Strictly Come Dancing Final Betting Specials With Paddy Power

December 15, 2011

This weekend sees Strictly Come Dancing 2011 come to an end with the Final in Blackpool and there are some cracking betting specials for fans and punters to get stuck into. The BBC series has been as popular as ever over the past couple of months and we appear to have the best three dancers in the final with Harry Judd, Jason Donovan and Chelsee Healey set to do battle on Saturday night. At the moment it is McFly drummer Judd who heads the betting to win the show with Paddy Power making him the 1/4 favourite to claim the famous glitter ball.

Judd has been the long time favourite on the show with his legion of McFly fans supporting him each week but he is facing some tough competition on Saturday night in the form of actress Chelsee Healey. The Waterloo Road star is without doubt the most improved dancer on the series and is fresh off a perfect score of 40 meaning she will go into the final full of confidence and with every chance of claiming the win. Healey can be backed at 5/2 with Paddy Power to claim the win which could prove to be the best piece of value on the night with Jason Donovan the outsider of the three celebrities.

Punters wanting to find the value in the Strictly Come Dancing Final market may want to have a closer look at the straight forecast which gives punters the task of finding who will finish first and second on Saturday night. The bookmakers believe we will see Harry Judd take the win and Chelsee Healey finish first and second and punters can get 4/9 with Paddy Power about that happening which does offer a little more value. Strictly Come Dancing continues to be the biggest show on the BBC and with the final being shown in 3D this year it could well prove to be the biggest and best final yet with the three brilliant finalists set to do battle.

Military Wives Choir Favourites For Christmas Number One

December 14, 2011

The race for the Christmas Number One is on with the odds indicating a two-horse race between the Military Wives Choir and X Factor winners Little Mix. The festive No.1 is usually dominated by the X Factor winners but the forces single is proving to be more than just a challenger this year after being installed as hot favourites with all bookmakers.

Gareth Malone’s Military Wives Choir are currently available at 1/3 with Paddy Power to claim the prestigious title with their song Wherever You Are. If pre-order figures are anything to go by then the single will be a massive hit after Amazon revealed that The Military Wives had smashed their record for the most pre-ordered track. The single will be released the week before Christmas on Sunday 19th December. Girl band Little Mix, who are available at 5/2 with Paddy Power, recently became the first ever group to win the X Factor after they beat Marcus in the Final at Wembley Stadium. The talented four-piece have released a cover of the famous Damien Rice song Cannonball, which they hope will catapult them to the top of the charts.

Both the Military Wives Choir and Little Mix could face stiff competition from the Nirvana tune Smells Like Teen Spirit, which is being re-released following a massive Facebook campaign. The famous track, which is priced at 12/1 to reach No.1, celebrates the 20th anniversary of its release and those behind it are hoping that it can match the success of Rage Against The Machine’s Killing In The Name which was crowned Christmas No.1 back in 2009.

Military Wives – Wherever You Are

Elsewhere, Damien Rice’s original version of Cannonball can be backed at 25/1, while The Pogues Fairytale of New York is priced at 40/1. Also available at 40/1 is the Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber collaboration All I want For Christmas Is You, while the Cast of The Only Way Is Essex (50/1) have released their own charity single Last Christmas.

Europa League Betting: Money Back Special With Ladbrokes

December 13, 2011

The Europa League Group Stage comes to an exciting climax this week as those teams still in contention to qualify  battle it out for a place in the knockout phase of the competition. Ladbrokes are offering a cracking special on all five matches involving British teams, where they will refund your losing first goalscorer bets if your selection scores later in the match. On Wednesday night Stoke City travel to Besiktas, and Fulham host OB Odense, while on the Thursday Tottenham go to Shamrock Rovers, Championship side Birmingham welcome Maribor, and Celtic play Udinese in Italy.

