Stoke v Man Utd Betting – Paddy Power Money-Back Special
September 22, 2011
Stoke v Manchester United – Saturday 24th September, ESPN (17.30pm)
Stoke take on Manchester United at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday in what could represent United’s toughest challenge so far this season. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men may have won all their previous Premier League visits to the Britannia but Tony Pulis has moulded together a decent squad who are a strong unit at home. Paddy Power are offering a good value Money-Back Special whereby if Wayne Rooney scores two or more goals, then they will refund all losing First/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.
Man Utd have been virtually unplayable so far this season, amassing 21 goals in their opening five matches as they’ve cruised past their supposed rivals, with crushing wins against Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea. The prolific Wayne Rooney is already one goal away from hitting double figures in what has been an astonishing season and he is 7/2 to score the games first goal. Javier Hernandez is also priced at 7/2 although he is doubtful to start which could give either Dimitar Berbatov (11/2) or Michael Owen (6/1) an opportunity to make an impression. Ashley Young has been handed odds of 15/2 to open the scoring while Nani, who scored a scorching goal against Chelsea, is available at 7/1.
Stoke will be looking to bounce back from their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Sunderland last weekend. Peter Crouch is priced at 9/1 to score first, with both Kenwyne Jones and Jonathan Walters available at 10/1. We fully expect Man Utd to continue their 100% start to the season but that is not to say Stoke won’t make it difficult. Apart from their blip last weekend Stoke have started the season strongly and have kept three clean sheets so far. Whether their usually resolute defence can hold off the might of Rooney and co is another matter, and if the floodgates open early it could be a question of how many, with United priced at 5/1 to score four or more goals.

England v West Indies Twenty20 Betting – Top Batsman Odds
September 21, 2011

The first of which is on Friday 23rd September while the second is two days later on Sunday 25th. Amelia Lily Being Backed In Tight X Factor Betting As Auditions Come To A Close
September 21, 2011
The audition stage for the 2011 X Factor series has finally come to an end and we can now start to get a real sense of the acts who are likely to be featuring on the live shows, there have been a number of stand out acts so far with the girls category looking particularly strong at this stage. One girl who has jumped towards the head of the Outright Winner betting recently is young Amelia Lily who was highly impressive when auditioning, Lily can be backed at 6/1 with Boylesports to go all the way and win the competition and she looks to have every chance of developing into a top recording artist.
Lily impressed the judges and she is now fighting it out with Janet Devlin for X Factor favouritism with the bookmakers, Devlin impressed the judges during the first week of auditions and her unique style is sure to see her become a popular performer during the live stages. Devlin was installed as the favourite a few weeks back and she continues to hold that position with Boylesports and is currently priced at 5/1, much will depend on how she handles the pressure of the live shows but the signs are that she will be the one to beat and all the judges will be keen to have her in their category.
The girls category certainly seems to be the strongest one at the moment with Jade Richards another major contender to consider according to the latest show of betting, it would be no surprise to see her join Devlin and Lily as the three girls to go forward to the love shows and she looks capable of holding her own The down to earth Scot wowed the judges during her audition and she could have the edgy sound that might set her apart from the field, at the moment Boylesports rate her as a 8/1 chance to go all the way and that could prove to be a nice piece of value. The judges will be keeping their fingers crossed as they wait to hear which category they will be given to mentor but at this stage it looks as though the girls have it sown up with three potential winners emerging after the audition stage and it will be fascinating to see which of them pushes on towards X Factor success.

Andy Murray 2012 Grand Slam Specials – William Hill
September 20, 2011
2011 has been Andy Murray’s best Grand Slam year. Granted, his pursuit of that elusive Grand Slam continues but, in each of the Slams this year he has reached at least the semi-final stage which in itself a fantastic achievement. It is just unfortunate that in three of the Slams he came up against Rafael Nadal and in the other he lost out to the electric Novak Djokovic. At present he may still be agonisingly short of the exceptionally high levels of Djokovic, Nadal and Roger Federer but he is closer than everybody else and definitely has the game to trouble the big three. William Hill are currently running a few early 2012 Andy Murray Grand Slam Specials so place your bets now before the odds shorten next year.
Murray will be fully confident that 2012 is the year he finally breaks his Grand Slam duck. He is currently priced at 6/4 to win one next year and 14/1 to win two. In order to do so it is crucial that he remains positive when under pressure against the likes of Nadal. Murray’s mental strength has often been questioned and in order to up his game it is essential that he has the right mindset and belief during the big matches.
In terms of the year of Murray’s potential first Grand Slam win, he is currently priced at 7/4 to win it in 2012, 5/1 in 2013, 8/1 in 2014 and long odds of 25/1 in 2015. 2012 is the year for Murray to step up and get his name on one of the famous trophies. First up will be the Australian Open, which is a tournament Murray has reached back-to-back finals in, only to come unstuck against the brilliance of Federer in 2010 and Djokovic earlier this year. No one could have predicted the sensational year Djokovic has had but it is something Murray can draw inspiration from as they were playing at the same level at this time last year. The determined Scot will have every hope of going one step better this year and finally ending Great Britain’s long wait for a Grand Slam winner.

