Vinnie Jones favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother 2010 but keep an eye on Nicola
January 22, 2010
Vinne Jones looks set to become the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2010 if the latest odds that have been released by Irish bookmaker Paddy Power come true. His closest competition to win the contest is page 3 model and our favourite to win Nicola Tappenden star of the ITV2 show WAGS Boutique and ever popular “workout” DVD WAG’s Workout.
However Nicola would have to up her game if the German Big Brother house is anything to go by, to boost their flagging ratings they introduced into the house (as reported in the Sun newspaper) a no holds barred porn actress called Cora (real name Carolin Berger) who depsite being covered in tattoos took the German nation by storm, we look forward to Channel 4 being as forward thinking as the Germans!
Celebrity Big Brother winner 2010
- 8/11 – Vinnie Jones
- 4/1 – Nicola Tappenden
- 13/2 – Dane Bowers
- 8/1 – Alex Reid
- 14/1 – DJ Basshunter
- 14/1 – Sisqo

The bookies Boylesports have just cut his odds from 9/2 to 4/1. His biggest rival in the show is former Emmerdale soap star and reality TV addict Hayley Tamaddon. Will the underdogs Leeds perform against Spurs in the FA Cup this weekend?
January 21, 2010
A few years ago the thought of a fifth round FA cup fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United was nothing to get excited about, the teams would meet regulary in the league anyway, that was until Leeds started their freefall which left them lingering in league one (the old division three, for our older readers). Leeds have started to fix things on the pitch narrowly missing out on promotion last year in the play offs and are currently top of League one with hope of automatic promotion to the Coca Cola Championship.
Being 40 places above Leeds in the league gives Spurs the clear advantage to win this match on Saturday but that wont stop an army of Leeds fans travelling down to White Hart Lane for the late kick off as they all know when it comes to the FA Cup sometimes David will win against Goliath.

Which football club will ban its players from Twitter next?
January 20, 2010
In August last year Paddy Power released odds on which club would be the first to ban the use of Twitter, the favourite at the time was Tottenham Hotspur who had taken action against Darren Bent following his outburst against his proposed transfer.
Click here to follow Freebetsblog.com on Twitter
It turned out that Manchester United were the first club to ban its players from Twitter and other social networking sites. United had been showing odds of 9/1 to be the first club, so if you did back them congratulations! The reasoning behind the ban according to United’s website is that no players maintain a social networking account and that if fans come across them they should treat their authenticity with extreme skepticism.
The real reason is probably down to two factors, the first being they don’t want their players to blurt out confidential information or embarrass themselves or the club with public outbursts and the club probably wants fans to go to the official club website and sign up for the premium content available which you could use to get for free from the players Twitter accounts!
What club will ban Twitter Next?
- 4/1 – Tottenham Hotspur
- 6/1 – Liverpool
- 8/1 – Hull
- 8/1 – Stoke
- 10/1 – Bolton
- 10/1 – Blackburn
- 12/1 – Burnley
- 12/1 – Portsmouth
- 14/1 – Sunderland
- 14/1 – Everton
- 16/1 – West Ham
- 16/1 – Wigan
- 18/1 – Wolves
- 18/1 – Fulham
- 20/1 – Birmingham
- 20/1 – Chelsea
- 25/1 – Aston Villa
- 25/1 – Man City
- 33/1 – Arsenal

James Cameron Avatar is gunning for double Oscar glory
January 19, 2010
Ricky Gervais has just dished out the Golden Globes and these award are always a good indicator on who is likely to win an award that really counts, an Oscar! The ceremony for the 82nd Oscars will be televised globally on Sunday March 7th from Hollywood.
James Cameron’s science fiction epic Avatar (which in no way takes its story from Ferngully and Pocahontas) managed to do the double at the Golden Globes picking up best film and best director gongs and punters and bookies alike think it will repeat its success at the Oscars, it is currently at odds of 13/8 to do this double.
However at Freebetsblog.com we think that this choice would be far to predictable to win, and after all there have been many better films throughout the year, Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker is a strong contender to pip Avatar, we would like to see Inglorious Basterds do well as it was a great film but did not have mainstream appeal due to the subject matter and Peter Jacksons The Lovely Bones has a great outside chance.
Oscar for Best Picture 2010
- 11/10 – Avatar
- 7/4 – The Hurt Locker
- 3/1 – Up in the Air
- 18/1 – Inglorious Basterds
- 20/1 – Precious
- 40/1 – Invictus
- 40/1 – Nine
- 40/1 – Up
- 50/1 – An Education
- 66/1 – The Lovely Bones

City are still the favourites for rescheduled Carling Cup fixture
January 18, 2010
It has now been a fortnight since the two Manchester sides were due to meet in the Carling Cup but the fixture was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. In the time passed since the original fixture City have seen their odds of winning slashed slightly from 13/10 to 6/4.
This is despite Roberto Mancini’s side suffering their first defeat under his leadership when Manchester City were beaten 2-0 by an inform Everton side. United on the other hand have not lost a game since their shock exit from the FA Cup when Leeds managed to beat them 1-0.
Manchester City v Manchester United Odds
Paddy Power are running one of their famous cash back offers on the game. If the result of the game is a boring 0-0 draw then they will refund all losing first and last goal scorer bets as well as scorecast singles and correct scores.
