Phil Taylor The Hot Favourite in World Darts Championship Betting for 2012
November 21, 2011
All eyes in the darting world are now turning towards the upcoming World Championships at the Alexandra Palace and there is no surprise to see Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor sitting comfortably at the head of the market. Taylor has proven to be the greatest dart player of all time over the past 20 years and were he to win again over the New Year it would be his 16th triumph at the biggest tournament of them all.
Taylor looks to be coming back to his very best form if his showing at the Grand Slam of Darts is anything to go by, he strolled through the tournament before demolishing Gary Anderson in the final and looked in ominous shape ahead of the world Championships. At the moment the bookmakers cant see past Taylor with Ladbrokes making him the 10/11 favourite at this stage to claim the victory in what is looking like a strong and competitive field. Adrian Lewis will go in as the defending champion after he beat Taylor in the process and Taylor will know that he will need to improve if he is to regain his title.
Another pretender to Taylor’s throne this year is the excellent James Wade who has been in and around the top five for a number of years now and will be looking to make the big breakthrough at Alexandra Palace this season. Wade has proven he can beat the best when he is in form but he has found it tough to string the performances together against the really top names at the World Championships. Wade could prove to be a bit of value in the betting at this stage and can be backed at 10/1 with Ladbrokes to claim his first world title. The PDC World Championships have gone from strength-to-strength over the past few years and Phil Taylor must take his fair share of credit for that, he is no longer the dominant force he used to be but he has shown that when he as it his best he is impossible to live with.

Tottenham v Aston Villa Betting – Darren Bent Money Back Offer
November 21, 2011
Tottenham v Aston Villa – Monday 21st November (Sky Sports 1, 8pm)
Harry Redknapp makes his return to the dugout tonight as his Tottenham side take on Aston Villa at White Hart Lane. The teams head into the match in contrasting form, with Spurs winning seven of their last eight league matches and Villa only recording two wins in nine. Ladbrokes have Spurs as the odds-on 1/2 favourites, while Villa are priced at 6/1, with a draw available at 3/1. If Darren Bent scores then Ladrokes will refund all losing first goalscorer bets.
Tottenham have made their best ever start to a Premier League season and confidence is rightly sky high. Since opening defeats to the two Manchester clubs Spurs have collected 22 points from a possible 24 to propel them up to fifth in the table. They are joined on the same points number as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal but crucially hold two games in hand over their rivals and a win tonight would send them third above Newcastle.
In 8th place in the table Villa look to have made a good start to the season under new manager Alex McLeish. However, the fixture list handed them a relatively favourable start and as a result they have an extremely difficult remainder of 2011, with matches against Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Stoke away. Villa have no wins on the road this season, recording four draws and a defeat and have only won once at White Hart Lane since 2000.
With six goals in his last seven league matches you can see why Rafael Van der Vaart is the 4/1 favourite to be the game’s First Goalscorer. The Dutchman is in scintillating form and scored in both matches against Villa last season. Emmanuel Adebayor is available at 9/2 to open the scoring while Jermain Defoe, who has three goals in his last four home league matches against tonight’s opponents, is priced at 5/1. However, with three goals in his last two league games in-form Gareth Bale looks like a good bet at 7/1 to score the first goal of the game. With five league goals to his name this season the former Spurs player Darren Bent can be backed at 8/1 to score first while teammate Gabriel Agbonlahor is available at 10/1.
Spurs won both meetings between the sides 2-1 last season and can be backed at 8/1 to win by the same scoreline tonight. Redknapp’s men have won 3-1 in each of their last two league matches and are priced at 10/1 to make it three in a row. They have also scored at least twice in each of their last eight league matches so expect a few goals tonight.

Jim Mallinder The Early Favourite In Next England Rugby Head Coach Betting
November 17, 2011
This week has finally seen an end to the reign of Martin Johnson as England Rugby Manager but already attention is turning to his potential successor with a number of top class coaches currently featuring in the betting. The man currently heading the market to replace Johnson is Jim Mallinder who has had a successful time as the Northampton Head Coach over recent years and on paper looks the obvious choice for the RFU. England have been in turmoil for some time now and their poor showing at the World Cup in New Zealand forced Johnson to resign leaving the next appointment absolutely crucial with the next World Cup taking place in England in 2015.
Mallinder had led Northampton to success recently and many feel he would be an ideal fit for the RFU as they look towards a successful World Cup in four years time, Mallinder can be backed at 2/1 with Ladbrokes to land the job and that looks good value. The bookmakers know that Mallinder would jump at the chance to lead England and that is reflected in the price at the moment, it is worth noting though that the RFU may well want a more experienced coach with Graham Henry also lurking dangerously in the betting having led his native New Zealand to glory recently.
Henry is perhaps the most experienced and best coach in world rugby and he has made no secret of the fact he is looking for one more challenge before retires although that may not necessarily come in a Head Coach role. Henry is being well backed nevertheless and is currently available at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.com to appointed the new England Head Coach, the RFU will have to speak to a man of Henry’s stature and it will be interesting to see what his next Rugby move will be. Whoever takes the role of England Head Coach will have a big job on their hands as they build towards the 2015 World cup, there is plenty of talent in England and the RFU have to get this appointment right.
Next England Rugby Union Head Coach Odds with Ladbrokes

