New England Patriots Head Superbowl Betting As New NFL Season Gets Underway

August 31, 2011

The new NFL season for 2011/12 is set to get underway and as usual there is a frenzy of betting activity with punters looking to pick up the early season value, all eyes in particular are on the New England Patriots who are expected to be the team to beat this winter. Much of the off season was spent with the players and owners in conflict but thankfully for all involved that has now been cleared up and we can look forward to another competitive season with Superbowl XLVI the long term aim. The Patriots have won the Superbowl three times in their history which each of those Championships coming in the 21st Century, they are led by star quarter-back Tom Brady and bookmaker Boylesports make him and the Patriots the favourites to pick up another Superbowl this season.

Over the past ten years the Patriots have grown into one of the premier franchises with Tom Brady leading the line and his form will be key to their chances of another Superbowl success, last season they were the AFC East Champions but they will be hoping to go all the way to the Championship game in Indiana this campaign. It would be a major surprise if the Patriots did not have a good season but in such a competitive betting market their price of 6/1 with Boylesports to win the Superbowl may prove to be a little on the short side. One of their main rivals as always will be the Green Bay Packers who won the Superbowl as recently as 2010 and are being tipped by many to have another stellar season in this year, the Packers are one of the most famous teams in the NFL and they look the team to beat in the NFC with many predicting a showdown with the Patriots in the Superbowl.

According to the betting it si shaping up to be one of the most competitive NFL season’s in living memory with any number of teams capable of going on a run and heading to the play-offs full of chances. Outside of the big two it is also worth taking a closer look at the New Orleans Saints who remain one of the strongest franchises in the league having won the Superbowl for the first and only time in 2009. The Saints are led by the brilliant Drew Brees at Quarter-back and he could be the man to lead them to another successful season, the Saints are available at a nice price of 16/1 with Boylesports.com to win the Superbowl and they could prove to be the team to watch. It is shaping up to be a classic season in the NFL with the Patriots and the Packers the teams to beat according to the latest odds, it would be no surprise to see them in Indiana next Februrary but there are a number of other franchisese who will be hoping to crash that party over the coming months.

Jedward Remain Favourites In Tight Big Brother Betting

August 31, 2011

The revamped show is now into its second week with the betting indicating a three-way race between Jedward, Kerry Katona and Paddy Doherty. The troublesome twins are, rather predictably, still the favourites but only just. The former X-Factor contestants can be found with odds of 15/8 with William Hill while mother-of-four Kerry is next in the running at 2/1. Behind them with odds of 11/4 is Paddy Doherty from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding who has so far proved popular with both the housemates and the public.

Amy Childs, who was among the favourites to win at the beginning, has slumped to 7/1 in the betting, with her constant sleeping not making for the most exciting TV. The lack of a Big Brother romance may also be losing her votes. An outside bet could be Lucien Laviscount at 14/1 while Tara Reid has long odds of 33/1. Bobby Sachel came out of his shell and was involved in a few petty spats last week which may not have gone down well with the viewers who were beginning to warm to the model.

Last Friday Sally Bercow became the first contestant to be evicted out of the Big Brother house after she lost out to Kerry Katona and Bobby Sabel. Meanwhile ‘Mr Paparazzi’ Darryn Lyons and actress Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff will go head-to-head in the second eviction on Friday. Pamela has been installed as the 8/13 favourite to leave while Darryn is priced at 6/5.