Besiktas v Stoke City – Wednesday 14th December (ESPN, 6pm)

Stoke have had an impressive campaign so far which is reflected in their position as Group E leaders going into the final game. A draw will ensure that they finish top but manager Tony Pulis is unlikely to field his strongest squad considering his side have already qualified and that they have a busy Christmas period in the league ahead of them. Stoke are yet to lost in the group, while a win for Besiktas will ensure that they finish top of Group E. Beskitas, who are unbeaten in six matches, are the odds-on 8/11 favourites, while Stoke are available at 3/1 to come away with the three points. Hugo Almeida has been installed as the 5/1 favourite in the First Goalscorer Betting, while Peter Crouch and Jon Walters can both be backed at 7/1 to score the opener.

Fulham v OB OdenseWednesday 14 December (Channel Five, 20.05pm)

Fulham will be gunning for a win which will see them qualify for the knockout stage. The Cottagers are currently second in Group K and will guarantee qualification if they match Wisla Krakow’s result, who are one point behind them in third. Fulham head into the match on the back of a disappointing defeat at Swansea but with home advantage they should be too strong for OB Odense. The bookies’ certainly think so with Ladbrokes handing Martin Jol’s men short odds of 1/5 to win on Wednesday night, while the visitors are priced at a distant 8/1. Fulham’s Moussa Dembele, Clint Dempsey, Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora are all available at 4/1 to open the scoring.

Thurday’s Matches

Tottenham travel to Ireland to play Shamrock Rovers in what is likely to be their last match of the competition. Harry Redknapp will almost definitely put out a reserve side in order to give his fringe players a run out. Spurs are the odds on 2/5 favourites while Rovers have been handed odds of 5/1 to win their first match of the competition. Elsewhere Birmingham City host bottom side Maribor, needing a win to qualify providing Braga to beat Club Brugge, while Celtic travel to Udinese also needing a win to progress.

Kauto Star Confirmed For Long Run Rematch In King George Chase

December 13, 2011

Last month Kauto Star produced one of the most memorable performances in recent memory to roll back the years and win the Betfair Chase and connections have now confirmed the 11 year-old will take his chance in the King George on Boxing Day. The Dual Gold cup hero is a four-time winner at Kempton and his participation is exactly what the race needs as he gets ready to take on Long Run once again. It was Kauto who came out on top last time out at Haydock but the younger Long Run was the star last season as he won the King George and the Gold Cup in a remarkable few months for connections.

Long Run looked like he needed the race at Haydock last time out and should improve in time for the defence of his King George but all the sentimental money will go on Kauto Star who is without doubt the nations favourite horse. After Paul Nicholls confirmed Kauto for the race the bookmakers trimmed him for Kempton and he is now as short as 4/1 with Boylesports to win a record fifth King George Chase. The Champion Trainer has also confirmed that his long time jockey Ruby Walsh will be on board the horse with Daryl Jacob given the plum ride on board stable mate Master Minded who will also take his chance.

While many punters will have a few quid on Kauto Star it has to be said that Long Run remains the justified favourite after his comfortable win in the race last season. He blew the field away in style and although he was below his best in the Betfair Chase, Long Run is still the 6/4 favourite with Boylesports to claim the win for the second successive year. The Nicky Henderson horse has age on his side as he is only just about to turn seven and might still be improving but the hearts of many racing fans will be with the great Kauto Star as he goes into battle at Kempton for what is likely to be the final time.

King George Chase Odds 2011 with Boylesports

  • 6/4 – Long Run
  • 4/1 – Kauto Star
  • 5/1 – Master Minded

Carl Froch Facing Tough Task Against Andre Ward In Super Six Final Betting

December 12, 2011

This weekend we finally get to see the final of the super Six Tournament on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, Carl Froch will be taking on the exciting unbeaten Andre Ward from the US in what promises to be a top class clash. We started the tournament over two years ago with the six best Super-Middleweights in the world and in Froch and Ward we have the two best 168 pound fighters left standing ahead of the Super Six Final on Saturday night. Ward is very much a fighter on the up and the younger of the two and that is reflected in the betting for the fight with Bet365.com making him the 1/3 favourite to win the fight by any method.

