Sam Twiston-Davies ridden Petite Margot has great odds for an each way bet at Stratford today

October 28, 2010

Our featured race today is the 3.20 from Stratford Racecourse in sunny welcoming Warwickshire (by sunny we mean cloudy and miserable, and by welcoming we mean as welcome as non locals are in the Slaughtered Lamb pub). It is a handicap chase over a distance of 3 miles and 4 furlongs and it set to have 8 runners doing their best to finish this long race in good time.

The favourite for this race the 4/1 shot Helm ridden by Richard Johnson followed by the second favourite Volcanic Rock who is at odds of 9/2 and ridden by jockey Derek O’Connor. The tip from us today is for an each way bet on Petite Margot who is currently showing at odds of 6/1 and ridden by young Sam Twiston-Davies and trained by his Dad Nigel. The horse has been finding it difficult to win recentyl but it should stay the course and a top three finish should be in the offering.

Bookmakers Boylesports will be offering a cash back offer on this race should you meet their criteria for losing a bet. Should you back a horse that ends up finishing the race in second place and is beaten by the starting price favourite then they will refund win singles and the win part of any losing each way singles you have made back into your account.

As well as this great offer if you take an early or board price and the starting price is higher then the kind souls at Boylesports will pay out on the better price, who says bookies don’t have a heart?

Celtic favourites to beat St Johnstone in Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter final

October 27, 2010

Celtic are able to take a break from the Scottish Premier League as they travel to McDiarmid Park in Perth to face St. Johnstone tonight for their Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter final game.  St Johnstone beat Queen of the South 3-0 and Celtic also progressed through the third round fixture comfortably beating Inverness Caledonian Thistle 6-0. Tonight Celtic are clearly the favourites to progress to the semi-finals and should easily beat Derek McInnes side and then be on their way to get some silverware in the cabinet this season.

Hopefully during this game Celtic boss Neil Lennon’s side will be able to avoid the controversy that has been surrounding Celtic games of late where they have questioned the referee’s decisions directly with the Scottish Football Association as to why penalty decisions have not gone their way. One such penalty decision came during the game against Dundee Untied where a penalty awarded by the referee but was overruled by linesman Steve Craven and has resulted in the assistant referee Craven resigning over the incident.

St Johnstone v Celtic Match odds

  • 7/4 – St Johnstone win
  • 5/2 – Draw
  • 11/10 – Celtic win

Betfred are offering a cash back offer on this game. If you place a bet on the first or last goal scorer market and your bet fails to materialize but Celtics Greek striker Giorgios Samaras manages to score the last goal of the game then Betfred will refund your losing stake into your account which you can then use as a free bet.
