The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockey’s Hurdle is the last but one race of the 2010 Cheltenham Festival starting at 16.40 today. It is the newest race of the Festival, it made its debut in 2009 and was won by Andytown trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by Felix de Giles. It was named in honour of champion trainer Martin Pipe who recorded a record thirty four wins at the Cheltenham Festival. Yesterday in the Abu Dhabi Championship British golfer Ian Poulter suffered a gut turning one stoke loss in the tournament which denied him a win and giving the title to the German Martin Kaymer who took the tournament for his second time. Poulter managed to keep his cool on this occasion and there was no repeat of the performance he showed at the Mercedes-Benz Championship when he smashed his tee marker in frustration!