Ward is known as a flashy fighter whose main asset is his speed and most boxing observers believe his fast hands could well prove to be the deciding factor in what could be a classic fight in Atlantic City. That could well be the case but he is not known as a heavy puncher with only 13 of his 24 wins coming way of knock out so punters may want to back Andre Ward to win on points which is available at 1/2 with Bet365.

There is no doubting the class of Andre Ward but the former Olympic Champion has never faced anyone with the toughness of Csrl froch and there will be plenty of punters wanting to back the Cobra to cause an upset on Saturday night. The man from Nottingham has just one loss to his name and relies on his punch power and granite chin to get him through while he loves to draw his opponents into an up close brawl. Ward will be wary of getting too close to a warrior like Froch who will be looking to unleash his power on the America, with that in mind the 7/1 on offer from Bet365 about Froch winning by knock-out could prove to be value for his supporters.

Carl Froch v Andre Ward Super Six Final Betting with Bet365

  • 1/3 – Andre Ward to win by any method
  • 9/4 – Carl Froch to win by any method

Method Of Victory Betting

  • 1/2 – Ward to win Decision
  • 10/3 – Froch to win by Decision
  • 7/1  – Froch to win by KO or DQ
  • 8/1 – Ward to win by Ko or DQ

Chelsea v Man City Betting: Money Back Special With Paddy Power

December 12, 2011

Chelsea v Man City - Monday 12th December (Sky Sports, 8pm)

One of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the season is finally upon us as Chelsea take on league leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge tonght. Man City will be desperate to put their Champions League heartache behind them by continuing their scintillating league form, which has seen them pick up 38 points from an available 42 so far this season. Meanwhile, a rejuvenated Chelsea side are fresh off the back of consecutive 3-0 wins and will be gunning for a valuable three points that will catapult them back into the title race. Andre Villas-Boas’ men can be backed at 6/4 with Paddy Power to win their third consecutive match, while Man City are priced at 9/5 to record their sixth away league win of the season, with a draw available at 23/10.

Chelsea roared to victory against Valencia last week to secure qualification to the Champions League knockout phase for the ninth consecutive year. The win has not only restored confidence and belief in the side but also eased the pressure on boss Villas-Boas. Despite beating Bayern Munich 2-0, Man City’s debut Champions League campaign came to end and it will be interesting to see how they respond at Chelsea tonight.

Chelsea have only kept four clean sheets in the league this season, a worrying statistic considering their opponents have scored in every match so far, including three or more goals in nine of their games. On top of that they smashed six past United at Old Trafford and five past Tottenham at White Hart Lane. However, it is worth bearing in mind that City have lost on five of their last six visits to Stamford Bridge. If there is a goal scored in the last five minutes, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match

Didier Drogba has responded magnificently since speculation erupted concerning his future with Chelsea. The Ivorian hit the back of the net three times in four days last week, opening the scoring against both Valencia and Newcastle, and he is available at 13/2 to score the first goal of the match. An in-form Daniel Sturridge, who has scored in each of Chelsea’s last three league matches, is a tempting bet at 7/1 to score the opener while Juan Mata is priced at 10/1. City’s Sergio Ageuro can be backed at 13/2 to be the game’s First Goalscorer, with Edin Dzeko at 7/1 and Mario Balotelli at 15/2.

The Blues have performed poorly against the big teams this season having already lost to Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool, while Man City have thrashed both United and Spurs. Stamford Bridge is not the fortress it once was but the Valencia win was massive and will fill Chlesea with confidence. City haven’t lost on their travels in the league since early May but with their record away to Chelsea not the best they would no doubt be happy with a draw. A Chelsea win will not only spice things up a little at the top but prove they are certainly not on the decline.

