our screens on Sunday as the drivers’ line-up for the Spanish Grand Prix. The 2012 season has been very open so far, with four different drivers victorious in the opening four races. Continuing with that theme the last six winners in Barcelona have all been different and in total eight former winners take to the grid on Sunday for the first European race of the year. If your selection fails to complete the first 3 laps, Betfred will refund all Outright and Fastest Lap Singles up to £250.

The 2011 and 2010 Drivers Champion Sebastian Vettel finally got his first win of the season in Bahrain, which was enough to propel him to the top of the standings. The German, who won in Barcelona last year, is priced at 11/4 to record another win and increase his lead at the summit.

Lewis Hamilton has three podium finishes to his name so far this season but will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 8th-placed finish in Bahrain. Hamilton, who is second in the overall standings, is available at 7/2 to pick up his first win of the season. Similarly Button endured a poor race in Bahrain, finishing way back in 18th after suffering a differential failure two-laps from the end. The 32-year-old is six points behind Hamilton in the standings and can be backed at 5/1 to win in Barcelona, a course he won in 2009.

Fernando Alonso has looked good in qualifying and was a winner back in 2006. The Spaniard is priced at 8/1 to win his second race of the season. Elsewhere Kimi Raikkonen is a two-time winner on the circuit (2005 & 2008), which makes him a tempting bet at 8/1, while six-time Spanish Grand Prix winner Michael Schumacher is an outside bet at 20/1.

Premier League: The Final Day – Sunday, May 13th

This Sunday marks the end to a truly enthralling season in the Premier League. The 2011/12 campaign has been jam-packed with unprecedented drama, controversy and sublime goals, making it one of the most exciting seasons to date. Paddy Power are offering a tempting Final Day money-back special whereby if there is a goal in the last five minutes of any Premier League match, they will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on that game.

This season’s compelling race for the title has centred on the two Manchester clubs, who are both locked on 86 points going into the final day of the season. However, it is Manchester City who hold the advantage due to their superior goal difference (+8), meaning all they need is a win at home against QPR to secure their first top flight title since 1968. Man Utd will travel to Sunderland in the hope that City slip up at the Etihad Stadium or record a titanic win at the Stadium of Light.

The battle for a top four finish has gone right down to the wire, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all in contention for the remaining two spots. Any of the three teams can finish in the third and final automatic Champions League spot, with Arsenal in pole position in third with 67 points, followed by North London rivals Spurs who are one point behind, with Newcastle in fifth with 65 points. The Gunners travel to West Brom, while Spurs host Fulham, with the Magpies arguably having the toughest of the three fixtures as they face a trip to Everton.

The fight for survival has been equally gripping and this Sunday we will find out who will be joining Wolves and Blackburn Rovers in the Championship next season. Aston Villa’s superior goal difference virtually guarantees their safety, which means its all come down to QPR and Bolton. QPR are currently in 17th, two points ahead Bolton, meaning a win or even a draw (due to their superior goal difference over the Trotters) will ensure that they stay up. However, they have the impossible task of travelling to Man City, who not only will be going all out for the win to clinch the title but have a fantastic record at home, having taken 52 points from an available 54 at the Etihad Stadium this season. Meanwhile Bolton have a tricky fixture away to Stoke, in a match they simply must win to have any chance of staying up.

Final Day Matches (all matches kick off at 3pm)

Chelsea v Blackburn

Everton v Newcastle

Man City v QPR (Sky Sports 1)

Norwich v Aston Villa

Stoke v Bolton

Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao – Wednesday, May 9th (Channel 5, 19:45)

The 2012 Europa League Final is an all-Spanish affair with Athletic Bilbao taking on the 2010 Champions Atletico Madrid in Romania at Bucharest’s National Stadium. Atletico Madrid have been installed as the 6/4 favourites, with Athletic Bilbao priced at 15/8, while a draw is available at 9/4. If there are four or more goals in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.