Chelsea v Liverpool Betting – Fernando Torres Special
November 16, 2011
Chelsea v Liverpool – Sunday 20th November (Sky Sports 1, 4pm)
The pick of this weekend’s matches is the mouth-watering encounter between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. The match pits together the two shock buys of last January’s transfer window; Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll, with neither of whom setting the world alight since their big money moves. The spotlight will be on Torres as he takes to the field against his former side for the second time, with the first a largely anonymous performance which was ironically his debut for new club Chelsea back in February. Paddy Power are offering a cracking money-back special whereby if Fernando Torres scores a goal at ANYTIME in the match then they will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
Liverpool beat Chelsea both home and away last season and have won five of the last 10 league meetings between the sides. Raul Meireles scored the winner in the corresponding fixture last season but he has since switched from Red to Blue. Liverpool are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions and a win on Sunday will draw them level with Chelsea on 22 points. In contrast Chelsea’s form has stuttered of late with two defeats in their last three league matches has seen them fall to fourth, nine points behind leaders Manchester City. However, with home advantage they are the odds-on 4/5 favourites for the three points, while Liverpool are priced at 7/2. A draw is available at odds of 5/2.
Paddy Power have installed Chelsea’s Didier Drogba as the 4/1 favourite in the First Goalscorer betting market, with Fernando Torres available at 9/2. However, in-form Daniel Sturridge may be the way to go at 11/2 or even England’s match winning captain against Spain, Frank Lampard, at 6/1. Liverpool supporters may still be furious with the manner in which Torres left them but they now have a new Kop hero in Luis Suarez. The 24-year-old belted home four goals for his country against Chile during the international break and has been handed odds of 13/2 to open the scoring on Sunday, with Andy Carroll priced at 15/2.

Tiger Woods Major Golf Betting For 2012 Is Competitive With William Hill
November 16, 2011
Despite his spectacular loss of form over the past couple of years, Tiger Woods remains the biggest name in golf and punters are eager to follow the fortunes of the former world number 1 in 2012. Woods has not won a Major Championship since 2008, while he has not picked up any tournament win for over two years but he is still be well backed to add to his 14 Majors in 2012 with William Hill rating Woods as a 4/1 shot to win exactly one Major next season.
At his best Tiger Woods was virtually unbeatable in the big tournaments but his air of invincibility is no longer there as he has dropped outside the worlds top 50 recently, that would have been unthinkable a couple of years ago but he now faces a mammoth task to rejoin the games elite players. Woods has consistently struggled to put together four successive good rounds when it matters and his drought will continue if he fails to rectify that problem quickly. 2012 will be a massive year for Tiger as he bids to climb back up the world rankings but punters wanting to back him to continue his slump can get a price of 1/6 with William Hill about winning exactly no Majors next year.
Tiger does appear to have been free from injury for a little while now and that will stand him in good stead as we head into 2012 and towards the Masters at Augusta in April. Woods has won the Green Jacket on no less than four occasions and he will be desperate to make that number five in April, we know his game suits Augusta if he is at his best but he will need prove he can be accurate off the tea once again. Driving has been a problem for Woods during his slump and if rectifies that then the 16/1 with William Hill.com about him winning exactly two Majors in 2012 could prove to be a nice piece of value. Whatever has gone on around Woods over the past few yearshe remains the star of the game and many will be hoping he regain his best form as soon as possible with 2012 set to be apivitol year for one of the game sgreat players.