Sunderland v Blackburn Odds: Goals Galore Special With Paddy Power

December 8, 2011

Sunderland v BlackburnSunday 11th December (Sky Sports 1, 13.30pm)

Sunderland host fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers at the Stadium of Light on Sunday in Martin O’Neill’s first match in charge. O’Neill replaced the axed Steve Bruce last Saturday and will be looking to galvanise a lacklustre Sunderland side who are languishing down in 17th in the Premier League. Rovers are just a point behind in 18th but they will be buoyed by their confidence boosting win against Swansea last weekend. Paddy Power have Sunderland as the odds-on 5/6 favourites to win O’Neill’s opening match, while Blackburn are priced at 10/3 to win their first match on the road since the final day of the 2010/11 season. Meanwhile, a draw can be found a 5/2.

Sunderland have been on a torrid run of late, failing to win in five matches, and have only won once at the Stadium of Light all season and that was way back on 18th September. Before last Saturday’s thumping 4-2 win at home to Swansea, Rovers had failed to win any of their previous eight league games, which has piled the pressure on under-fire manager Steve Kean. However, Sunderland have won three and lost none of the last six league meetings between the sides, including a 3-0 home win last season.

If there are four or more goals in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match. Rovers may be sitting third from bottom but they have certainly not been shy in front of goal this season. On two occasions they have scored four goals in a game and in a further two matches they have hit three, and there have also been four or more goals in four of their last five league games. Furthermore, outside of the top 5 they have scored the most away goals on the road this season (11) just one less than Man Utd and Chelsea. However, their leaky defence means they have also conceded a shed load of goals and they are still without a league win away from Ewood Park. Taking into account Sunderland’s miserable home form and Rovers’ away jitters this match has a draw written all over it, with a 2-2 draw looking good value at 12/1.

Sunderland’s on-loan striker Nicklas Bendtner is the 11/2 favourite to open the scoring, with Fraizer Campbell and Ji Dong-Won available at 6/1. Everton’s in-form striker Yakuba hit a stunning four goals last weekend – taking his tally to six goals in his last three league games – and can be backed at 13/2 to open the scoring on Sunday.

Harry Judd The Hot Favourite In Latest Strictly Come Dancing Winner Betting

December 8, 2011

We are now heading towards the final of Strictly Come Dancing 2011 and in Harry Judd we have a hot favourite to lift the famous glitter ball in a couple of weeks time. The McFly drummer has leapt from the pack to grab favouritism with the bookmakers after a number of impressive performances over the last month and it’s hard to see anyone giving him a serious run as we approach the final. The bookmakers were struggling to decide a favourite during the first part of the series but with the number of couples now whittled down it’s clear that Judd is the heavy favourite to win the show.

McFly fans across the country are already celebrating after bassist Dougie Poynter claimed the King Of the Jungle title on Im A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and their attention will now turn towards making sure Judd claims the Strictly Come Dancing trophy. Ladbrokes are convinced that Judd has the title in the bag as he his as short as 4/9 with the Magic Sign to claim the famous glitter ball just before Christmas and based on his performance it is hard to argue with that assessment.

The closest challenger to Judd is actress Chelsee Healey who is perhaps the most improved dancer of the series and continues to impress the judges on a weekly basis. Healey had an uncertain start but has grown in stature over the past month and is rated as a 10/3 shot with ladbrokes to win the show outright. In truth though she faces a tough battle against the excellent Judd who can rely on the legion of McFly fans to vote him to success in the final as happened with Poynter in the Jungle over on ITV. It has has been a memorable series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2011 with a number of excellent couples staking their claims but with only one winner of the show allowed it appears that the glory will go to Harry Judd and his partner Aliona Vilani.

