Premier League Money Back Specials

December 25, 2011

All 20 Premier League Matches – Monday 26th December to Sunday 1st January

Paddy Power are running a cracking money-back special on all 20 Premier League matches from Boxing Day until New Year’s Day. If there are 5 or more goals in any game, then Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on that match. With the likes of free scoring Manchester City and Manchester United hitting the back of the net for fun recently there could prove to be an avalanche of goals during the festive period.

The top six teams have all been handed fairly favourable fixtures and they will not only be going all out for the win in their matches but they will see this as an opportunity to boost their goal difference, which could prove to be fundamental come the end of the season. League leaders Man City travel to West Brom on Boxing Day and then Sunderland on New Year’s day looking to add to their already mammoth tally of 53 league goals. Their fierce rivals Man Utd host Wigan and then Blackburn, which could also prove to be two high scoring games. Third place Tottenham visit Norwich and then Swansea where as Chelsea welcome Fulham and Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge, with all four games having the potential for goals. Elsewhere, Arsenal have home matches against Wolves and QPR, while Liverpool also have home fixtures, against Blackburn and Newcastle, and we all remember that seven goal thriller between Liverpool and Newcastle back in 1997.

Long Run Available In Tempting Cheltenham Festival Special Bet

December 23, 2011

As we head into the New Year, preparations for the 2012 Cheltenham Festival begin to really hot up with punters looking to find some value in the ante post markets. One of the stars of Cheltenham in 2011 was Long Run who memorably won the Gold Cup for Nicky Henderson and Sam Waley-Cohen and there are plenty of specials surrounding his chances of repeating that trick in 2012. Betfred are the new sponsors of the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival and they in particular are offering some very attractive specials surrounding the biggest race of the season in March with Long Run featured highly.

As well as Long Run, the other big star of the Cheltenham Festival last season was Hurricane Fly who was the highly impressive winner of the Champion Hurdle for Irish Trainer Willie Mullins. Betfred are offering a cracking price of 10/1 for both Hurricane Fly and Long Run to repeat their success from last year and win the Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle respectively this season. Hurricane Fly was far too good for the field last year in the Champion Hurdle and if he arrives at Cheltenham fit and well he will be a short price favourite and the same can be said of Long Run who is still an improving horse at seven years old.

The Hurricane Fly/Long Run double looks to be excellent value for such two top class horses but there are doubts surrounding the fitness of Hurricane Fly at the moment and Betfred seem happy to take him on. Trainer Willie Mullins has stated on several occasions he is a tough horse to get right at the best of times so with doubts surrounding his fitness it will be an interesting build up to the Festival in March. Long Run on the other hand was a clear winner of the Gold Cup horse and with most of his main rivals seemingly past their best he looks a warm and justified favourite for the big race even at this early stage which makes this special an intriguing one for punters.

Betfred Cheltenham Festival 2012 Betting Specials

  • 10/1 – Hurricane Fly and Long Run Double To Win At the Cheltenham Festival
  • 5/1 – Paul Nicholls to train the winner of the 2012 Gold Cup
  • 5/1 – Irish trained horse to win the 2012 Gold Cup

SPL Betting: Red Card Specials With Paddy Power

December 23, 2011

St Mirren v RangersSaturday 24th December (Sky Sports 1, 12.45pm)
Celtic v RangersWednesday 28th December (Sky Sports 1, 7.45pm)

There is a feast of Scottish Premier League action this Christmas with the crunch clash between Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers the pick of the bunch. In recent weeks Celtic have managed to close the gap between themselves and league leaders Rangers and depending on results on Christmas Eve, a win against The Gers four days later could see them go top. However, both teams will be focusing  on their respective matches on Saturday, with Rangers travelling to St Mirren and Celtic hosting Kilmarnock. Paddy Power are running a money-back special onRangers’ matches against St Mirren and Celtic whereby if there’s a Red Card then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on that match.

Rangers are the odds-on 4/9 favourites for a home win against St Mirren, while The Saints have been handed long odds of 7/1. While Rangers head into the match on the back of three straight wins, St Mirren haven’t won in four matches. Rangers have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the sides, but perhaps crucially, St Mirren managed to hold Rangers at Ibrox earlier in the season, which will be a huge confidence booster. You never know, with home advantage this time round they may be able to spring an upset.