November 14, 2011
The UK Snooker Championship is just around the corner as the best players in the world get ready for the second biggest tournament in the game and at this stage the betting is looking as competitive as ever. Snooker has never been more open than it is at the moment but a familiar face can be found at the head of the market, Boylepsorts currently rank the four times Champion as the 6/1 favourite to lift the title in York.
There are a number of players fighting for favouritism behind The Rocket and they include the likes of Mark Selby, John Higgins, Mark Williams and Neil Robertson who are all more than capable of winning the tournament if they bring their A game. Mark Williams is of particular interest has he continues to play towards his best having shot back up the rankings over the past couple of years. Williams is a former World Number one as well as a double World Champion and punters can back the Welshman to win the UK Championships this year at a nice price of 15/2 with Boylesports to take his first UK Championship.
The hottest property in Snooker at the moment is young Judd Trump who continues to set the tour alight with a number of impressive performances and will be searching for his second ranking title in York after collecting the China Open last season. The highlight of Trump’s career so far saw him make it to the World Championship final last season and many expect him to be at the top of the game for many years to come, the man from Bristol can be backed at a good looking 14/1 with Boylesports.com to take the win. England v Sweden Best Prices With Ladbrokes
November 14, 2011
England v Spain – Tuesday 14th November (ITV1, 20:00pm)
England go into Tuesday night’s match against Sweden at Wembley Stadium on a high after their confidence boosting win against the World and European Champion Spain. Despite being under heavy pressure for the majority of the match a new-look England clung onto their 1-0 lead. Fabio Capello is likely to make further changes to his starting line-up against Sweden who have long been England’s bogey team, with no wins for the Three Lions in any of the last 12 meetings between the sides. England are priced at 4/5 to win their second match in four days, while Sweden can be backed at 4/1 to come away with the win, while a draw is available at 11/5.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have the best prices available on all correct scores, half-time/full-time and first goalscorer selections for the clash. Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has been installed as the 6/1 favourite in the First Goalscorer odds while fellow strikers Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Bobby Zamora can all be backed at 8/1. Frank Lampard, who scored the only goal of the game against Spain, is available at 10/1 to again score first while the returning captain John Terry has been handed odds of 25/1. Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic is priced at 8/1 to open the scoring while his teammates Alexander Gerndt and Ola Toivonen are both available at 11/1.
If recent results between the sides are anything to go by then this match will most likely end in a draw. The honours have been even in four of the last five matches between the sides, with the last meeting an entertaining 2-2 draw at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. A repeat scoreline this time round can be backed at 18/1 while a 1-1 draw is 13/2 with Ladbrokes. England are available at 6/1 to clinch another 1-0 win and 8/1 to win 2-1. England v Spain Betting – England Win Money-Back Special
November 11, 2011
England will begin their build-up to the European Championships next summer with a match against the current World and European Champions Spain at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Fabio Capello has opted for a relatively inexperienced squad, which includes 11 players with just six caps or less. The match will provide both the young and fringe players with an excellent chance to not only prove themselves to Capello but see how they fair against some of the best players in the world. Spain are the 5/6 favourites to come away with the win, with England’s new look side at 7/2 and a draw at 12/5. If England win, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
The match was in danger of being overshadowed by the poppy controversy but it has now been settled with the England players wearing black armbands embroidered with a poppy to mark Remembrance Day. Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Micah Richards and Andy Carroll are not included in the squad which means other players have a chance to shine, especially Darren Bent who has an excellent opportunity to make an impression in Rooney’s absence. The Aston Villa striker has four goals in his last five games for England and can be backed at 15/2 to open the scoring. Also looking to make an impact is the in-form Daniel Sturridge who is priced at 8/1 to be the First Goalscorer and skipper Frank Lampard who is available at 12/1 to score first on his return to the team.
Spain are likely to field a star-studded line-up with the likes of David Villa, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Fernando Torres all expected to play some part in the match. Villa, who has 50 international goals to his name, has been installed as the 9/2 favourite to open the scoring on Saturday, while his strike partner Fernando Torres is priced at 6/1 to score first against England. Other names to watch out for include David Silva and Cesc Fabregas at 8/1.
Due to their players, form and experience it is difficult not to see Spain winning this match. The England squad includes very few big game players but England’s young guns will hopefully play with no fear which means there may be a few surprises in store for Spain. Spain look good at 7/1 to come away with a 2-1 win or 3-1 scoreline at 14/1. England are priced at 14/1 to win 2-1, with a 1-1 draw available at 11/2.

Long Run Evens For King George Chase After Initial Entries Announced
November 10, 2011
The initial entries for King George Chase at Kempton have been announced and there is no surprise to see Long Run the hot favourite to win the race for the second consecutive year. The Nicky Henderson horse had a wonderful campaign last year in winning the King George and the Gold Cup at Cheltenham and many believe he will do the same double this season with the bookmakers believing he will have too much for the field at Kempton on Boxing Day. At the first stage of declarations we have 24 entries for one of the most prestigious races of the season and outside of Long Run we also have a number of interesting contenders who will be hoping to mix it with the favourite at Christmas.
Long Run realised his potential last season on the King George when he routed a top class field at just six he is probably still improving which is a scary thought for his rivals. At the moment Long Run is the Evens favourite with Boylesports to claim the win at Kempton and at the moment it is hard to argue with that assessment as we look for challengers to his crown. One that punters hope will take Long Run on is the great Kauto Star who may take his chance at Kempton for the last time, the Paul Nicholls horse is a four-time winner of the race and although he is clearly past his best he may still have one big run left in him.
Another interesting potential King George runner on Boxing Day is the excellent Master Minded who this season is being stepped up in trip for the first time. The dual Champion Chaser is as classy as any horse out there and if he puts his best foot forward could be a major player on Boxing Day, at the moment Master Minded can be backed at 10/1 with Boylesports to take the win and that could prove to be an interesting price. The King George is without doubt the most prestigious chase of the season outside of the Gold Cup and falling as it does on Boxing Day it really is one of the highlights of the racing calendar. There will be a massive crowd at Kempton for the while the betting turnover will also be substantial and most of that attention will be firmly on the current champ, Long Run.
