Who will be the new face and body of Miss Ultimo?

March 30, 2010

Following the recent tabloid scandals regarding Peaches Geldof she has been dropped by Ultimo underwear as the face and body of their Miss Ultimo collection, the deal was said to be a nice and tidy six figure sum that will surely put a dent in Peaches partying fund.

If you are unaware who Peaches is she appears to be famous for being the daughter of Sir Bob Geldof (he of Live Aid and Boomtown Rats fame), other than that she has no other value! She is the UK’s version of Paris Hilton albeit an Aldi version

Can Forest get back on track in the game against Newcastle tonight?

March 29, 2010

Tonight’s Coca Cola Championship fixture sees two of the top three teams facing each other in what will be an important result for Billy Davies side. Forest travel to St James Park for the 19:45 kick off that can be watched live on Sky Sports. Forest managed to beat Newcastle 1-0 back in October in and they will be looking to do the double in this reverse fixture.

Chris Hughton’s Newcastle side are currently riding the top of the Champions on 80 points, closely followed by West Brom who could have gone top if they had beating Reading at the weekend. Forest are 9 points off the automatic promotion slot so beating Newcastle will keep them still in contention for an automatic spot.

If promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest manage to beat current league leaders Newcastle then Victor Chandler will refund all of the losing bets placed on the match for you to use as a free bet.

Forest have shown an inconsistent form of late, winning at the City ground but losing away from home, they have lost their last 6 away games against teams that on paper they should easily have beat, the last away win was in January ironically against West Brom beating them 3-1, but defeats against Coventry, Derby, Barnsley and Preston have cost them dearly.

Match odds
Forest’s poor away form is reflected in their odds for winning tonight’s match.
8/11 – Newcastle win
7/2 – Forest win
13/5 – Draw

Neil Lennon current favourite to takeover the hot seat at Celtic

March 26, 2010

After the embarrassing 4-0 defeat of Celtic by 10th placed St Mirren , Celtic and manager Tony Mowbray have parted ways. Mowbray joined the Scottish team in June last year after a move from West Bromwich and has seen them win only 17 of 30 league games under him, compared to the 20 wins by arch rivals Rangers, which has resulted in Celtic being 10 points adrift of Rangers in a league that is generally a two horse race, leaving the Celtic board with little option but to sack Mowbray and get a replacement in.

The favourite to join the sackrace and step into Mowbray’s shoes is the current caretaker manager and former player and Captain Neil Lennon who has been given the job of caretaker on a match by match basis and will have his first game in charge against Kilmarnock at home.

Next manager for Celtic

Odds are for who will be made the next PERMAMENT manager of Celtic and have been supplied by Stan James.

Odds look like Zola will be on his way out following backing from David Sullivan

March 25, 2010

Zola is the hot favourite manager to join the Premier League manager sackrace. The current West Ham United manager Gianfranco Zola has received the poison chalice of the backing of his chairman when David Sullivan, one of the current co-owners of the side went on record to say “”he has our 100%” backing and says he is not in immediate threat of the sack”. It is also reported that Sullivan will not make any managerial change to the Hammers until at least the end of the season.

Will Zola still be in charge on the 1st day of next season

West Ham have had a poor form of late and the recent defeat on Tuesday night to fellow relegation contenders Wolverhampton Wanderers which saw Mick McCarthy’s side cruise to a comfortable 3-1 away win which has left the Hammers teetering on the relegation zone just 3 points ahead of Burnley and Hull, with Hull still having a game in hand (although Hulls goal difference would see them still behind West Ham).

Budget Day betting specials

March 24, 2010

It is the day we look forward to more than any in the political calendar other than the general election (which is just around the corner) its Budget Day in Westminster and the Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling reveals to the nation the governments spending plans when he brings out the infamous red briefcase.

Today in his speech to the houses of parliament he will be increasing taxes across the board (and on rare occasions, decreasing) to achieve their spending budgets, expect items like beer, spirits and fags to cost you more over the coming months and petrol looks like it will go through the roof as Darling implements taxes that have been previously deferred.

Will the new budget be a desperate last chance attempt by Labour to stay in power at the next general election or will they be scuttling the sinking ship leaving it impossible for a new crew to save the ship when they takeover?

Labour’s Post Budget Rating

Length of Speech

How long will Darling’s speech to the house take? Timing starts from the moment he speaks his first world to the last and will be rounded off to the nearest minute.

  • 10/11 – 50 minutes or less
  • 6/4 – 51 to 55 minutes inclusively
  • 4/1 – 56 minutes or more

Another tough challenge awaits West Ham tonight as they face Wolves

March 23, 2010

West Ham have managed to lose their last three matches and tonight’s home fixture against fellow relegation contenders Wolves is a must win game for Gianfranco Zola side. The three losses have seen 8 goals go into the back of Robert Green’s net and they have only score 3 goals in reply, admittedly they have had some tough opposition in Arsenal and Chelsea of late so it could be turned around when they face some equal opposition.

West Ham v Wolves match odds

  • 4/5 - West Ham Untied win
  • 7/2 - Wolverhampton Wanderers win
  • 5/2 – Draw

The bookmakers Stan James are running a cash back offer if you place a bet on this match on the first player to score and you chosen player fails to bag the first goal but then he goes on to score at anytime during the match then they will refund your stake money back for you to use as a free bet.

West Ham v Wolves first goal scorer odds

A goal fest is not expected with this tie, with no teams have an outstanding strike force, favourite at odds of 5/1 Carlton Cole has only scored 25 goals in 97 games for the Hammers.
