October 30, 2008

The British hopeful Lewis Hamilton knows that if he finishes the Brazilian Grand Prix in at least fifth place he will secure his first world champion title.  The McLaren driver holds a seven point lead over Felipe Massa the Ferrari driver, to stop him Massa must win the race and Hamilton must come in sixth place or lower or worse not finish the race for Massa to claim the title.

However the world of F1 driving is never cut and dry and Lewis knows only to well after blowing his chances of winning the championship last year in Brazil.  Can Hamilton be the youngest driver (he is only 23) to win the title and the last British chance since 1996, or will he fall foul of destiny one more time? William Hill are giving odds of 1/8 for Hamilton to win the drivers Championship and 9/2 for Massa.

Brazilian GP Specials from William Hill:

6/4 Massa and Hamilton to finish first and second in either order
2/1 Massa to have fastest lap of the race
5/2 Massa to win from pole position

Odds for a white Christmas slashed

October 29, 2008

It is cold outside and thanks to the snowfall of last night the odds for a white Christmas have been reduced as temperatures across the country hit freezing. With Christmas just eight weeks to go the cold weather spell has already started.  The last time Paddy Power paid out on a white Christmas was back in 2004 when Dublin was covered in snow, and the last time snow officially fell in England on Christmas day was back in 1999.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said, “We haven’t even got past Halloween but we’re really feeling Christmas this year especially after seeing a few snowflakes today. As today proved, it only takes one snowflake to get our punters excited.”

Will snow fall on Christmas Day at the following destinations:

  • 4/1 - Dublin
  • 5/1 - London
  • 6/1 - Cardiff
  • 7/2 - Glasgow
  • 9/2 - Belfast
  • 11/2 -Manchester

Arsenal v Tottenham free bet offers

October 29, 2008

Since his appointment at the end of last week Harry Redknapp has already inspired his team to claim their first three points of the season, but can they put in repeat performance when they take on their bitter (and more successful) rivals Arsenal tonight? If Spurs can win tonight it will mark their 1500th league victory and more importantly their first back to back win of 2008.

Will 4 be the lucky number for Arsenal? They are 4 points and 4 places behind League Leaders Liverpool and will be chasing their 4th win on the bounce this season, if Arsenal were to win 4-0 the odds are 16/1!. Arsenal go into the game with a seventeen match unbeaten run against Spurs (ten wins, seven draws) so are the clear favourites to win.  That being the case Paddy Power will refund all losing first and last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match if Emmanuel Adebayor scores the last goal of this match.

Adebayo is currently the favourite to score first for Arsenal with odds of 9/2, for Tottenham the odds are a bit higher for their favourite Pavlyuchenko to score first who is currently at 10/1 with odds of 10/11 for no Spurs goalscorer!