Rangers have been priced at 11/2 to come away with a 2-0 win, while a 1-1 draw could be a tempting bet at 13/2. The SPL’s top goalscorer Nikica Jelavic is the 3/1 favourite to open the scoring at St Mirren Park on Saturday and the striker has three goals in his last three games for Rangers making him well worth a punt. Kyle Lafferty can be backed at 7/2 to score first, while David Healy is priced at 5/1 and Kane Hemmings at 11/2. St Mirren’s Steven Thompson can be backed at 9/1 to be the First Goalscorer.

Rangers will then travel to fierce rivals Celtic on Wednesday 28th for the eagerly anticipated second Old Firm derby of the season. Celtic have been installed as the 11/10 favourites for the win, while Rangers can be backed at 5/2, with a draw priced at 5/2. Recent meetings have been close, with both teams winning twice in the last five matches. Rangers thumped Celtic 4-2 earlier in the season and they will be looking for a similar performance to inspire them to victory on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Celtic will be gunning for a vital win which, depending on results on Saturday, could propel them to top spot. At the very least it will prevent Rangers from extending their lead at the top of the table.

Sam Faiers The Early Celebrity Big Brother 2012 Favourite

December 22, 2011

Ever since Channel Five won the rights to Big Brother earlier this year they have really pushed the show with the latest edition of Celebrity Big Brother ready to hit our screens in the New Year. It will be second celebrity edition of the show on the Channel and predictably the early favourite is another member of the The Only Way Is Essex cast with Sam Faiers tipped to enter the house and claim the win. This comes after the relative success of the likes of Amy Childs who was also on BB and Mark Wright who also left Essex for the lure of reality TV to perform well in the jungle.

It has to be said that the final list of housemates is yet to be confirmed although the rumour that Sam Faiers is getting ready to enter the house is gathering momentum. Faiers is another popular member of the TOWIE cast and at this early stage is the 5/1 favourite with Boylesports win the show which could prove to be a good piece of value. It is however worth noting that while Amy Childs and Mark Wright have proven popular on reality TV, neither of them won their shows despite being the early favourites to do so which is a warning to fans of Sam Faiers.

Punters wanting to find more value further down the list may want to have a closer look at Chipmunk who if he enters the house is likely to prove a popular housemate with the younger Big Brother audience. The rapper has a number of big hits over the past 12 months and can be backed at a good looking 9/1 with Boylesports to claim the latest Celebrity Big Brother series. Channel Five will be eager to get one or two big names into the house this time around as they look to keep viewing figures up, this will be the third series of the show since August and only star names will ensure that viewers do not lose interest.

Celebrity Big Brother 2012 Win Odds with Boylesports

  • 5/1 – Sam Faiers
  • 6/1 – Denise Welch
  • 8/1 – Natalie Cassidy
  • 9/1 – Chipmunk
  • 10/1 – Frankie Cocozza
  • 10/1 – Freddie Starr

Tottenham v Chelsea Betting: Penalty Special With Paddy Power

December 22, 2011

Tottenham v ChelseaThursday 22nd December (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea do battle on Thursday in a Christmas cracker at White Hart Lane. Spurs are currently in third place, two points ahead of Chelsea who are in fourth, which means both teams will be gunning for a win in order to keep in tow with the dominant Manchester clubs at the top of the table. Paddy Power have handed Harry Redknapp’s odds of 13/8 for their eighth league win in nine games, while Chelsea are also available at 13/8 to come away with the three points, with a draw priced at 12/5

At the weekend Tottenham got back to winning ways with a narrow victory at home to Sunderland, while Chelsea’s recent revival was halted at Wigan after a rare Petr Cech error saw them drop two points. Neither side can afford to lose ground, especially after the Manchester clubs recorded convincing victories on Wednesday to extend their lead over the London clubs at the top of the table.

Since they were pummelled 5-1 in their opening home match of the season Spurs have strung together six straight wins at White Hart Lane, including wins against Liverpool and Arsenal. In addition they have hit the back of the net in every league home game so far. Spurs also have a decent recent record at home to Chelsea, winning three and drawing two of the last five meetings in North London. However, Tottenham and Chelsea matches are traditionally close encounters and this one is unlikely to be any different. Therefore, a draw could be the way to go at 12/5, with a 1-1 scoreline priced at 11/2. A Spurs win will see them go five points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand and they are available to record a 2-1 win at 8/1, while Chelsea are priced at 17/2 to win by the same score.

Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor, Rafael van der Vaart and Jermaine Defoe are all priced at 6/1 to be the First Goalscorer, while the club’s match winner against Sunderland, Roman Pavlyuchenko, who also scored the opener in the corresponding fixture last season, can be backed at 7/1. Didier Drogba is also priced at 6/1 to opent he scoring, while Daniel Sturridge, who opened the scoring against Wigan last Saturday, is available at 13/2 to score first. Providing he starts Frank Lampard may be a tempting bet at 8/1 to grab the game’s first goal. It is worth nothing that if a penalty is scored in this match Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles.

