Where next for Wayne Rooney?
October 21, 2010
After weeks of speculation Wayne Rooney has dropped the bombshell that he would like to leave Manchester United his home for the last 6 years and he would be renewing his contract with the team. The news of Rooney’s intentions was broken in a press conference held by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson where Ferguson explained his surprise that Rooney wanted to leave as was at a loss for his reasons to do so. This was followed by a carefully worded press release from Rooney stating that his reason was that he no assurances from the top that there would be major investment in the Manchester United squad so they could complete on the same levels as Chelsea and Manchester City and attract the world’s top players to win trophies for them.
Rooney’s decision to move could be similar to that of David Beckham who moved away from England to have a clean start with his wife amid tabloid speculation of an alleged affair with Rebecca Loos and there were recent allegations in the press over his private life that Rooney had slept with a series of escorts and cheated on his wife Coleen. So it could be that Wayne Rooney will be looking to move abroad to a club that can afford him, that would only really leave the likes of Real Madrid or maybe Inter Milan.
Where willl Wayne Rooneys be playing next?
The bookmaker Bet 365 speculates which club that Wayne Rooney will be playing for on 1st September 2011. The only English club that could easily afford his no doubt high transfer fee is Manchester City but whether Rooney would switch to his former teams bitter rivals remains to be seen.
- 7/4 – Manchester City
- 2/1 – Real Madrid
- 3/1 – Chelsea
- 5/1 – Manchester Utd
- 12/1 – Barcelona
- 16/1 – Inter Milan
- 40/1 – Tottenham Hotspur
- 66/1 – Arsenal
- 80/1 – Liverpool
- 100/1 – Everton

October 18, 2010
In what can come as no real surprise to Middlesbrough fans, the current team manager Gordon Strachan has left the club he joined less than a year ago with immediate effect and he will not receive any compensation as he resigned and in doing so tore up his contract! Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson now needs to start the looking for a replacement and become the next manager in control at the Riverside.

Sunderland have a slight edge in tonight fixture but a draw beckons
October 18, 2010
Tonight Sunderland travel to Ewood Park tonight to take on Blackburn which is sure to be an exciting bottom of the table clash, either team that manages to claim all 3 points on offer with this game will climb to the top half of the table and could event get to the dizzy heights of seventh place and far away from the relegation zone that Liverpool currently find themselves in.
Goals have been hard to find with these two sides so far this season so viewers and punters alike could be looking at a stalemate of match and a draw is the more likely result for this fixture.

All odds are supplied by Bet Fred where you can find many more markets on this game.

De Sousa looking for success on Sharp Sovereign at the 5.10 from Pontefract
October 18, 2010
At Pontefract Racecourse the 5.10 race is Totetrifecta Flexi Betting Handicap which is a class 5 race for horses aged 3 years and over. The going for the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 6 yard race is set to good and it will be contested by 17 runners.
According to Boylesports the favourite to win this race is Sharp Sovereign who is at odds of 9/2 and is ridden today by Silvestre De Sousa, the second favourite is Mashatu whose jockey is Pat Cosgrave and at odds of 5/1. Here at freebetsblog.com we normally go for the current form of a horse and how the jockey is doing but we are suckers for the television show Stargate and there is a horse running today called Amanda Carter which is a cross between the actress and the character (Amanda Tapping plays Samantha Carter) so that is our tip (each way bet of course) and at odds of 16/1 that is worth a shout, with that in mind Amanda Tapping is also the star the hit show Sanctuary who is in the same race and ridden by Tom Eaves and at odds of 12/1.
Internet bookmakers Boylesports are running a cash back offer on this race from Pontefract. If you back a horse that finishes in second place and is beaten by the starting price favourite then they will refund your losing single stake. Defeat at Goodison sureley spells the end for Hodgson at Liverpool
October 18, 2010
It came as little surprise that Liverpool lost their Merseyside derby at the weekend, with Everton coming away from the match with all 3 points and a clean sheet after beating Roy Hodgson’s side 2-0. This could be the final nail in Roy Hodgson’s short managerial career at Liverpool as the new owners of Liverpool New England Sports Ventures (NESV) will be needing to see Liverpool near the top half of the table.
Prior to the kick off of the game one of the new co-owners of Liverpool; Tom Werner told BBC Sports “We have confidence in Roy”. His point of view may have changed considerably following the match which has seen Liverpool slide another place down the table to 19th, thankfully for Hodgson the game was not played at Anfield, but he is bound to be feeling hot under the collar whilst the new owners assess their purchase.