Atletico Madrid head into the showdown in good form and unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions. The 2010 Europa League winners have also impressively won 11 consecutive matches in the competition, including a double against Valencia in the semi-finals. In contrast Athletic Bilbao’s recent performances have been wobbly, losing two and drawing one of their last three games. However, this season they have been on fire in Europe, knocking out the likes of Manchester United, Schalke and most recently Sporting Lisbon en-route to the Final.

In terms of their head-to-head record the sides can’t be separated, with each team winning five of the last 10 meetings. This season Bilbao comfortably won 3-0 at the San Mamés Stadium in October, before Madrid got their revenge with a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture in March. Wednesday’s crunch encounter is likely to be a closely fought affair, which could easily go into extra time, making a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes a tempting bet at 11/1. Madrid can be backed at 8/1 to win 2-1 in 90 minutes, with a 1-0 win available at 15/2. Meanwhile Bilbao are priced at 9/1 to record a 2-1 win in normal time and have been handed odds of 17/2 to sneak a 1-0 win.

Madrid are the top goalscorers in the competition this season with 30 goals and it comes as no surprise to see that Radamel Falcao leads the first goalscorer market with odds of 5/1. The striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 10 goals in Europe and netting 23 in La Liga. The 13/2 priced Lopez Alvarez Adrian has eight goals to his name in the competition, while Eduardo Salvio is available at 9/1. Bilbao’s Spanish international Fernando Llorente has also enjoyed a decent season, with seven goals for his side in Europe as well as 17 in the league and he can be backed at 11/2 to open the scoring. Elsewhere Gaizka Toquero, Iker Muniain and Ibai Gomez are all available at 10/1.

This weekend sees the final of Britain’s Got Talent take place for 2012 and after a stellar series we are looking forward to one of the best finals in the shows history. The semi-finals have been going on all week on ITV and a number of top acts have emerged from the pack to put themselves in the frame for the final with the Opera singing pair of Charlotte and Jonathan the clear favourites.

The pair of singers wowed the judges and the live audience during their semi-final performance and Paddy Power are convinced they are the act to beat on Saturday night as they make them the clear 4/5 favourites to win the competition. Jonathan in particular has impressed the audience with his vocals and there is a feeling that we are experiencing another Susan Boyle moment with the pair set for stardom whatever the outcome of the final on Saturday.

Punters looking for a bit more value in the betting for the final will need to look no further than Ashley and her dog Pudsey who have been taking to the hearts of the nations this year. The pair of them put on a thrilling display to win their semi-final and punters wanting to back them to become the first dog act to win the show on Saturday night can get a price of 5/2 with Paddy Power. Britain’s Got Talent always proves a big hit with viewers at this time of year and the final looks set to be the icing on the cake for Simon Cowell as the show continues to win their highly public rating s battle with The Voice on BBC1.

The inevitable news has emerged today that David Haye and Dereck Chisora will meet in the ring this summer after their much publicised press conference brawl in Munich back in February. The British fighters disgraced themselves in Germany with their behaviour leading to the withdrawal of Chisora’s British licence but promoter Frank Warren has announced the enemies will face off at Upton Park in London on July 14th.

The announcement of the fight comes as no surprise to anyone in Boxing with the money talking as always in the sport, the winner of the fight will be right in World title contention which makes it a no brainer for both fighters. Haye is clearly the hot favourite to take the win, he is a former undisputed Cruiserweight World Champion and a former heavyweight World Champion wto boot making him the warm favourite here. The Hayemaker is the classier of the two fighters and punters wanting to back him to win the fight on July 14th can get 4/9 with Ladbrokes.

Dereck Chisora disgraced himself throughout that weekend in Munich and many will find his return to the ring a difficult one to stomach but there is no doubt that on his best day he could well cause Haye a number of problems. Del Boy lost his licence in the UK as a result of his conduct with the Luxembourg Board of control putting the fight on at the home of West Ham which will allow him to restart his Boxing career. Punters wanting to back the upset here can currently bet on Dereck Chisora to win the grudge match at a big price of 7/4 with Ladbrokes. There is no doubt that David Haye is the worthy favourite here, he has experience and class on his side but his lack of action in the ring does open the door for Chisora with both fighters hoping to reignite their careers in the heavyweight division.