Wigan v Liverpool Betting Special With Ladbrokes

December 21, 2011

Wigan v LiverpoolWednesday 21st December (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

Wigan host Liverpool at the DW Stadium tonight liooking to continue their recent good form. Meanwhile, Liverpool will be gunning for a win that could take them into the top five. The Reds are the odds-on 1/2 favourites to come away with the win, while Wigan can be backed at 6/1, with a draw available at 3/1. Ladbrokes will refund losing match bets on the Premier League clash between Wigan and Liverpool if the Reds score first but fail to go on and win the match.

Liverpool will be confident of coming away with the three points having won five away games this season, including a 2-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday. Wigan have only registered the one win at home this campaign, which came way back on 27th August. However, their form has improved slightly in recent weeks, with just the one defeat in their last five matches. They have recorded confidence boosting victories at Sunderland and West Brom and also an impressive draw with Chelsea. However, their 4-0 home defeat to Arsenal at the start of December highlights their fragility, something Liverpool will be looking to exploit.

There has been little to choose between the two sides in recent meetings, with a win a piece and three draws. All three of those draws have ended 1-1, a result that ia available at 13/2 tonight. The Reds haven’t won at the DW Stadium since 2007 but they look far more ruthless on the road under Kenny Dalglish and could be a good bet at 6/1 to come away with a 2-0 win or 9/1 to win 2-1. Alternatively Wigan are available at 10/1 to win 1-0, as they did in 2010.

The controversial striker Luis Suarez is the 7/2 favourite to be the First Goalscorer of the match, while an in-form Craig Bellamy is priced at 6/1 to score the opener, as he did against Villa last weekend. Charlie Adam could be worth a punt at 7/1, with Maxi Rodgriguez is available at 8/1. Wigan’s Franco Di Santo, Hugo Rodallega and Conor Sammon are all priced at 8/1 to score the game’s first goal.

Match Betting

  • 6/1 – Wigan
  • 1/2 – Liverpool
  • 3/1 – Draw

Correct Score

  • 6/1 – Liverpool 1-0
  • 6/1 – Liverpool 2-0

BBC Sports Personality Of The Year 2011 Betting Specials

December 20, 2011

The biggest sports awards show of the year is happening this week with the 2011 BBC Sports Personality Of The Year taking place in Salford for the very first time. It has been a stellar year for British Sport and the betting markets surrounding the night are looking as competitive as ever with a number of top sportsmen being well backed. The warm favourite for the overall award is cyclist Mark Cavendish who has had a stunning year and is as short as 1/3 with Be365 to claim the famous trophy after becoming World Road Race Champion early this year for Britain.

The only real threat to Cavendish according to the latest show of betting is Open Champion Darren Clarke who famously lifted the Claret Jug at Sandwich back in July. The man from Northern Ireland is massively popular with sports fans as they have followed him through the ups and downs of a long career and that means he has to have a live chance in the SPOTY Betting. Punters wanting to back Darren Clarke to claim the BBC SPOTY award this year can get a price of 11/2 with Bet365.com which could prove to be a nice piece of value for golf fans.

The straight forecast betting for the Sports Personality Of The Year is also proving to be popular with punters having to decide the top two in the right order. A Mark Cavendish win with Darren Clarke in second is the most likely scenario and that is available at a good looking 6/4 with Bet365 to happen. The Straight forecast is always worth having a close look out when there is a hot favourite in the market and in Mark Cavendish that is exactly what we have here with the Manx cyclist in pole position for one of the most prestigious awards in the industry.

Blackburn v Bolton Betting: Yakubu 5/1 To Score First

December 19, 2011

Blackburn v Bolton - Tuesday 20th December (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)

Blackburn face fellow strugglers Bolton on Tuesday in a relegation dogfight at Ewood Park. The match, which pits together under fire managers Steve Kean and Owen Coyle, could prove to be pivotal in terms of the prospects of each club’s survival chances and the future of both managers. Rovers are the 11/10 favourites with Ladbrokes, while Bolton are available at 23/10, with a draw priced at 5/2.

