Laura Robson Tennis Betting Specials with William Hill
September 30, 2011
Laura Robson is one of the rising stars of British tennis. The talented teenager is expected to make her mark in the women’s game in the next few years after bursting onto the scene in 2008 when, aged just 14, she won the Wimbledon Junior Girls’ Championship. The 17-year-old has since proved she can go toe-to-toe with the big guns following an impressive performance in her defeat to Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon in June. She certainly has a promising future in the sport and is definitely one to watch in the coming years, with bookmakers William Hill offering some cracking Tennis Specials for you to get involved in.
The London Olympics are just around the corner and the excitement and expectation is soon going to hit fever pitch as we grow ever closer to the biggest sporting event in the world. The 2012 Olympics will most likely come too soon for Robson but you never know she could be spurred on by a partisan crowd and win gold, with William Hill making her available at 150/1 to do so. Realistically Robson’s time will come later on this decade and William Hill have her priced at 3/1 to enter the top 10 by the end of 2020 and 6/1 to have won a singles Grand Slam by the same time.
The lethal left hander has been praised with having all the attributes needed to make the step up but for now must put her head down and work hard on her weakest areas. And if she does this expect her name to be in lights in the future. British fans would love nothing more than a Wimbledon champion, with Robson currently priced at 10/1 to win Wimbledon on or before 2020, and in the process become Britain’s first Wimbledon champion since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Laura Robson Specials
- 3/1 – Laura Robson To Enter The Top 10 By End Of 2020
- 6/1 – Laura Robson To Win A Singles Grand Slam By End Of 2020

This weekend fans are in store for an absolute treat with three spicy Premier League derby matches: Everton v Liverpool, Tottenham v Arsenal and Fulham v QPR. They all promise to be feisty affairs with heightened drama and passion, and you can get involved in the action courtesy of some tasty Money-Back Specials with bookmakers Paddy Power.
The eagerly anticipated first Merseyside derby of the season takes place on Saturday at Goodison Park. Everton are available at 15/8 to grab the three points while Liverpool are priced at 6/4 to come away with the win, with a draw 11/5. If Luis Suarez or Marouane Fellaini score the last goal in this game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First and Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match. Suarez has looked very sharp so far this season and can be found at 5/1 to open the scoring.
Emmanuel Adebayor has been in cracking form since his return to the Premier League and who would bet against him scoring against his former club Arsenal on Sunday in the North London Derby. If Adebayor does in fact score, Paddy Power will refund all losing First and Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match. Harry Redknapp’s men are priced as the 23/20 favourites with Paddy Power, with an Arsenal win available at 9/4 and a draw at 5/2. This fixture is usually a goal fest, typified by the last match between the two sides which was a 3-3 thriller, and with the shakiness of the Arsenal defence we expect there to be a few more goals this time round.
Also on Sunday is the West London derby between Fulham and QPR which will have extra spice as the two club’s haven’t played each other for ten years. If DJ Campbell or Bobby Zamora score the last goal in this game, then bookmakers Paddy Power will refund all losing First and Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.
Tottenham v Arsenal Match Specials
- 17/2 – Tottenham to score 4 or more goals
- 25/1 – Emmanuel Adebayor to score first and Tottenham to win 2-1

Presidents Cup Betting Shows The USA With A Slight Edge Over International Team
September 29, 2011
The Presidents Cup in golf may not hold the same prestige as the Ryder Cup but it does remain an important tournament on the calendar as the USA Team get ready to take on a team of players from outside of Europe. The Presidents Cup has been dominated by the United States side since it was first held in 1994 with the International Team only picking up the win once in 1998 and it is the US Team who are the warm favourites to win again this season with the matches taking place in Melbourne in November. It gives the US Team a great warm up to the Ryder Cup next year and captain Fred Couples has a strong team at his disposal including Tiger Woods who has been awarded a wild card for the tournament, they will head down under as the warm favourites to take the win.
Fred Couples is a well respected player on the US Tour and he will be leading the side for the second time having led them to success two years ago in San Francisco, the bookmaker Boylesports make the US Team the hot favourites to win the matches and they can be backed at 8/13 to claim the Presidents cup Outright in Melbourne. All eyes will be on the form of Tiger Woods who has continued to slip down the rankings over the past few months and he will be looking to regain his best form in Australia, Woods does have a good record in the Presidents Cup and he will be hoping the tournament will kick start his flagging career.
The International Team take the Presidents Cup very seriously and although they don’t have a great record in the tournament they will be hopeful of improving that record this year, Captain Greg Norman looks to have a strong team this time around and they are sure to be competitive in Australia. Norman will be looking to the Aussie contingent in his team to lead from the front with Jason Day, Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy some of the star names on the International squad for Melbourne. If they and others perform well they could run the US Team close and that is reflected in their latest price of 6/5 with Boylesports to claim their first win since 1998. The Presidents Cup is a growing event on the golfing calendar and there seems to plenty of media attention on the tournament this season which can only be a good thing, there is no doubt he US Team looks stronger on paper but we feel it could prove to a little bit tighter than the previous few years.