Strictly Come Dancing Betting 2011 with Ladbrokes

  • 4/9 – Harry Judd and Aliona
  • 10/3 – Chelsee Healey and Pasha
  • 7/1 – Jason Donovan and Kristina
  • 33/1 – Alex Jones and James
  • 33/1 – Holly Valance and Artem

FC Basle v Man Utd Betting: Wayne Rooney Last Goal Special

December 7, 2011

FC Basle v Man Utd – Wednesday 7th December (ITV 1, 19.45pm)

Manchester United travel to FC Basle tonight needing a point to qualify for the Champions League knockout phase. Fergie’s men are the hot odds-on 8/13 favourites to come away with the win, while the Swiss side can be backed at 9/2 for a shock victory that would see them progress through to the later stages of the competition. You can take advantage of the Paddy Power Champions League money back special – If Wayne Rooney scores the last goal, then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

United head into tonight’s crucial match plagued with suspensions and injuries, especially in attack where they will have to do without Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez, which means the pressure will be on Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck to deliver goals. It also gives Federico Macheda and Mame Biram Diouf the opportunity to shine. The meeting between the sides at Old Trafford back in September was a six-goal thriller, with Ashley Young scoring a last minute goal to snatch a point for United. Even though a draw tonight would ensure progress to the next round, United will be going all out for the three points, and they are available at 8/1 to come away with a 2-0 win. They are also priced at 13/2 to win 2-1 and 12/1 to record a 3-1 win, as they did the last time they came to Basle in 2002. Alternatively a 1-1 draw can be found at 6/1.

Fergie will be hoping Wayne Rooney can find his goalscoring touch, with the striker is the 4/1 favourite to open the scoring and the same odds to score the game’s last goal. Danny Welbeck, who scored two in the home fixture, is available at 5/1 to score first, while Mame Biram Diouf and Federico Macheda are priced at 7/1. Basle’s Alexander Frei, who also notched two goals in the previous meeting, can be backed at 8/1 to be the First Goalscorer while Marco Streller is available at 10/1.

Chelsea v Valencia Odds: Champions League Qualifying Special

December 6, 2011

Chelsea play Valencia tonight at Stamford Bridge in a pivotal Champions League group stage clash. The Blues must win or hold the La Liga side to a goalless draw in order to book their place in the knockout stages. Chelsea have been disappointing in the competition this year but a win tonight would be the perfect ingredient to kick-start their season and ease the pressure on under-fire manager Andre Villas-Boas. They have been installed as the odds-on 8/11 favourites to win the match and thus qualify for the last 16, while Valencia can be backed at 7/2. Meanwhile, a draw is available at 11/4. Furthermore, Ladbrokes will refund losing first goalscorer and correct score bets on the Chelsea vs Valencia match if the Blues fail to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.

Chelsea have their fate in their own hands as they aim to reach the knockout stages for the ninth consecutive year. Both Chelsea and Valencia are glued on eight points each in Group E, one point behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen who have already qualified. Chelsea have been very inconsistent this season and are certainly not the dominant European outfit they were a few years ago. However, they have a good record against Spanish opposition at Stamford Bridge, having won seven out of 12 meetings, with just the one defeat.

Chelsea’s defence has been anything but rock solid this season which makes a Valencia goal more than likely at some point during the 90 minutes. Although they will be buoyed from their confidence boosting victory at Newcastle last weekend and we think they will just about do enough tonight to ensure their passage through to the next round. The Blues are priced at 7/1 to edge the match 2-1 and 6/1 to win 1-0, while Valencia are available at 12/1 to win 2-1 and also 12/1 to come away with a 1-0 win. A 1-1 draw may be a good bet at 6/2, especially considering that two of the last five meetings between the sides have ended in this way, and the fact that Valencia have drawn nine of their 14 matches in England.

Didier Drogba ias the 9/2 favourite to be the First Goalscorer tonight. Fernando Torres is also priced at 9/2 but could be a risky bet as he rarely starts matches these days, which means at 5/1 Daniel Sturridge could be the way to go. Frank Lampard can be backed at 6/1 to open the scoring while the in-form Juan Manuel Mata is available at 7/1. Valencia’s Roberto Soldado has been handed odds of 6/1, while Aritz Aduriz and Jonas Goncalves are both available at 8/1.Whatever happens it will certainly be a nervy night at the Bridge.