Both Bolton and Blackburn have endured shocking starts to the season, with Bolton rock-bottom following five consecutive defeats and Rovers just one point above them in 19th. The Trotters slump in form has been alarming and they head into Tuesday’s eagerly anticipated encounter on the back of eight defeats from their last nine matches. Similarly Rovers are in the middle of a torrid run, with just one win since mid-September. Recent last gasp defeats to Sunderland and West Brom have piled even more pressure on Kean, who will surely be axed if Rovers are defeated.

Blackburn have got the better of Bolton in recent fixtures, winning six of the last nine meetings between the two sides. They won the corresponding fixture last season 1-0 and with so much at stake it is likely to be another closely fought contest this time around. With nine league goals to his name this season Yakubu looks like a good bet at 5/1 to open the scoring. The Nigerian recently blasted in four goals against Swansea and will be Rovers’ main threat going forward. His teammate David Goodwillie has been priced at 7/1 to score first, while Nick Blackman and Jordan Slew are available at 8/1. Bolton’s top scorer Ivan Klasnic may well be worth a punt at 6/1, while Kevin Davies and David Ngog have been priced at 7/1.

Miami Heat The NBA Favourites As New Season Finally Gets Underway

December 19, 2011

The best Christmas present this year for sports fans is the return of the NBA with the new season finally set to get underway after months of dispute. The NBA lock-out has seen the season compressed into 66 games much to the frustration of punters and fans but with the sport about to begin it could well be an exciting few months with a number of teams looking in a strong position. All eyes are on the Miami Heat who, led by Lebron James and Dwayne Wade, are expected to go close this season as they look to win the their first NBA Championship since 2006.

The bookmakers rate the Heat as the hot favourites this season with Paddy Power making them as short as 9/4 to claim the Championship and with their strong looking roster it is hard to argue with that assessment. Last season they went all the way to the NBA Finals before coming unstuck against the Dallas Mavericks but with Lebron James still as strong as ever most punters are expecting them to go one better this campaign.

There is no doubt that the Heat have a strong roster but they represent little value in the Championship market, punters may want to have a closer look at the Celtics who will be looking to add to their record haul of 17 Championships in 2012. They are the most successful team in NBA history and also look to have a strong roster this season with the likes of Kevin Garnett and Captain Paul Pierce still going strong despite their advancing years. Punters could do a lot worse than back the Boston Celtics this season and they are available at a good looking 16/1 with Paddy Power to claim an 18th Championship and their first since their 2008 triumph.

2012 NBA Championship Betting with Paddy Power

  • 9/4 – Miami Heat
  • 4/1 – LA Lakers
  • 7/1 – Chicago Bulls

Manchester City v Arsenal Betting: Mario Balotelli And Robin Van Persie Specials

December 16, 2011

Manchester City v ArsenalSunday 18th December (Sky Sports 1, 4pm)

Premier League leaders Manchester City face another big test this Sunday when they welcome a resurgent Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium. Recent results have seen City’s lead at the top cut to just two points and they could even find themselves in second spot at kick 0ff if rivals Manchester United beat QPR earlier in the day. In-form Arsenal have climbed up to fifth in the league following a decent run and they will be gunning for what would be a huge victory. Paddy Power have Man City as the odds-on 4/6 favourites, while Arsenal are available at 9/2 to be the first team to win at City this season, with a draw available at 13/5. If Mario Balotelli or Robin Van Persie score the last goal, then Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

Roberto Mancini will be looking for a response from his players following their first league defeat of the season at Chelsea last week. Man City have been extremely impressive at home this season, winning all seven league games, blasting in 24 goals in the process. Ruthless City have now taken a staggering 49 points from a possible 51 in their last 16 home games, and have won their last 12 in a row. Furthermore they have score 49 goals in 15 games of season, averaging over three goals a match.

Arsenal have admiringly bounced back from their shocking start to the season and now find themselves in fifth following a run of eight unbeaten league matches. Their turnaround has largely been thanks to the scintillating form of Robin Van Persie, who has now scored a remarkable 33 goals in 32 league games in 2011. The flying Dutchman is the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 15 this season and has 18 goals in his last 16 Premier League away appearances.

Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko can both be backed  at 9/2 to open the scoring on Sunday, while Mario Balotelli is available at 5/1 to open the scoring, as he did against Chelsea. Robin Van Persie looks a tempting bet at 11/2 to be the First Goalscorer, with fellow striker Marouane Chamakh has been priced at 10/1.  City are priced at 13/2 to win 2-1 or 10/1 to record a 3-1 victory. Arsenal stunned City 3-0 in this fixture last season but have long odds of 80/1 to record the same result this time round. Arsenal can be found at 13/1 to come away with a 2-1, while a 2-2 draw is priced at 11/1.