Carling Cup Third Round Betting – Bet365 Money-Back Special
September 19, 2011
The Carling Cup Third Round is already upon us as the remaining Premier League teams decide its time to join the party. Bet365 are offering a great money-back special whereby if you place a pre-match Correct Score, Half-time/Full-time or Scorecast Bet on any match and it finishes 0-0 then they will refund all losing Bets on those markets.
The tie of the round comes at Elland Road where Championship side Leeds face their old rivals Manchester United in what promises to be a cracking game. They may not be in the same league but the rivalry is still as hot as ever and Leeds fans would love nothing more than to inflict United’s first defeat of the season. Sir Alex Ferguson will be weary of leaving out too many of his most prized possessions as he will vividly recall United’s shock FA Cup Third Round defeat to Leeds in 2010. Man Utd are the 1/2 favourites to win the match, while Leeds are priced at 5/1, with a draw available at 10/3.
Elsewhere Championship high-flyers Brighton host Liverpool at the Falmer Stadium. Brighton may have suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday but the thought of beating Liverpool will motivate the players to bounce back in style, whereas Kenny Dalglish will consider the League Cup a priority as he aims to win his first trophy with the club since his return earlier this year. Liverpool are the odds on 4/6 favourites to come away with the win, while Brighton are 4/1 for an upset, with a draw at 11/4.
Man Utd and Man City remain the 5/1 favourites to win the 2011/12 Carling Cup, with Chelsea priced at 11/2. Liverpool can be found with odds of 13/2, while Arsenal are available at 9/1 and Tottenham at 12/1. Last year’s winners Birmingham are huge outsiders at 150/1.
Carling Cup Outright Odds
- 5/1 – Man City
- 5/1 – Man Utd
- 11/2 – Chelsea
- 13/2 – Liverpool
- 9/1 – Arsenal
- 12/1 – Tottenham
- 18/1 – Aston Villa

Warrington Wolves The Odds On Favourites In Super League Grand Final Winner Betting
September 19, 2011
Ever since the first Rugby Super League took place back in 1998 the Grand Final has been dominated by just four teams, the Championship has been won by either Wigan, Bradford, St Helens or Leeds but that monopoly could be about to be broken with the emergence of the 2011 Warrington Wolves side. The Wolves led by Tony Smith are fresh off of claiming the League leaders Shield and they now go into the all important play-offs as the odds on favourites to claim the Grand Final at Old Trafford in October. it would be a remarkable achievement for the team if they were to wrestle the Super League crown off of of their more illustrious neighbours in Yorkshire and Lancashire but at this stage that looks to be a very real possibility.
Warrington claimed the League Leaders shield after they thrashed the more fancied Wigan Warriors recently, it was a mightily impressive performance from Warrington and following that they go into the play-offs as the 4/7 favourites with Ladbrokes to claim their first Grand Final. That looks a short enough price but Warrington have shown their consistency and power all season which makes them the team to beat with Wigan the team most likely to meet them at Old Trafford as they look to defend the Championship they won in 2010. Wigan seem to be struggling at the moment which has seen their price drift but they remain the second favourites in the Grand Final betting and can be backed at 11/4 with Ladbrokes to claim back-to-back championships.
Perhaps the team to watch in the betting outside of the big two are St Helens who seem to be hitting form at just the right time, the Saints always have a strong team and it would be no surprise to see them reach Rugby League’s showpiece match once again next month. St Helens have been a little inconsistent this season but that will matter for little if they reach the Grand Final with the best team on the day the ones who pick up the trophy, the Saints could well prove to be the value here and are available at a nice looking 5/1 with Ladbrokes to claim another title. It does have to be said that Warrington are the team to beat this season and that is reflected in the latest betting, the Wolves have already picked up the League Leaders Shield and it would be a great story if they could add the Grand Final to that success.
Super League Grand Final Betting 2011 with Ladbrokes
- 4/7 – Warrington Wolves
- 11/4 – Wigan
- 5/1 – St Helens
- 14/1 – Leeds Rhinos
- 25/1 – Catalans
- 50/1 – Huddersfield Giants