Janet Devlin Hot Favourite As X Factor Goes Into Judges’ Houses
September 27, 2011
The 31 remaining acts have cruised through the first auditions and survived the brutal boot camps but now they must experience the nerve racking process of judges houses in order to progress through to the live shows. William Hill have a number of X Factor related betting markets available so why not take advantage of some great value odds before the popular show goes into the live finals.
This year’s betting is currently dominated by the Female artists, which will please judge Kelly Rowland who has been picked to mentor the category. Kelly has flown the lucky ladies out to her crib in Miami as they battle it out for the chance to claim their spot in the live shows. Janet Devlin is the hot early favourite to win X Factor, with odds of 11/4 with William Hill. The Northern Irish songstress wowed the judges with her rendition of ‘Your Song’ by Elton John in the first round before breezing through boot camp and is almost certain to cruise through the judges’ houses. Next in the running is Amelia Lily with odds of 5/1, while Melanie McCabe is priced at 8/1. Jade Richards is definitely one to watch at 9/1.
Gary Barlow was ecstatic when he found out that he was mentoring the Male category but knows that he has a number of tough decisions to make when deciding who to put through to the live shows. James Michael is currently priced at 8/1 to win this year’s show, making him the highest ranked male in the betting. Marcas Collins follows at 9/1, while ladies man Frankie Cocozza looks a good bet at 12/1. Barlow is currently second favourite to finish as the Winning Manager, with odds of 2/1.
N Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos was equally as excited when she discovered that she was mentoring the Groups in her first series as a judge. The recently assembled Nu Vibe are the highest ranked group in the betting with odds of 12/1, with The Risk available at 14/1. Tulisa is currently 5/1 in the Winning Manager market.
Louis Walsh, the only remaining judge from the previous series, has been given the Over 28s and will be as confident as ever of leading one of them to victory. However, with odds of 7/1 he is currently the outsider in the Winning Manager betting market and the odds on 5/6 favourite in the First Manager Out betting. Paul Nicholls The Slight Favourite In National Hunt Champion Trainer Betting
September 27, 2011
Paul Nicholls has dominated the National Hunt scene in the UK over the past few years with four Champion Trainer titles to his name, he has produced countless Grade 1 winners during that time and he will be hoping to continue that form this season with the winter fast approaching. Nicholls is the favourite to win a fifth title this season but he faces an almighty challenge from Nicky Henderson in what could be a classic tussle between the two biggest jumps trainers in the game, at this stage Bet365 do rate Nicholls as the favourite but he is by no means the sure thing he has been in recent years.
The Champion Trainer title is awarded to the trainer whose horses garner the most prize money each season so any trainer who has success in the biggest races of the season will go close. Nicholls has relied heavily on the likes of Kauto Star and Denman who have won multiple Gold Cups, King George Chases and Hennessy Gold Cups between them over the past five years but their powers are clearly on the wain leaving the door open for Henderson. At the moment Paul Nicholls remains the favourite to claim the Championship and he can be backed at 8/13 with Bet365, he will be hoping some of his younger horses like Supreme Novices Hurdle winner Al Ferof and Triumph Hurdle winner Zarkandar will be able to continue their progression over the winter and fill theb gap left by his more established stars.
Nicky Henderson has been having more and more success over the past couple of years with the likes of Binocular and Long Run the stable stars at his Seven Barrows outfit, he will be targeting the title this year with a first class string and he looks a genuine contender in the latest show of betting. Henderson will be targeting the King George on Boxing Day and the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival with Long Run after the horse did the prestigious double last season, if the horse can repeat that trick this season he will be on course for a big tilt at the trainers title. At the moment Henderson is an attractive looking 6/4 with Bet365 to claim his third Champion Trainers title in what could be a brilliant tussle between himself and Nicholls, Henderson will also be looking towards the likes Spirit Son and Sprinter Sacre who showed plenty of potential last season t support his stable stars if he is to run the current champion close.

Champions League Betting – Valencia v Chelsea Money-Back Special
September 26, 2011
Valencia v Chelsea – Wednesday 28th September, ITV (7.45pm)
Chelsea face a tricky encounter with Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium on Wednesday in their second Champions League Group E match. Chelsea may be the 7/5 favourites to win the game but they will certainly be made to work for the three points. At 2/1 Valencia represent good value and with home advantage they will be difficult to beat. Paddy Power have a fantastic Money-Back Special available for the match whereby if there are more than four goals in the game, Paddy Power will refund all losing First/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.
Fernando Torres has two goals in his last two league games and will no doubt be eager to bounce back following his sending off against Swansea City. The Spaniard has had a mixed season so far but is still the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring. His strike partner Didier Drogba marked his return to action with a neat goal at the weekend and can be found with odds of 11/2 to score the first goal on Wednesday, while the former Valencia midfielder Juan Mata is available at 8/1. Valencia’s Roberto Soldado is priced at 11/2 to open the scoring while Aritz Aduriz is available at 7/1.
Chelsea have lost just one of the last seven away games in Europe and in four Champions League meetings with Valencia they are yet to experience defeat, winning two and drawing two. Furthermore Chelsea have won both of their last two visits to the Mestalla by a 2-1 scoreline and are priced at 8/1 to come away with the same result. We think it will be a tight game, with both teams likely to settle for a share of the points, with a 1-1 draw looking a favourable result at odds of 5/1.

