Novak Djokovic 10/1 To Win All Grand Slams In 2012

January 31, 2012

Novak Djokovic kicked-off the New Year with a bang after claiming his third Australian Open crown and fifth Grand Slam of his career after overcoming Rafael Nadal in a pulsating five-set thriller. The 24-year-old, who has won three Grand Slams in a row and four of the last five, simply looks unstoppable at the moment and if he can stay injury free he will be setting his sights on a clean sweep of Grand Slams in 2012. Ladbrokes have Djokovic priced at 10/1 to achieve this goal and become only the third male player (behind Don Budge and Rod Laver) in history to win accomplish the remarkable feat of winning the True Grand Slam.

The epic encounter between Djokovic and Nadal at Melbourne Park set a new record of five hours and 53 minutes for a Grand Slam Final and Ladbrokes are offering odds of 25/1 for that match time to be broken in any men’s Grand Slam Final this year. Next up in the calendar is the French Open in May. This is the only Slam which Djokovic has yet to win and if he does so he will not only achieve the career Grand Slam but hold all the Slams at one time. Djokovic is currently the second favourite behind the clay court maestro Nadal to win at Roland Garros. However, Djokovic has now beaten the Spaniard seven times in a row – all in Finals and twice on clay – giving him a huge mental advantage.
