Feel the Rage as battle for the Christmas number one heats up

Earlier on in the month we had thought that the battle for the Christmas number one single would be a sure fire thing, like it has been for the last few years, the X-Factor show finishes and the sheep all go and buy the single (no matter how lame, talking to you Leon Jackson) and the song becomes the festive hit single.

However the likes of Simon Cowell did not realise how powerful the social networking site Facebook can be in rallying up support for a cause. A couple of disgruntled music lovers were fed up of the same old same and thought of the excellent idea of getting Rage Against The Machines 1993 anthem “Killing in the Name of” as the alternative Christmas number one, they started a group on Facebook and within a short time had several thousand members and at the time of writing this has hit over 800,000 members. They then asked all the members to download via iTunes or other digital music outlets.