To Make 2012 European Ryder Cup Team Betting Looking Tight As Qualification Starts
September 16, 2011
We maybe a year away from the 2012 Ryder Cup taking place but attention is already starting to turn to who will make the team in Europe after the qualification period started recently. The top five players between now and the 2012 Johnnie Walker Classic at Gleneagles on the European Points list will be joined by the top five players not already qualified on the World Points List as the European Ryder Cup team in Medinah. The European Captain for Medinah is Jose Maria Olazabal and he will have two wild card picks to add to that list as he bids to lead the defence of the Cup the Europeans won so memorably at Celtic Manor last year, he and his players are the favourites to win the Cup in the US but first the players will have to make sure they make the cut for the team.
There is a competitive betting market available for punters regarding which players will make the team and there are a number of players who are almost definitely going to be in Medinah according to Skybet. Perhaps the two most important players for Europe next year will be the massively experienced Lee Westwood and the current US Open Champion Rory McIlroy, both of them will be in the team barring injuries and SkyBet make them 1/33 shots to do just that. As well as Mcilroy and Westwood the betting is telling us that the likes of Luke Donald, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter are likely to be in Chicago next year, they will make up the nucleus of a strong and experienced European team for Olazabal in 2012.
The market about who will make the European team really starts to come alive as you look further down the list of potential players and there are some interesting names to have a closer look at. One name that stands out on the list is that of Sergio Garcia, he was a Ryder Cup stalwart for many years before a loss in form saw him miss out in 2010 and it will be interesting to see if he can realise his dream and regain his place in 2012. Garcia is a massively popular player on and off the course and his recent performances have been encouraging, Garcia is currently available at 7/4 with Skybet.com to make the team for Medinah. European golf is going through a massive boom at the moment and that is backed up by the list of top quality players looking to make the Ryder Cup team, there will be some world class names who will miss out in 2012 and everyone will be aiming to make sure that does not happen to them.

Man Utd v Chelsea Betting – Free In-Play Bet With Bet365
September 15, 2011
Man Utd v Chelsea – Sunday 18th September (Sky Sports 1, 16.00pm)
With nearly all of the attention on the two Manchester clubs this season it’s been easy to forget that there is actually a third team in the running for the Premier League title and they are not to be taken lightly. Chelsea, will no doubt prefer it this way, as they quietly get on with their business while the Manchester rivals hog the spotlight. The heavyweight encounter on Sunday between the league leaders United and third place Chelsea could give one of the teams an early mental advantage, so a lot is at stake. United are the odds on 5/6 favourites to record what would be their fifth straight league win of the season, while Chelsea are priced at 7/2 to come away with the three points, with a draw available at 5/2.
Place a pre-match bet on the match and Bet365 will give you a Free Bet In-play to the same stake on the big game. Simply place a bet before kick-off, then once the game starts place another bet on any in-play market. If your first in-play bet loses then Bet365 will refund this stake up to the value of your largest pre-match bet.
The blockbuster match pits together two strikers in contrasting form. While the scintillating Wayne Rooney is searching for an unprecedented third consecutive league hat-trick, Fernando Torres is still trying to score that elusive first goal of the season. Rooney is the 15/4 favourite to score the games first goal and 22/1 to score three or more goals. His team mate and partner in crime Javie Hernandez is priced at 9/2 while the in-form Ashley Young is certainly worth a punt at 9/1. Torres is available at 7/1 to open the scoring but at 9/1 Daniel Sturridge looks a better bet. Frank Lampard has been handed odds of 11/1.
The matches between these two sides are traditionally quite tight but such is the magnificent goal scoring form United are in it could end up being packed with goals. However, unlike Arsenal who conceded eight goals at Old Trafford, Chelsea have a resolute defence. We think Man Utd will just about edge it, with a score of 2-1 priced at 15/2.

Jay McKray Early Favourite In Big Brother 2011 Betting
September 15, 2011
Following the relative success of Celebrity Big Brother the real Big Brother has now made a return to the spotlight. The ratings may be substantially lower compared to the surge experienced by the celebrity version, but from a betting perspective the show is always intriguing, so check out the odds with bookmakers William Hill to see who is shining early on.
Geordie Jay McKray has emerged as the 7/2 favourite with William Hill to win the revamped show. The perma-tanned gym-loving 27-year-old is proving to be a popular choice in the betting and is the early frontrunner in the new-look Channel 5 show. He is closely followed by sales assistant Mark Henderson with odds of 4/1 and then contract manager Aaron Allard-Morgan and female boxer Faye Palmer who are both priced at 6/1.
In contrast it appears that Tashie Jackson at 66/1 and Heaven Africa at 50/1 have not been a hit so far. Tashie could be on her way out this week as she is joined by Aaron and Harry Blake for the first eviction this Friday. Tashie is the 4/9 favourite to suffer the embarrassment of being the first housemate to leave while Harry is priced at 7/4 and Aaron the outsider at 25/1.
The odds will fluctuate throughout the duration of the show and who is to say there won’t be a surprise winner. We recently saw Paddy Doherty, the star of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, crowned as the shock winner of Celebrity Big Brother when Jedward were the overwhelming favourites.