Mark Cavendish Slashed In Sports Personality Of The Year Betting After World Championship Win
September 26, 2011
It has been a stellar year for British sports stars so far in 2011 and we have another genuine contender to consider in the sports Personality Of The Year Betting, this follow the brilliant success of Mark Cavendish who has recently become the World Road Race Cycling Champion. No British man had won the Rainbow Jersey in Cycling since 1965 but Sprinter Cavendish put an end to that drought with a remarkable win in Copenhagen to continue a dream year for the Manx man and as a result he has been slashed in the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year Betting with Ladbrokes.
The world Championship in cycling is one of the highest honours within the sport outside of the Tour de France with the vast majority of cyclists placing the Championships ahead of the Olympics in terms of prestige which puts into perspective the achievement of Cavendish, it is also worth noting that he already has the Green Jersey from the Tour de France in the bag in 2011 and that with the Rainbow Jersey make him an outstanding SPOTY candidate. The bookmakers were quick to react after his World Championship win and Ladbrokes now rate him as the 4/1 second favourite to follow AP McCoy and win the Sports Personality Of The Year in December.
The favourite remains Darren Clarke who of course won the open Championship at Sandwich back in July, at the time he looked a sure thing in the Sports Personality Betting but while he remains the favourite there have been a number of strong challengers to emerge over the last couple of months. Along with Cavendish another man to put in a late bid this year is Mo Farah who was the brilliant winner of the 5000 metres in the Athletics World Championships recently, he is the first British man to win a long distance Gold Medal at world level and is available at 5/1 with Ladbrokes to win the prestigious award. As well as the big three mentioned there are also the likes of US Open Champion Rory McIlroy and 400m Hurdle World Champion Dai Greene to consider in what looks the hottest list in recent memory which is sure to attract plenty of interest.

Fernando Alonso Favourite In Drivers Championship Without Sebastian Vettel Betting
September 23, 2011
The Drivers Championship may effectively be over but there is still an intriguing Drivers Championship Without Sebastian Vettel betting market which could go right down to the wire. Fernando Alonso is the current 15/8 favourite with William Hill. The Spaniard still has extremely slim hopes of beating SebastianVettel in the actual Drivers Championship but realistically he will have to fight it out for second spot. Vettel’s Red Bull teammate Mark Webber is also in the hunt with odds of 11/4 while Lewis Hamilton is priced at 13/5, with his McLaren racing partner Jenson Button available at 10/3.
On Sunday the racers will line-up for the Singapore Grand Prix in what promises to be an exciting race. As always Vettel will go into the race as the clear favourite. The German has simply been outstanding this season and a win in Singapore could possibly secure him his second F1 World Championship. Such is his dominance that he currently has a massive 112 point lead at the top of the standings, which is sure to increase if his excellent form continues.
Alonso will be confident of winning only his second race of the season after being victorious in Singapore twice in the past three years. Hamilton also won here back in 2009 and will be looking to boost his points tally and restore some pride after recent disappointments.

So You Think Cut In Arc De Triomphe Betting After Being Confirmed For Longchamp
September 23, 2011
So You Think has been one of the best and most interesting horses of the 2011 flat season in Europe and he could be about to add another chapter to that story with a run in Arc De Triomphe at Longchamp. The Arc is Europe’s premier flat race of the season for all age horses and after weeks of speculation it has been confirmed that the dual Cox Plate winner will head to Longchamp in what is now shaping up to be a classic renewal of the race. The general consensus is that So You Think is best over eight or ten furlongs but Aidan O’Brien believes he will have no problems getting the 12 furlong trip of the Arc, he clearly has all the class in the world and he will be an interesting runner in the betting over the next few days.
There were a number of possible end of season targets for So You Think but the Arc has now been chosen as his target and he has been cut in the betting as a result, the former Australian star is now available at 5/1 with Paddy Power to add another Group 1 win to his already impressive haul. Perhaps the most important piece of So You Think form in relation to the Arc this season came at Sandown when he won the Coral Eclipse in July, he held off a charge to beat 2010 Arc winner Workforce over 1m 2f and it will be fascinating to see how the pair fair when they rematch over two furlongs further at Longchamp.
It is looking like a competitive arc this year with the fillie Sarafina currently holding off So You Think for favouritism while we also have 2010 winner Workforce being backed at a nice price after an indifferent season for the Sir Michael Stoute trained star. One that we like that could run a big race at Longchamp is King George winner Nathaniel who has been a highly progressive horse this season for John Gosden, he beat a badly hanging Workforce at Ascot last time out and can now be backed at 5/1 with Paddy Power.com to complete a dream campaign and win the Arc. It is worth noting that Nathaniel will prefer the ground to be on the softer side of good if he is to take his chance so potential punters will need to keep a close eye on the weather in Paris in the build up to the big race.
Latest Arc De Triomphe Odds with Paddy Power
